Drawing a logo by a method of silk-screen printing. Drawing a logo on clothes: embroidery, thermal printing, silk-screen printing. Application of logos on gifts by screen printing

This is a screen printing method in which a stencil is created - a frame on which a grid is attached and a special light-sensitive emulsion is applied, then a drawing of the future logo is applied to this blank and it is illuminated with light. Later, during the printing process, the ink passes through the mesh and is dispersed over the fabric. If it is not possible to apply immediately to the product, then it is initially printed on paper, turning it into a sticker, which is then attached to textiles with a heat press.

Initial expenses - 1470 rubles.

If it is necessary for a large batch of overalls, experts usually offer the most popular and effective method - transfer screen printing. This method is also called screen printing, since stencils are used in the process of creating an image.

The method of transfer silk-screen printing is suitable not only for branding work and uniforms, but also for applying images to souvenirs, printing, promotional products. The drawing is securely "glued" to fabrics, plastic, wood, paper, metal, glass. For each type of material, the most suitable paints are used. The shape and colors of logos can be very diverse. The whole process of creation and application consists of several stages.

Stage 1: Processing the layout

The first to work is a specialist in computer image processing. The logo is “split” into elements of the same color, each part is converted to black and printed separately on transparent film at a scale of 1:1. The number of such blanks should be equal to the number of colors on the logo.

Stage 2: Create a stencil

The stencil is a frame of the appropriate size with a fine mesh stretched inside. Previously, silk thread nets were used (hence the name of the method), but now they have been replaced with metal or synthetic ones. Each image transferred to film needs its own frame.
A photo-emulsion layer is applied to each frame, and then a film with an image is applied. The frame with the film is exposed, that is, exposed to light. In places where there is no image, the photographic emulsion hardens. And where the drawing is applied, it remains unchanged. It remains to wash off the unexposed part of the emulsion with water. After all the manipulations done, a stencil is obtained for printing a logo using the silkscreen method.

Step 3: Applying the Image to Transfer Paper

In this case, transfer paper is the medium by which the image will be transferred to the desired product. The stencil frame is tightly fixed on top of the paper, and then paint of the desired color is applied through the grid. A manual squeegee is used to ensure even application. As a result, in places where there is no hardened photographic emulsion, the ink bleeds onto the transfer paper, forming a pattern. After the paint dries, you can apply a pattern from another stencil. At the same time, it is important to observe consistency and accuracy. At the end of the work, the resulting image is finally dried.

Step 4: transferring the image from the transfer paper to the product

Transfer paper has a loose structure and a special impregnation, thanks to which the inks easily move away from its surface. And in order for the logo to be securely fixed on the product, a thermo-press is used. First, you need to prepare the area on which the logo will be applied: the surface must be flat, smooth, without folds and creases. The transfer paper is carefully superimposed on it with the image down. Under the pressure of the press and the influence of a temperature of 200 ° C, the paints polymerize and adhere strongly to the surface of the product. It remains only to carefully remove the paper, allow the drawing to cool and dry well.

What is the price?

Screen printing of a logo is a rather labor-intensive method. But the result is a very clear and high-quality image. Such a logo retains its original appearance for many years, is not subject to abrasion and fading. The cost of such work is made up of many factors. This includes the cost of matrices and their preparation. Also, the price depends on the format, quality and quantity of colors, circulation and relief of the object on which the logo is applied. In any case, ordering directly from the manufacturer will eliminate all kinds of intermediary markups, and will also give confidence in the quality of the task.

Silk screen printing as one of the methods of thermal transfer is applying an image through a special stencil mesh through which the ink penetrates onto the printed material. This technology has become widespread due to the fact that it allows you to apply multi-color complex images with thin lines.
In general, for mass-produced household products, the method of direct application to the fabric is used, for example when printing on T-shirts. In this case, the printing takes place directly on the fabric, which is stretched on a special table by squeezing the ink through the stencil mesh. Each applied layer of paint is dried, and a thorough drying is carried out at the end of the chain. This method can only be used for light single-layer products.

For branding large batches of workwear or applying complex multi-color images, the silk-screen printing method is mainly used, followed by thermal transfer. In the manufacture of blanks, an intermediate carrier (special paper) and a thermal press are used to transfer the image to the surface of the product under the influence of heat. Previously, the image is applied to paper using a screen mesh along with an adhesive composition. This method is the most popular for use on workwear and is used to apply an image to products made from various fabric materials - cotton, nylon, etc.

Screen printing advantages:

  1. transfer of multi-color images while maintaining the full palette of colors;
  2. low cost of logos for large volumes (thermal transfer mesh is produced once for each color);
  3. increased resistance of logos to washing.

Stages of production of logos by silk-screen printing method:

The first step is to print the original on special transfer paper, which serves as an intermediate image carrier. Such paper is covered with a very thin film, which, together with the image applied to it, is transferred to the product, and the paper itself serves as a substrate on which the film is held and gives the rigidity necessary for working with printing devices.

The second stage - a mirror image is applied to the surface of the paper (film), then the pattern is cut out, leaving the margins at the edges necessary for the best welding of the film to the surface of the fabric.

The third stage is a thermal transfer press. The pattern is superimposed with the image down on the workpiece. The product is placed in a thermal transfer press, which provides uniform heating to a temperature of 160 - 180 degrees and tight pressure over the entire transfer surface and withstand the required time (from 5 seconds - 20 seconds).

Features of silkscreen technology:

  • the resulting image is difficult to separate from the tissue;
  • the image can withstand machine washing up to 80C;
  • high resistance to harmful operational factors: frost, humidity, sunlight;
  • Ideal for large orders
  • high speed of application to overalls - the process takes 8-20 seconds;
  • thermal transfer technology is recognized worldwide and is widely used to personalize special clothing.

Logo layouts:

Logo layouts are accepted in vector format, made in CorelDRAW (up to version 17) and Adobe Illustrator CS6. Formats: ai, cdr and eps. Providing logos in vector format will speed up their production.
However, if you plan to put your logo on workwear, but do not have an image in vector format, you can order a logo rendering service. To do this, you need to contact our manager and provide the initial information - a layout, photograph or other image. The cost of the service includes the translation of an image into a vector format from almost any media.

The cost of making logos by silkscreen printing:

  • Preparatory work (for those who applied for the first time):
  • The cost of drawing a logo - from 500 rubles. (calculated individually, as it depends on the complexity of the logo).
  • Printing the main circulation:
  • The price is for 1 logo when ordering a certain quantity. The price includes the production of a special thermal transfer mesh, which is carried out separately for each color of the logo.

Silkscreen printing is the most popular and versatile technology for applying images to business gifts and promotional products. With this method, a logo or other advertising message can be applied to almost any material - cotton, nylon, polyester, plastic, glass, artificial leather, wood and paper.

Silk-screen printing is used to print on almost all types of promotional products from T-shirts, windbreakers, umbrellas and bags to key chains, lighters and cardboard packaging.

Screen printing technology

First, a mesh is stretched over the frame, and a light-sensitive emulsion is applied to the mesh. Then an image is applied to the grid and illuminated with special lamps, and the rest of the emulsion is washed off. This is how the stencil is created. During the printing process, the ink is pressed through the holes in the stencil using a moving squeegee, which disperses the ink over the surface.

When the image cannot be reproduced by silk-screen printing, that is, printed immediately on the product, it is applied by silk-screen printing with a transfer: first, it is silk-screen printed on special paper that looks like a sticker, and then fixed to the product using a heat press. This method prints logos on textiles: T-shirts, polo shirts, baseball caps, windbreakers, as well as bags and balls.

Application of logos on gifts by screen printing

Silk-screen printing on products made of plastic, wood, cardboard, artificial leather
(application code SH)

On most objects with a flat, smooth surface, the image can be applied by direct screen printing - a squeegee through a grid. In this way, logos are printed on packaging, especially on cardboard and wooden boxes, on flat plastic products, on artificial leather folders.

Direct and transfer screen printing on textiles: clothes, bags, umbrellas
(application codes B and D)

Silk-screen printing on textiles is applied either by direct printing - this is convenient for large images and flat surfaces, for example, when applied to the back of a T-shirt - or by silk-screen printing with subsequent transfer, when the logo printed with silk-screen printing on special transfer paper is cut out and steamed with a heat press on the sleeve, frontal part of the baseball cap, pocket, bag flap, etc. In a similar way, the image thermal transfer method prints logos on balls. We inflate the balls before application, then deflate them again to make transport easier.

Silk-screen printing with transfer to chevron and ribbon sewn onto the product
(application code CK)

For knitwear, and especially knitwear from the teplo° collection, it is best to sew on a chevron with a logo. As a chevron, we recommend a fabric ribbon or a soft PVC nameplate with silkscreen printing and subsequent thermal transfer.

Benefits of direct and transfer screen printing

  • variety of colors and textures;
  • printing on both flat and curved surfaces and products of complex shape;
  • persistent application;
  • large application area;
  • low cost of one product at big circulations.

Variety of colors and textures

Screen printing, or silk screen printing, allows you to choose a variety of paints for advertising application, both in color and in properties. Printing with metallic, luminescent or fluorescent inks makes the image even more noticeable. And the foam silk-screen printing creates the effect of volumetric application.

Spot colors (pure colors of the Pantone color model) are bright and saturated on the product. To achieve the best match to Pantone colors, the image is printed on a substrate.

Silk-screen printing can also apply a full-color image, but this process is more time-consuming and expensive. At the same time, it will not be possible to achieve photographic quality using screen printing, which is due to the technological features of the method itself.

Printing on both flat and curved surfaces

The ability to apply an image on curved surfaces and various elements of complex shape is the main advantage of silk-screen printing with a transfer. It is by this method that logos are printed on baseball caps, pockets and flaps of bags, sleeves of T-shirts.

Our production has special equipment that also allows you to apply the transfer on the balls. If the same image needs to be printed on several sectors of the ball, each place of printing is considered as a separate application when calculating the cost of printing.

Permanent application

The silk-screened image has high resistance to abrasion, does not fade, and is well tolerated by washing, which is why silk-screened products are so popular among customers. The strength of the application depends on the type of paint and the material of the product, so this indicator is individual for different items. On average, for silk-screen printing on fabric, with careful use of frequently washed items, such as T-shirts, the image looks presentable for about a year!

Silk screen printing with thermal transfer - a slightly less resistant application than silk screen printing. With frequent washing, rubbing and compression, the sticker may crack. Products with such application require more careful care.

Large application area

On a flat surface, you can print an image up to A3 format, which is especially important for silk-screen printing on clothes - T-shirts, jackets, windbreakers, sweatshirts and vests.

Technological limitations do not always allow silk-screen printing on plastic, glass and wood, from which this or that promotional product is made. The possibility of application is indicated in the card of a specific product.

Low unit cost for large runs

Silk-screen printing allows you to print even small runs, while such application becomes economically affordable with runs of 50 products, and profitable - from 100.

The cost of application depends mainly on the number of applied colors and circulation.
When printing on colored products, the substrate is counted as a separate color.

Silk screen printing or printing with a silk screen allows you to reproduce an image or text on the surface of the product using a printing plate (stencil). Silk-screen printing in Moscow is carried out by specialists of the Metropolitenovets company with special inks.

Screen printing on any surface

According to the type of binding element, paints are divided into water-based, solvent-based (created on the basis of a solvent), plastisols (requiring temperature fixation) and ultraviolet curing. Silk-screen printing is carried out on T-shirts, paper, plastic and ceramic products, ceramics, metal, PVC, glass, fabric, film, cardboard, etc. You can also order silk-screen printing services for applying a logo on PVD bags, baseball caps, clothes, plastic, folders, business cards and other products. This technology allows you to create stickers on vinyl tape, apply a logo on adhesive tape, create postcards and business cards with a complex texture. Relatively cheap screen printing can be presented as an advertising block on a computer mouse pad, letterhead, envelopes, stickers.

Silk screen printing on LDPE bags

Quite a demanded service in the field of advertising and business is silkscreen printing on plastic bags, bottles, coasters, beer glasses, bottles, overalls. A silk-screened logo will look very presentable on promotional materials, and the cost of the service will pleasantly surprise you. In addition, we produce branding of signs, facade flags, shelf talkers, flags on banner fabric.

Moreover, it is possible both direct application to the printed surface, and printing on an intermediate carrier, from which the image can subsequently be transferred to the product. If you are interested in the price of silk-screen printing, then the price list for these services can be found in the corresponding section.

Silkscreen printing methods

To decorate prints when printing with silkscreen on plastic and other materials, you can use continuous or selective varnishing. This will give the image a more respectable look. Glitters can be added to screen varnish - substances with the help of which various effects are achieved, the surface structure changes. Silk-screen printing of T-shirts can be done with paints with reflective properties, for example, metallized ones (gold, silver, bronze). Silk-screen printing on T-shirts, T-shirts and other clothes will make the products more stylish and durable.

When printing small runs, for example, when you need to apply a logo, screen printing will be more profitable. At the same cost compared to other types of printing, it will provide a brighter coverage.
