Star Wars ship of the trade federation. Trade Federation (Star Wars). The occupation of Naboo by the forces of the Trade Federation

There was a republic that did everything in a good way more or less for the people, but tightened the screws in some places to maintain order. These nuts were not liked by the trade federation, and gradually this commercial association was increasing its influence, because there were a lot of dissenting people, like everywhere else. The interests of the republic were represented by the valiant Jedi, and the interests of the federation were led stealthily by the evil Siths, whom the Jedi thought they had won a long time ago (the Jedi and Sith had long-standing ideological and magical graters). In the process of increasing influence, the federation is increasingly impudent and claims its interests in non-trivial ways for the republic (blockade of the planet, etc.), and the republic is trying to peacefully solve everything, but does not quit. Oil is added to the fire by the fact that in the political elite of the republic, the most evil Sith has settled in, who weaves all sorts of intrigues, and, taking advantage of the situation, wants to exalt the ideas of the Sith. Gradually, the trade federation turns into a separatist movement - an independent confederation of planets, the republic cannot peacefully resolve the conflict and resortes to the help of the clone army. The very Sith seizes power and, in the midst of battles, makes a knight's move - blames the Jedi for all the troubles and gives an order, as a result of which they are methodically cut out, remake the republic into an empire, and the Jedi makes a hopeful evil - his apprentice. So that no one would show off anymore, and to consolidate his success, he builds a death star + clones swore allegiance to the Sith without further questions. After a while, the remnants of the Jedi, whom this alignment did not suit, begin a counter operation to restore the republican order. They find for this new budding Jedi and in the semi-guerrilla war they defeat everyone.

In short, 3 conflicts can be distinguished - political (between the republic and autocracy), ideological (between freedom and order) and the imbalance of the fantasy element - power (light / darkness).

She is the princess of the planet Alderaan, because she was adopted by influential people, Kenobi and her origin helped in this regard - she is the daughter of Queen Amidala (later the representative of Naboo in the Senate) and Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader). Analogues of the monarchies were on the planets, and the Senate was the organ in the republic. Representatives of royal families in this senate were included, both under the empire and under the republic, including Leia, until the emperor dismissed him.

1/2/3 episodes - the republic (good) is fighting the separatists (evil), then - the Sith seize power and the republic becomes an empire and the empire (evil) is fighting the rebels (good).

To answer

Leia was the princess of the planet Alderaan, as she was adopted by Senator Bale Organa and Queen Alderaan Breha Organa. The political system on the planets and the interracial pan-galactic system could vary. Just the kings or their representatives participated in the senate of the republic.

Trade Federation - was the only trade organization whose interests in the Republican Senate were represented by its own senator. Such before Stark's hyperspace conflict was Nuth Gunray, and after his rise, Lott Dod.

In the last decades of the Republic's existence, the Neimoidians decided to take advantage of the reinforcement of the pirate clans of the Outer Ring in order to legally arm their ships. The Senate tried to oppose this, but in the end, numerous inspections did not reveal anything illegal. With the help of bribes, the corrupt republican Federation officials managed to create an operational fleet as soon as possible.

After the Stark Hyperspace War, Nut Gunray became vice-king of the Trade Federation, by whose order almost all members of the Directorate, limiting the authority of the vice king, were killed during the economic summit on Eriada, held in 33 BBY. After that, all the posts in the Directorate were given to the Neimoidians who supported Gunray.

Around this time, the Trade Federation intervened in the Haka War, becoming an ally of the insect-like race of the Yam’ria, which was threatened with a complete defeat by the Kalishans. With the help of the Federation, the yam’rias appealed to the Senate, and he sent a Jedi team to the Abbaji system. The Jedi decided on the guilt of the Kalishans.

The occupation of Naboo by the forces of the Trade Federation

In the end, the Republic began to make attempts to somehow limit the influence of the Federation, and the first such attempt was the decision to establish a new system of taxation of trade routes. In response, the Trade Federation blocked the Naboo planet with its fleet. Part of the Directorate of the Federation joined the Occupation Council, which controlled the battle droids from the capital of Nabu Tida. These actions of the Federation caused another scandal in the Senate, and served as an indirect reason for the resignation of Chancellor Valorum, who at an extraordinary meeting of the Senate on the Naboo problem, Queen Amidala put forward a vote of no confidence.

The blockade of Naboo ended in failure for the Federation, but it did not lose its influence, despite numerous legal proceedings. Nuth Gunray was still her Viceroy, safely overcoming four trials.

The Clone Wars

When Count Dooku began creating the Confederation of Independent Systems, the Trade Federation eagerly agreed to join it. Gunray demanded only one thing from Dooku - the head of Padme Naberrie. Formally, Gunray agreed to join the Confederation shortly before the battle for Jonosis.

During the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation was the main source of funding for the Confederation. Her army also became the basis for the droid army, commanded by General Grievous.

Towards the end of the Clone Wars, some of the major worlds of the Federation were captured by Republic forces. During the Battle of Kato Neimoid, Viceroy Nutu Ganray was struggling to escape from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

Last years

After the death of Noot Gunray on Mustafar in 19 BBY, Sentepet Findos became vice-king of the Trade Federation, who was arrested shortly after his election by the forces of the Empire. He was forced to sign an agreement according to which all the resources of the Trade Federation were at the disposal of the Emperor. Formally, this was the end of the Trade Federation, but the federation was completely absorbed by imperial companies only a few years later.

Companions

The first cargo ships of the Trade Federation were built at shipyards owned by Hersh-Kessel Drive Corporation. For some time until 33 years of age BBY, Tagge became a trading partner of the Federation, and several representatives of this company joined the directorate. After the trade summit on Eriadu and the death of most directorate members, the Tagge house, which owned the company, recalled its representatives, deciding to never deal with the Trade Federation again. The Droydeks (droid destroyers) were a project of the insect-like colicoid race, and were first built shortly before the battle for Naboo. The Trade Federation also collaborated with Haor Chal Engineering, a company owned by the sect Xi Char (Zi Char), and the Bactoid Corporation, a member of the Techno-Union. Through the mediation of Darth Sidious, the Federation has established contacts with Geonosian Industries

Description:

Immediately after the adoption of resolution BR-0371, which taxed hyperspace in the External and Middle Regions, the Trade Federation (TF) began to prepare a retaliatory strike. Secretly from the regulatory authorities of the Republic, TF increased the number of battle droids. The TF did not have its own warships. Issuing an order not to design ships to third-party planets and organizations was economically disadvantageous and could attract attention from the law enforcement agencies of the Republic. Therefore, the leadership of the TF decided to arm the massive container ships LH-3210, which were used by the Federation in large quantities.

Previously loaded with all kinds of goods, now container ships were filled with a variety of weapons and equipment. In the massive “ring” hold, the number of load-bearing frames for hanging fighters was increased, hidden laser batteries appeared on the sides of the ship, 16 transceiver antennas were installed to control the droids, and the hull was reinforced with layers of armor. In less than six months, the once-peaceful container ships turned into well-armed warships.

The belt covering the central sphere is occupied by hangars and warehouses. This layout went to the ship from the civilian past. The brain center of the ship is the central sphere. It contains the main reactor, the captain’s bridge, cabins for non-Imodians and guests, conference rooms ... etc. The “neck” of the battleship is the docking compartment of the sphere with the rest of the ship, since the sphere is capable of independently moving in outer space and even landing on planetary surface.

The blockade of the planet Naboo, the homeland of Chancellor Palpatine, which initiated the adoption of resolution BR-0371, became a test of strength for TF. In the battle for Naboo, many of the ship’s flaws appeared, inherited from the civilian past. The weak reactor was unable to provide energy for all weapons, which, incidentally, were found to be very unsuccessful, allowing for the presence of numerous "dead zones". In addition, the ship had numerous vulnerabilities. Projectors of the protective field, located on the surface of the central sphere, were very vulnerable to attacks by fighters and bombers, which, “ducking” under the shields, could directly attack the projectors. Another weak spot was the hangar, the entrance to which was wide, vulnerable and unprotected.

The disadvantage of the ship as an amphibious assault is the presence of one droid control center. Since the droids were the backbone of the Trade Federation army, the control station came under attack in the first place. For economic reasons (branded Neimoidian economy), the Government of the Trade Federation, during the conflict over Naboo, decided to equip only every twent ship with a communications center. This led to the fact that it was not difficult to calculate the control ship even visually: on the surface of the central sphere, a characteristic accumulation of long-range communication antennas stood out, and 16 massive transmitting and receiving antennas were clearly visible on the hull itself. The failure of such a center could completely stop the invasion of the planet, both terrestrial and space. Actually, this is exactly what happened during the battle of Naboo.

After Naboo, TF took this fact into account by increasing the autonomy of its droids, designing mobile command posts and equipping all of its battleships with antennas. Although there were punctures that clearly demonstrated the shortcomings of the massive use of fighter droids. One of these punctures occurred during the Sith's secret mission to destroy the “Extra Long Flight,” successfully carried out in 27 BBY. In this mission, the squadron under the command of Doriana (using the pseudonym Stratis) and vice-lord Siv Kava included two ships of this type - the Keeper and the Avenger (Darkvenge). All ships were provided by the Trade Federation and did not stand out from their counterparts. The ships arrived at the point of interception of the "Extra Long" and began to expect the target to appear, but instead came across a small squadron of Chiss under the command of Thrawn. The blue-skinned naval commander demanded from the squadron commander to report on the purpose of the visit and informed that they were in the Chiss space. But the snobby Neimoidian was not even going to answer in the face of the "savage" and "pirate" (that is how he described Traun) and ordered the fighters to be released. Thrawn, thanks to the tales of Jorj Car’das, an involuntary visitor to the Chiss, already outlined what kind of fighters had been sent against him. He ordered a retreat to the limit of the radius of action of the fighter droids and waited. Waited and ships TF. Then Traun revealed the main flaw of the naval doctrine of TF. He sent one heavy fighter to a certain distance from the main squadron, ordering him to approach the ships of the TF at equal intervals and at the same rate and retreat whenever fighters were directed against him. This incomprehensible (for Doriana and arrogant Neimoidian) leapfrog lasted for some time. While these "dances in space" lasted, electronic warfare specialists, located on the flagship of Traun, were deciphering the control signals received by the fighter droids from the control station, highlighting repeating sections of code in them. Then Thrawn moved forward, decisively attacking the Neimoidian ships. Siv Cav sent hundreds of fighters, wanting to crush the chiss like a bug, but instead of attacking the ships of Thrawn, the fighter droids flew ... in a completely different direction, acting according to the order given from the side of the ship of Thrawn broadcasting the same signal for the fighters as they attacked a lone " dancing "fighter. Then it was more fun. Traun countered the second wave of fighters with active interference at all frequencies, and some of the fighters were immobilized by "Konor networks", which disabled electronics. A significant part of the Guardian air group, due to active interference, did not receive signals from the control station and could not leave the carrier ship. Simply put, the droids were at a loss. A few minutes later, exactly following the program enclosed in them, the fighters self-destructed, destroying the Guardian with them. Other ships of the squadron perished. Thrawn spared only the flagship. This battle showed how unreliable the practice of using fighter droids and a poorly armed carrier ship is and how important electronic warfare (EW) is in space combat.

During the Clone Wars, ships of this type took part in many battles of the war, acting mainly as aircraft carriers and landing ships. After the Clone Wars, these excellent ships did not leave the scene, continuing to be used in the fleets of various corporations and planetary governments. At least one upgraded LH-3210 used by the Alliance fleet is known. This ship took part in the battle of Despair, delivering more than 500 fighters to the battlefield. A number of these ships were acquired by wealthy shipowners from the Corporate Sector. Several LH-3210 even appeared in the fleet of the Corporate Sector of Autarkia (KSA). True, it is not known in what role the KSA used it as an aircraft carrier, landing ship or battleship.

Note

In Starships of the Galaxy, without a shadow of doubt, these ships are called battleships. But if you look at their rather scarce artillery and very impressive hangars, in which 1,500 fighters were able to be placed, and no less impressive number of troops transported, this ship would be called an attack aircraft carrier, which successfully combines the functions of the BDK (large landing ship). I note that it was in the role of the aircraft carrier and the BDK that this ship was mainly used in the Clone Wars.

It so happened that one of the most popular creatures in the Star Wars world is the Twi’leks. They are not among the central characters, but they appear in almost every “episode”, in many books, they are not unknown to avid computer gamers.
The official Star Wars literature claims that there are very few creatures that can gracefully grace a twi’lek woman in movement, and this is hard to argue. For the beautiful girls themselves, beauty and grace are more of a punishment than a reason for joy. Because the native people, without a twinge of conscience, sell them into slavery. The slave trade is one of the articles of the external income of their world of Ryloth, almost on a par with the trade of rill - a mineral and drug extracted on the planet.
A characteristic feature of the anatomy of twi’leks is the presence of cephalic tails - lekku. They are quite sensitive, flexible, and with their help the twi’leks can even secretly communicate. The second hallmark of the race can be considered a variety of colors and shades of twi’leks skin.
Tuskens In contrast to the Twi'lek, who do not like to dress, the Tuskens, also known as the Tuskensky robbers or sandy people of Tatooine, completely hide their bodies under a mask and a bunch of rags. To see the face of Tusken is a terrible and deadly insult. The gender of the child recorded at birth is taken into account only at the conclusion of weddings, during which during the special ritual the blood of two sand people and the blood of their bows are mixed. And only after that, in a separate tent, the newlyweds can see each other's true appearance.
The Tuskens have a truly mystical connection with their bows, huge animals, remotely resembling our mammoths. Tusken, who has lost his bow, becomes an outcast, and the bow, whose rider is dead, goes crazy, and she is forever released into the sand.
It is interesting to see the attitude of the Tuskens to storytellers who transmit stories by word of mouth. The one and only incorrectly spoken word in the story is the death sentence to the narrator. In general, sand people are extremely aggressive, often for no apparent reason. Their very name "Tusken robbers" appeared after they brutally destroyed the fort Tusken, built by settlers on their sacred land.
Hutts Speaking about the inhabitants of Tatooine, it is impossible not to mention the Hutts, although by and large only one Hutt is known on Tatooine. But what a! Long-lived, arrogant, vile, ruthless and vindictive Hutts hold in their hands a huge part of the criminal world of the galaxy.
The Hutts have incredibly muscular bodies, despite the lack of a skeleton. In addition, their skin is resistant to most types of weapons and to all chemicals, with the exception of the most toxic. The internal organs are protected by several layers of muscle and fat. The Hutts are hermaphrodites; they have both male and female reproductive organs. They are able to eat almost anything that is at least a little edible, but especially love live food.
A newborn hutt weighs less than 100 grams. The first 50 years, they grow and are fed milk inside a special bag in the body of their parent. When they appear from the bag, they weigh up to 70 kilograms and have a length of about a meter. The weight of adult Hutts reaches 500 kilograms. The Hutts are one of the longest-lived races in the galaxy, some of which live up to a thousand years.
Neimoidians In addition to the Hutts, the Trade Federation, led by the Neimoidians, also engaged in not quite legitimate activities for a long time. Although in financial matters they can be bold and aggressive, in reality the Neimoidians are cowardly. This mentality is largely promoted by the first years of their life. Neimoidians are born by larvae, which are placed in closed hives with a limited amount of food, clearly insufficient for everyone to survive. Of course, there is fierce competition in the hives, as a result of which most weak individuals die. When the larvae reach the age of seven, they emerge from the hives, knowing the fear of death and developing accumulative abilities.
In Neimoidian society, evidence of personal wealth is evidence of wealth. Therefore, Neimoidians wear elaborate clothes: expensive dresses and chic hats. High-ranking officials can spend unimaginable amounts on things like a useless mechanical chair that only emphasizes status and indulges laziness.
According to the original idea, the Neimoidians looked somewhat different and should have looked like battle droids.
Geonosians But when creating Geonosians, the authors proceeded from considerations of the similarity of battle droids and their owners. Geonosis's landscapes and structures are based on the impressions of the huge termite mounds found in Africa.
There are two types of Geonosians: wingless drones, mainly engaged in black work, and winged aristocrats, including royal warriors who serve as scouts and ensure the safety of hives.
Despite the simple structure of the brain, the Geonosians have outstanding abilities in the field of mechanics and mechanical engineering, which, however, does not prevent them from treating violence and death as entertainment.
The Geonosian society is strictly divided into castes, but some ambitious individuals strive for social growth. For them, gladiatorial battles are held, the survivor of which ascends the social ladder or earns enough money to leave the planet.
Mon Calamari and Quarren: If the Geonosians cause us to have stable associations with insects, then the inhabitants of the planet Mon Calamari, on the contrary, are associated with mollusks (if not to say more precisely - with squid). By the way, the name Mon Calamari appeared as a result of a joke of a designer who remembered about his breakfast - calamari salad.
Two races live on the same planet at the same time: Mon Calamari and Quarren. The former are idealists and dreamers, the latter are pragmatists and realists. Quarren developed in the depths of the planet’s ocean, so when they ascended to the surface and were surprised to find more developed relatives, they were attacked first.
Kalamari at that time already had more developed intelligence and technology. When it became clear that after some time they would completely exterminate their smaller brothers, the humanity of the Kalamari prompted them to a grandiose social experiment. They took the young Quarren and raised him in accordance with the foundations of civilization, teaching mathematics, philosophy and other sciences. When the wise youngster returned to his parents, instead of hatred, he had respect for those living on the surface.
Mon Calamari - the inhabitants of the coasts. They develop new ideas, and those who prefer depth quarren produce metals and bring these ideas to life. One of the results of implementing cutting-edge Kalamari ideas is the unique fleet of research vessels.
Mon Calamari are able to descend without special devices to a depth of 30 meters. Theoretically, they can remain under water for an arbitrarily long time, but due to psychological and physiological reasons they cannot rest there. Quarren, however, can lower without devices by 300 meters, but after deep dives they are forced to float slowly, due to the need to adapt to pressure drops. Quarrenes have the ability to change skin color, but usually resort to it only in marriage rituals.
Gungans Another bipedal species that loves to live close to or under water is the gungans. Unfortunately, after watching "The First Episode", many have the impression of all the Gungans by their most striking, but not at all typical representative - Ja Ja Binks.
In fact, gungans are not so clumsy, although they are very mobile thanks to the cartilaginous skeleton. Their bodies are excellently adapted for swimming. They have long, muscular tongues, easy-to-hide stalked eyes and four-fingered hands. Their large, powerful teeth are designed to gnaw shells of crustaceans, which form the basis of the diet of gungans. Two long ears, hale, are also used to convey emotions such as anger, friendliness and fear. Gungans hatch with tadpoles, which grow limbs in a month and then can walk on their own.
There are at least two known varieties of gungan. The first are the Otoll gunans: tall, lanky, with eyes on the stems and long ears. The second is the Ankura Gungans: the older race, shorter in stature, stocky, with shorter ears and snouts and less protruding eyes.
Kaminoans Speaking of immigrants from the water worlds, it is impossible not to mention the creators of the clone army - Kaminoans. When the Ice Age ended on the planet Camino and its oceans spilled from melted ice, the locals had to adapt to the changing conditions. Caught on the brink of extinction, the Kaminoans brought the technologists and cloning to perfection and took control of the reproduction in order to survive. The struggle for existence made the Kaminoans a race of ascetics, rejecting material values common to other cultures. They are far from galactic-scale events, and they are not concerned about the consequences of their own experiments.
Being the only intelligent race on a planet covered with water, Kaminoans have the features of aquatic inhabitants: for example, a fin on their heads and pale cold skin. The appearance of the Kaminoans was to some extent inspired by the classical idea of aliens that had formed over the years of development of ufology. To soften this not very friendly image, the designers added the features of small seals to Kaminoans to make them more innocent and naive.
The Rodians There is another race whose appearance echoes the terrestrial notions of aliens - these are the Rodians, creatures with pimply green skin, faceted eyes and a flexible snout. Rodians also have pointed ears, small antenna horns on their heads, and long fingers ending in suction cups. Greedy and immoral, Rodians do not enjoy the trust and respect of other races. On their home planet, they were the most aggressive hunters, and when they nearly destroyed all other living species, they began to hunt each other - in gladiatorial battles. Having entered the vastness of the galaxy, many Rodians became bounty hunters.
Despite the fact that the history of the Rodians was marked by numerous and brutal inter-clan wars, they have a rich culture. Realizing that they were moving toward self-destruction, the Rodians decided to play the violence on the stage without killing anyone. The early plays were nothing more than mock battles, but subsequent generations turned the Rodian drama into real art. The Rodians are first-class dramatic actors, and their play is appreciated throughout the galaxy.
Kel Dor and Zabraki Many Rodians are known for their computer games. Two more races gained popularity in the same way: kel-dory and zabraki. Representatives of both of these races are present in the films as members of the Jedi Council. In addition, it is hardly news to anyone that the charming Darth Maul is not a man, but a marriage disfigured by tattoos.
The Kel Dors are adapted to the helium-rich atmosphere of the planet Dorin, and any other atmosphere is deadly for them. Therefore, outside their home world, they are forced to wear breathing masks. The Kel Dors have a long and dignified tradition in the knowledge of the Force - their natives have become Jedi over the past six thousand years. Balanced, kind-hearted and responsive kel-dor believe in quick and easy justice. However, they often become not only Jedi and diplomats, but also merchants and even bounty hunters.
About the same thing can be said about zabraki. However, it is worth adding that among them there are many scouts and ordinary soldiers. There is nothing that, according to the marriage, he can not afford. At the same time, zabraks lack a sense of superiority over other intelligent creatures. In addition to pride, their instincts for exploring and colonizing territories are highly developed. Therefore, in addition to their native world - Iridonia - they have a lot of colonies.
Wookiee If zabraki can be easily recognized thanks to the horns, then Wookiees already covered with the wool of giants will not be confused with anyone else. Wookiees are very dedicated to the family. They value morality, courage, sympathy and loyalty. Very few Wookiees are free to betray friends or relatives of their own free will. A typical Wookiee custom is the duty of life - an oath of allegiance to anyone who saves Wookiee life.
The planet Kashyyyk, the birthplace of Wookiee, is covered with lush vegetation. Wookiees live on the upper tiers of their vast forests, in houses located high on the branches of huge trees. Wookiee cities are hundreds of huts connected by wooden platforms, suspension bridges and ropes. Although Wookiees may seem primitive, in reality they are on the “you” with technology and easily learn to control starships, repair instruments and use modern weapons.
The average Wookiee's growth is more than two meters, and life expectancy is several times higher than human. In addition to physical strength and keen senses, Wookiees have good regenerative abilities: serious wounds heal on them for several days. Wookiees also have claws that are used only for climbing trees. The notion of honor forbids the Wookiee to use its claws in battle.
Ewoks According to the original plans of Star Wars, the Wookiee tribes had to unite to expel technologically superior imperials from their forest world. However, as a result, for such a scene in Episode Six, Lucas transformed the Wookiees into Ewoks. In the first sketches, the ewoks looked very fierce, and only then became cute fur balls.
The Ewoks have a rich and interesting culture. They believe in a wide pantheon of gods and spirits. Their religion is concentrated mainly around the giant trees of Endor, and the main Ewka deity is the Great Tree, which knows everything and watches over the forest. At the birth of an ewok, they plant a tree, in close spiritual connection with which the newborn will be until the end of his life.
Although the Ewoks have a good command of primitive devices to help them survive, their level of technical development corresponds to the Stone Age. They wear primitive clothes and use rude weapons. But on occasion, they quickly learn modern technology. Ewoks are proud warriors who use the knowledge of forests to defeat a better armed opponent.
