Painting a children's t-shirt. Painting on fabric. We create unique things with our own hands! Painting a children's T-shirt with acrylic paints

Painting on fabric.
We create unique things with our own hands!

Part 1.
Concept development.

This tutorial is based on a very specific piece of work I've been doing lately. My very good friend has a birthday soon. He is an artist, a graphic artist, quite an adult. A long time ago, I had the idea to paint a T-shirt for him (fortunately, the size is known).

It remains to decide on the concept.
Because man is our field's berry, I decided to emphasize this in my work. I'm probably the wrong artist) This time I didn't even make a sketch. But she made it clear to herself that:

The composition will be positioned from bottom left to top right.
the whole picture will be splashed paint of all colors with beautiful droplets, in which other objects are mixed.
paint will fly out of ... banana)))
the name of the person will be present at work (or rather, the name under which he draws)

That's actually all. Because I have a problem with letters, I asked my young man to help me in drawing up a sketch with the name of the birthday man.

When the sketch is ready:

I scan it and proceed to prepare the workspace.

Part 2.
Workspace preparation.

There is nothing complicated and long in this.
first what we need is of course - T-shirt(or any other textile - jeans, shirt, longsleeve).
Criteria by which I choose textiles:
a) ratio price quality- the thing should be moderately cheap, while of good quality. Preferably cotton fabric, with a minimum content of stretch fibers. So your finished work of art will not crack when strongly stretched (for example, when dressing).
b) clothes should not have a pattern - embroidery, printed patterns, etc. I believe that all this can interfere with the drawing and the process of its application.

this item optional although it is recommended. We need to find some kind of surface or hoop where we can pull our thing. Someone uses a shelf from an old closet for this, I used an ironing board and pins for this. Now I'm too lazy to pull it on) and I draw just like that, laying out the thing on the table)
So, the next point for the lazy ones like me:

Need a simple blank sheet of paper A4 size or more. What for? Even if you pull a T-shirt anywhere - on a shelf or on an ironing board - it is better to put a sheet of paper under the place where you draw. So, if the paint leaks, the paper will stick to the T-shirt, not the shelf or ironing board. If the paper is stuck and does not want to tear off, it can be carefully torn off around the stuck area. It will come off easily on the first wash.

The most important point - paints.
There are many colors, domestic and imported. Imported, of course, many are good. But they also cost quite a lot of money. So my choice fell on domestic paints. There are paints for textiles, acrylic, firms GAMMA. But I frankly didn’t like them, they are more like paints that need a contour. Strongly flow through the fibers.
I also found paints of the St. Petersburg plant "Nevskaya Palitra" in the paint shop. These are paints with the name DECOLA. I haven't tried anything better than them. They are moderately thick, do not flow through the fibers.
Sold in sets of 6.9 and 12 colors, as well as individual jars of 50 ml of all sorts of different colors, including fluores and metallics.

brushes. Important. I love working with acrylic columnar. Even more than synthetics. I have a lot of brushes, but I usually draw with the thinnest ones - 1,2 and 4. In general, I don’t need more.

Palette. My palette looks very scary) This is a simple square tile that my dad gave me back in 99) About 8 years ago I stopped washing it) And now it is covered with a thick layer of semi-rubber dried acrylic) You can also use just a white sheet, but this not the best option.

A very important element diluent for acrylic on fabric. It costs a penny, it is also sold in a container of 50 ml.

and lastly, a ballpoint pen for sketching.

Part 3
Drawing a sketch on the canvas.

As I wrote above, I don’t pull the T-shirt anywhere, I just lay it out on the table, put a white blank A4 sheet inside and get to work.

The whole concept is kept in my head, but part of the sketch is drawn. These are letters. The word is SHON. In order not to spoil the sketch itself, I scan it, clean it in Photoshop and print it again. The drawing should be quite large and I print on the entire A4 sheet. Next, I arrange it as it should be on a T-shirt and I pin with pins so that it does not fidget and the drawing does not slip.

How to transfer an image to clothes, which I use, will seem wild to someone)) But it is universal for both black and colored and white things.
I take a ballpoint pen of any color that writes, and I start to push through and break through the paper where there are lines in the sketch.

Do not be afraid, you will not spoil the fabric if the thing is dense enough and not stretchy. Also, this method is universal for clothes of any color because the pen does not just draw on the fabric, it leaves sagging grooves and even on black clothes they are clearly visible. After painting and washing, they will naturally disappear. The next photo clearly shows the trace of the handle and a small groove. And it’s also hard to get confused about what is already circled, what is not)

Thus, I outline the entire drawing, except for the smallest details, which will not be difficult to finish later. Gets something like this.

Some lines are hard to see. Some of them are only grooves. In order not to completely get confused when painting, I trace doubtful places with a pen. I also use the same pen to mark the main movement of the composition, the main elements, such as a can of paint, a banana, dynamically flying paint and other little things, without going into details.

Part 4
Painting.

When the rough sketch is ready and the letters are circled in the right places, I start painting.
I don't have a strict paint system. I start with those places that seem to me the simplest and I like the most)

It is better to apply the paint in more than one layer. Let the first coat dry, then apply another. Then, if desired, you can apply a third. So the paint will be juicy, it will not seem that it has been absorbed into the fabric. In addition, it will seem that the areas covered with paint are like rubber.

Next, I decided that I would paint the letters. They were supposed to be gold, since I turned out to have such a paint) I paint with brush No. 2. I don't need any more. Neat lines are initially important to me, because. I do not know yet how I will have the background.

See how the yellow liquid paint has soaked into the fabric and how faded the color has become? Conclusion: if the paint is light - do not be lazy, first walk in this place with white.
So, I'm trying to fix the situation:

The banana is covered with the main color) I begin to detail it. My teacher at the art school told me - if a person does work at different levels, then he has a problem with his head. Ideally, you need to make a normal sketch, then paint over everything with primary colors, then detail everything in the same way, and then direct the last marafet) I have everything through .. one place

Banana looks like this:

The overall picture is still not so good, and I'm going to fix it. I apply paint; roughly paint over the spray can, using silver and white)

Continuation:

I continue to apply colored paint blobs after looking at some references with colored blobs before doing so. Then, obeying some internal currents, without finishing painting over with the main color, I began to outline the banana)

I take brush number 2, dip it in black paint. I must say that I usually paint with thinner, mixing it with the color right on the palette. The black paint in my kit is fresh and thin enough that I can do without it.

I dip the very tip of the brush so that a small drop of paint appears on it, and I begin to “rub” it along the contour of my banana, moving the brush back and forth with a slight pressure.

video!

The beginning is drawn out, I rearranged the camera there. But in general, it seems clear what is happening on the screen)) I'm there cartoons in the background

The photo clearly shows the texture of the fabric, the overlay of paint, etc. The overall picture so far looks like this:

All right, now you can circle the letters. I don't like how it turns out yet, because the picture is still far from complete and there is a lot of work to be done. I trace letters and paints around in the manner described above, "rubbing". At the same time, the original sketch is open on the monitor so as not to get confused in the lines.

When the letters are outlined, I refine the background, getting the right colors by mixing with the addition of thinner.

Hooray! We're coming to an end! It remains to circle the brushes, pencils, jar and a little bit of paint and add missing highlights and ... voila! Job ready:

It remains to dry, fix from the inside with an iron, choose a gift package and give)

I hope the lesson was useful and interesting. Creative success!

PS: in order to avoid a huge number of identical questions or for those who fundamentally do not read comments:

AFTER CARE

Each box with paint or on it has instructions on how to care for a thing after heat treatment - how to wash and so on. Because paints from different companies are simply unmeasured on the thin market, I will give here only for DECOLA paints:

Wash ONLY manual. (at worst, in modern machines there is a function of gentle washing of wool and silk. But there is a possibility that the paint will wash off / crack / start to move away from the fabric in lumps. It is better to test a painted piece of fabric before washing a work of art there)
Wash water temperature no more than 40 degrees. Otherwise, your branded thing will be punished by the Punishment of the Wrong Temperature Regime.

It seems to be that's all. Things can withstand many washes, if you follow all the conditions and do everything carefully. I have a T-shirt that is 3.5 years old. The paint is not cracked, although the fabric is quite stretchy. Withstood many washes.

An on-site master class on painting T-shirts for children will help you easily leave an unforgettable experience for each participant of the event. Children will be able to create unique T-shirts with images of their favorite characters and wear them with pleasure for a long time.

Who is the Masterclass for?

The T-shirt painting master class is great for children from 3 to 15 years old. This is a great way to entertain guests at a birthday party or put on a spectacular show at a graduation party in a kindergarten or school.

Thematic images will leave the participants of the master class with the most pleasant and vivid memories of the time spent together:

  • solemn event,
  • the event to which it was timed,
  • happy school years.

How is the master class?

Everything is quite simple: you order an off-site master class in painting T-shirts, and we arrive at the specified place.

  • If you would like us to bring your own T-shirts, please indicate the number of participants in the event and the size of your children;
  • If you plan to buy T-shirts yourself, choose only natural fabrics and do not forget to wash and iron new T-shirts to eliminate the possibility of pre-sale preparation and treatment with special compounds that prevent the highest quality dyeing.

You will need

  • - markers
  • - acrylic paints and contours
  • - T-shirt
  • - simple pencil
  • - stencils
  • - paint for batik

Instruction

Abstraction. Roll the T-shirt into a knot, roll, or rope. Who likes it better. Soak it in paint designed for batik. It can be purchased at stationery or art supply stores. When you straighten the T-shirt, beautiful symmetrical patterns will be visible all over its surface. T-shirt can be tied with a cord or ribbon, while the patterns will be more interesting.

A drawing drawn with outlines or markers. With the help of a contour or a marker, you can draw a clear drawing. For this, there are special markers designed for light and dark fabrics.
Acrylic outlines are small tubes of paint that can be used to draw on fabric. The only thing that contours give way to markers is that you should press evenly on the tube to make the drawing look neater.
Stretch the t-shirt over a flat surface before applying the design. Select a sketch and transfer the design to a T-shirt using a simple pencil. Now you should outline it. If you want to color the drawing, then use acrylic paints.

Stencil. For lovers of pop art, stencils are perfect. Make a sketch on cardboard. The drawing can be anything - it is entirely your imagination. Remember, the drawing should be solid, and not consist of pieces.
Lay the resulting stencil on a T-shirt and paint over the entire sheet, then remove it.

Costume imitation. A very interesting approach to the design of a T-shirt would be a copy of the shirt of a movie or comic book hero. For example, on a dark T-shirt, paint a tie, buttons, and pockets with white paint.

The design is all over the t-shirt. A rather interesting solution would be a pattern stretching across the entire T-shirt. It doesn't have to be done on one side. For example, you can draw her paws on the back, and the muzzle in front, the tail can be drawn down the hem of the T-shirt.

Sometimes you want to do something original, with your own hands, as a keepsake. Something that others don't have. When you buy, for example, a T-shirt in a store, there is always a chance that you will meet someone in the same one. But you can always make your own, which no one will have.

You will need

  • Plain T-shirt, thick paper, pattern, cardboard (for fixing), fabric paint (or thermal paper), iron.

Instruction

First you need for the future. It can be an image of any event that happened, or any one you like. At this stage, you need to dream up a little. It is necessary to apply a drawing on thick paper and make two stencils on which paint will be applied. The first stencil will follow the outline of the drawing. On the second stencil there will be parts of the picture that have a different color.

In order not to spoil the T-shirt, you must first practice applying any unnecessary fabric on a piece. It is necessary to straighten the area of \u200b\u200bthe fabric on which the paint will be applied and fix it. Cardboard is suitable for this, as it can be inserted into a T-shirt. Next, you need to apply the first stencil and paint over it in the right place.

After the paint dries, you need to finish the elements using a second stencil. To fix, the applied paint usually needs to be ironed.

There is another way. It requires thermal paper, on which a pattern is printed using an inkjet printer. Any image is made (mirrored) and printed on thermal paper.

Next, you need to impose a pattern on a T-shirt and iron it at the highest temperature for a minute. Leave the drawing for 5 minutes to cool down. After removing the film, the drawing will be ready.

note

First you need to consult in the fabric store and purchase the paint that has the greatest durability.

Helpful advice

Thermal paper can be purchased at a print shop or online store.

Any plain t-shirt can be a canvas for your experiments. Armed with one jar of paint, you can paint over a T-shirt completely, create abstract patterns on the fabric or apply graphic symbols. To make the most ordinary thing unique, use several fabric painting techniques.

You will need

  • - T-shirt;
  • - paint on fabric;
  • - brush;
  • - threads;
  • - reserve for batik;
  • - cardboard;
  • - scissors.

Instruction

If you want to make a colorful canvas without clear boundaries with smooth color transitions, use the free painting technique. Moisten a T-shirt with a spray bottle, apply several shades alternately with wide brush strokes and let them spread over the surface.

To add a more defined shape to the design and limit the spread of color, try the technique of hot or cold batik. In the first case, those parts of the fabric that should remain light, unpainted, are impregnated with hot wax (using a brush), in the second, fragments of the pattern are outlined with a special reserve that will not let the paint go beyond its borders. Apply the drawing, referring to the sketch and moving from lighter to darker shades.

A painting made in one of the above ways can be supplemented with a three-dimensional contour - it performs only a decorative function and does not replace a reserve.

As stamps for a T-shirt, you can take halves of vegetables, which in the context have a heterogeneous texture. For example, half an onion can be dipped in fabric paint and applied to a T-shirt. Such patterns can cover the entire surface or only part of it.

There are fabric pigments that dissolve in a large amount of water and are originally designed to uniformly color the entire thing. To achieve a more unexpected and interesting effect, make a few “tucks” on the T-shirt, tie them with threads, put the T-shirt in a bath or basin and fill it with paint diluted (according to the instructions) on top. Without waiting for the fabric to get wet through, lay it on a dry, clean surface and let it dry (you can dry it with a hair dryer). After that, untie the knots. In these places, the paint forms smudges and voids, which result in an unusual pattern.

Helpful advice

Natural fabrics hold paint better, but recently many compounds have been produced that are also suitable for synthetics - look for information about this on the packaging. It should also say about the method of fixing the paint. As a rule, it is fixed by ironing the pattern from the wrong side.

  • how to paint a shirt

To put a picture or text on a T-shirt, it is not necessary to use any special equipment. Of course, this method is not universal, but it will help to make your T-shirt or sweatshirt unique. All materials and equipment used are present in almost every home.

You will need

  • - jet printer;
  • - A sheet of paper in A4 format;
  • - file (also A4);
  • - scissors or stationery knife;
  • - a spray bottle;
  • - several newspapers;
  • - finished drawing or text in A4 mirror image;
  • - a white cotton T-shirt (although it can be colored, but certainly light).

Instruction

Determine a place for printing and place newspapers under this place, but not under it itself, but inside so that the text is not printed on its second side. Iron the T-shirt. Although here you can do without an iron - iron it with your hands. The main thing is that everything should be smooth, without a single crease.

Insert a sheet of A4 paper into the file, and then cut off any excess with scissors or a clerical knife until the file takes the form of an A4 sheet. Next, insert the cut file with a piece of paper into the inkjet printer.

Now take a spray bottle filled with water and start spraying on the surface of the T-shirt in the place where the text or drawing will be. Just don't wet it too much, otherwise the paint will then spread. Just lightly dampen the T-shirt so that the ink absorbs evenly.

In some graphic editor (for example, in Photoshop), flip the image or text of your choice and print it to a file.

Check the printed image for print defects. Do not touch the paint as it can easily smudge. After all, the file is not paper, so the paint is not absorbed.

Now you can leave the shirt to dry. Once the T-shirt is dry, you can put it on and wear it. Or you can add another drawing.

  • where can i print on a t-shirt

Each of us strives to be bright and individual, different from others both in manifestations of character, and in such a seemingly completely ordinary life component as clothing. Interesting creative ideas have long been revered in society, you can’t surprise anyone with clothes bought in a store, but if you appear among friends in a non-standard T-shirt with an equally original pattern, most likely, more than one person will overcome you with questions about how to color the T-shirt yourself.

You will need

  • - T-shirt;
  • - cardboard;
  • - acrylic paints;
  • - brush;
  • - felt-tip pens for fabric;
  • - fabric spray
  • - a stencil with a drawing blank.

Instruction

Launder your T-shirt. This applies to previously worn items, and recently purchased. In the manufacture, special impregnations are often used, which subsequently prevent you from applying the paint evenly and prevent it from drying without streaks. After the T-shirt has been washed and dried, iron it for ease of use. If you have chosen a colored T-shirt, then check the effect of paint on the fabric in advance - it may turn out that the chemical reaction accompanying this process will color the T-shirt in a completely different color than you planned.

Place cardboard between two layers: back and front. This is necessary so that the paint does not seep to the other side and spoil the future masterpiece. Wrap the top of the cardboard with foil. Your t-shirt should be as if stretched over cardboard - only then will comfort for work be ensured, and the pattern will lie flat on the t-shirt.

Prepare the table for work. Cover it with newspaper or an unnecessary tablecloth. For convenience, you can attach a T-shirt with cardboard with tape to the table.

Start painting on a T-shirt. If you are not an artist, but more or less well-versed in these skills, apply the drawing yourself with special means: acrylic paints, or fabric sprays. You can buy all this in specialized stores or art salons. If you are not sure of your artistic skill, use a prepared stencil for this purpose. If desired, apply a drawing with a dampened sponge, a handprint or objects. Your imagination can be limitless. Remember that it is very convenient to circle all the drawn elements with felt-tip pens for fabric - the outlines of the picture will become clear, bright and not blurry.

Leave the painted T-shirt for 24 hours (the pattern on the fabric should dry well) and only then remove the cardboard. If you want to have the design on the back as well, repeat all the steps, flipping the T-shirt over to the other side.

To become the owner of an original and stylish T-shirt, it is not at all necessary to spend large sums on the work of designers. Moreover, you can not even sew a product from scratch, but simply take a ready-made thing and change it at your discretion.

How to make an original designer t-shirt

First, you should decide how the product should look like in the end, and also make a few. You can create your own T-shirt using your own ideas, or you can copy an item made by a famous designer. If neither option suits you, look at different works of fashion designers and take a few of your favorite ideas to create something unique with them.

Remember to evaluate your knowledge and skills to see what you can really do. For the manufacture of designer T-shirts, you can use appliqués, beads, sequins. You can also embroider the product with threads, use scissors and a sewing machine to create an original style. Finally, you can sew additional elements to the thing, supplement it with decorative inserts. Choose what you can do.

A simple and interesting option is a T-shirt with a gradient. Take a regular white T-shirt, wet it and wring it out so that the fabric is slightly damp. Then dilute in water a special fabric dye, which is sold in needlework stores. The color of the dye can be any of your choice - black, blue, red, green. Then, dip the bottom of the shirt into the container so that 1/3 of the fabric remains on the outside. Wait a few minutes and pull the T-shirt up 5-7 cm. Repeat this procedure until the entire product is removed. Then let it dry and hand wash. You will get a tank top with a gradient effect, which, if desired, can be supplemented with original decorations to make it look even more stylish.

There is also a more difficult option. Take a T-shirt and cut a part of its back so that you get stripes. They can be different in width - this will make the thing more original. Then work the edges of each strip so that the fabric does not “crumble” and the product is ready. Another option is to cut out the back altogether, and then fasten the front details with pre-prepared cords or strips of fabric.

T-shirts with inserts look interesting. Inserts can be made of fabric in a contrasting shade or texture. Another option is to complement the product with pieces of translucent fabric to make it more sexy. Finally, if you're good at knitting, make some flowers and leaves out of the yarn and attach them to the fabric. By the way, if you decide to finish a T-shirt that turned out to be short for you, just tie a ribbon of Bruges lace and attach it to the bottom edge. The shirt will become longer, more original, and more beautiful.

In the event that a creative streak does not allow you to wear consumer goods and you want to decorate a T-shirt with a print of your own authorship, you can take your time visiting a photo salon. It is much more interesting to paint a T-shirt with acrylic paints yourself.

Often acrylic paints are too thick, which makes it difficult to work with them. You can even dilute acrylic with water if there is no other way. But this will reduce the quality of the paint and subsequently it will be washed off the T-shirt faster. It is best to use thinner for acrylic paints, it is important that it is of the same brand as the paints. The layer of paint on the fabric must be uniform and not thick, otherwise it may not be fixed. It is always better to do 2-3 thin coats than one thick coat, that's what thinner is for. The better the paint saturates the fabric, the better and more durable the pattern will be. When mixing paints, it is important to do it as quickly as possible, so the colors will be brighter.

The drawing must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours. Then you can start fixing it. Fix the pattern with an iron, ironing it through gauze or cotton fabric at the maximum temperature allowed for the fabric. Washing and any exposure to water is allowed 48 hours after fixing. When washing, use only mild detergents, the water temperature should not exceed 30-40 degrees. Long spinning at high speeds cannot be used; T-shirts painted with acrylics are washed, wrung out and dried like delicate fabrics.

Sometimes there is a desire to sew some fashionable thing on your own. For example, an original stylish T-shirt that others do not have. Basically, it's not that hard. It is enough to be able to hold a needle in your hands.

We think, choose the source materials

First, you need to think about the model. Will the T-shirt be tight-fitting or loose-fitting, with what it can be worn, with what accessories to combine.

Based on this, you need to choose the appropriate material and accessories. It is advisable to choose a fabric that does not crumble when cut, as it will be difficult for non-professionals to evenly overcast the edges and evenly stitch the seams. Therefore, satin and silk are best left for later. But viscose or cotton in combination with elastane is quite suitable.

How to cut

You can perform a classic cut, take measurements, draw a drawing and make a pattern, according to which you can then cut the future T-shirt. To do this, you will need the following measurements: half-waist, half-chest, half-neck, shoulder, product length.

But there is an easier way. It is relevant if the T-shirt is loose or oblique. You just need to carefully spread your own or blouse on the floor and outline it with chalk. Based on the resulting drawing, it will be very easy to tailor a new thing.

Loose fit has its advantages - you can design some original element, for example, a back vent or a batwing sleeve. Isn't it enough? Fantasy will turn your homemade t-shirt into a true work of art. The main thing is to make sure that all the seams are even and nothing sticks out anywhere, then you get a really designer thing.

Decor

The most interesting thing in sewing is decoration. This is what makes a thing unique. T-shirts can be customized with anything. Flowers, large multi-colored buttons, applications and even fur will be used. The main thing is not to overdo it. A well-designed T-shirt will look beautiful and fashionable. So, for example, if you decide to decorate it with a large element, then let it be one. In this case, it is better if it is located on the chest, shifted slightly to the side. A word of advice: when you put on such a T-shirt, it is better to collect your hair in a bun or ponytail.

Small details will look exquisite if placed correctly. Sequins can be sewn on. It is good to group them into an application or scatter them in rare rows over the entire surface. Stones decorating the neckline or sleeve will also look good. You can also sew shoulder straps.

Or you can decorate with nothing at all. It is enough to choose a suitable decoration that can be changed every time.

Summer is the perfect time to experiment with clothes. Original t-shirts, t-shirts and shorts will always be appropriate and will contribute to finding a summer mood. The most interesting transformation can be the painting of T-shirts. Having fantasized a little and showing your creative abilities, you can make a real masterpiece out of an inconspicuous piece of clothing. Such a T-shirt will make you pay attention not only to your friends, but also to ordinary passers-by.

Preparation for work and selection of materials

To paint a T-shirt with your own hands, you need to carefully prepare for the process itself. Even before starting work, you need to prepare all the necessary materials, so that later you will not be distracted by trifles. In addition, it is important to choose a pattern that will match your character and be combined with other items of clothing.

Before painting a T-shirt with acrylic paints, needs to be correct pick up all the necessary materials and tools for the job. It is on this that the attractive appearance of the finished garment will depend. For creative work you will need the following items:

  1. Single color cotton T-shirt. It is better not to use any other material, as over time the T-shirt will stretch and deform the pattern. For work, a new and unworn item is suitable. However, beginners can try their hand at some unnecessary piece of clothing.
  2. Brushes with natural bristles. Any other options are unacceptable, as after them there may be stains on the material.
  3. Special acrylic paints for fabric painting. They can be found in any specialized store selling goods for artists.
  4. Black marker.
  5. Simple pencil.
  6. Stationery clips.
  7. Clothespins.
  8. Palette for mixing paints. For these purposes, an ordinary plastic plate or a piece of unnecessary cardboard is suitable.
  9. Board for stretching the material. You can use high density cardboard instead.

Methods for painting on fabric

There are five main ways to paint T-shirts and plain T-shirts., they allow you to transform a T-shirt and make it stand out from hundreds of others.

Such an exclusive piece of clothing will become your constant companion and help you become more visible.

Variants of painting various items of clothing:

  1. Abstraction. Based on your preferences, the T-shirt is folded into a knot, roll or tourniquet. After that, it is impregnated with batik paint (you can find it in stores selling goods for needlework). After drying, the T-shirt is straightened and smoothed. If you did everything right, then abstract symmetrical patterns will be visible on its surface. The finished product is tied with a ribbon, which makes the drawing more complete.
  2. Outlines or markers. With their help, not clothes, you can apply an image with clear outlines. There are markers for dark and light fabrics. Acrylic outlines are tubes with a special paint that is designed for drawing on fabric. Their only disadvantage, compared to markers, is the need for uniform application. Before starting work, the T-shirt is stretched onto a smooth surface. Then the image you like is selected and transferred to the fabric with a simple pencil. The edges are outlined and the drawing is painted.
  3. Stencil. This option is perfect for fans of pop art. First of all, a sketch of the future image is drawn on cardboard. After that, it is laid on a stretched T-shirt and completely painted over with paint. Then, the cardboard sketch is removed, and the image remains.
  4. Costume imitation. Recently, the design of clothing items in the likeness of the costumes of cartoon or movie characters has become popular. A white tie, pockets and buttons on a black or dark blue T-shirt will look very original.
  5. Image on the entire surface. An excellent option for decorating clothes would be a pattern passing through the entire surface of the T-shirt. For example, the beginning of the image will be at the front and the ending at the back. T-shirts with the image of animals are often decorated in this style.

Drawing on T-shirts with acrylic paints provides for the manifestation of your creative abilities. In order to reveal them fully, necessary consider the advice of experienced craftsmen and not repeat their mistakes. The following tips should be highlighted:

  1. Before starting work, be sure to wash and dry the item of clothing that you are going to paint. After that, it is ironed and stretched onto a frame for batik.
  2. If you want to get a drawing without any clear outlines and with smooth color transitions, then you can use the free image drawing technique. It consists in the arbitrary application of several shades. After that, they are allowed to spread over the T-shirt.
  3. To obtain an image with clear shapes and boundaries, you should apply the technique of cold or hot batik. In the first case, the details of the drawing are outlined with a special composition that prevents the paint from spreading outside the drawing. In the second case, the light parts of the image are impregnated with wax, which prevents them from coloring. The drawing is applied with strict adherence to the sketch, starting with light details and ending with dark ones.
  4. To give reality to the drawing, it is necessary to supplement it with a volumetric contour.

Coloring clothes

Each of us is a person with his own individual character traits, ambitions and needs. Therefore, many strive to stand out from the crowd and become different from everyone else. It will help to wear original designed clothes made by yourself.

It will be impossible to buy such a thing in a store, so you will immediately become noticeable among the general crowd.

Easy option

This option for decorating wardrobe items is great for beginners. It is simple, does not require special skills and abilities, so even a child can handle it. In order to turn an old thing into an exclusive piece of clothing, you need: a plain T-shirt, a sheet of cardboard, a brush, acrylic paint, fabric spray, a felt-tip pen, a stencil of the selected pattern.

A painted T-shirt is made as follows:

  1. The plain t-shirt washes well. This also applies to a new item, since a special impregnation may have been used in its manufacture, which may prevent uniform application of paint.
  2. After drying, it is gently ironed.
  3. A sheet of cardboard is taken and inserted between layers of clothing. It is important not just to put it on, but to pull it. This is done so that when painting the front of the shirt, the paint does not leak onto the back. For greater convenience, cardboard can be wrapped in foil.
  4. After that, the work surface is prepared. To do this, she is covered with an old cloth or newspaper. In order for the T-shirt not to slip, it can be glued to the table with adhesive tape.
  5. Now the drawing process begins. If you have artistic abilities, then you can apply the image yourself using sprays, acrylic paints and felt-tip pens. If you have never drawn serious drawings, then it is better not to experiment and use prepared stencils.
  6. The finished product is left to dry for a day.
  7. After this specified period of time, the cardboard lining is removed from the workpiece.
  8. If you need to apply the pattern to the back of the clothes, then you need to repeat all the same steps again.

Acrylic paints

If you are a creative person and have a lot of decor ideas, then you can take a simple T-shirt and paint it with acrylics. This is a difficult and long process that will require patience and accuracy from you, but you can rightly be proud of the end result.

Acrylic is great for this. It is well absorbed into the fabric and retains all its properties for a long period of time.

If you search a little, you can find paint that will glow in the dark or have a matte effect. When buying this material, you must consider the suitability of the type of fabric you have chosen.

The finished product can be washed within two days after the end of work. Washing should be done in warm water with the addition of mild detergents. For a T-shirt painted with acrylic, the same modes apply as for a fabric that requires careful handling.

Batik painting

This painting option is not available to everyone, as it involves the use of expensive and rare materials. They can not always be found even in a specialized store, so they are replaced by more affordable counterparts.

For painting batik, you must perform the following steps:

  1. A special frame is taken on which the source material is stretched.
  2. The surface of the T-shirt is wetted with a large brush.
  3. Until the material is dry, a drawing is applied. There are no preliminary sketches in this technique, so only those people who have artistic abilities should take it.
  4. After that, the entire surface of the T-shirt is sprinkled with urea or salt.
  5. After the final drying of the material, the salt or urea is removed, and the T-shirt is removed from the frame.
  6. To fix the pattern, the T-shirt is steamed for two hours.
  7. Then it is removed and washed in hot water with the addition of detergent.
  8. At the end, the fabric is ironed when wet.
