Where to work as a freelancer. Where to look for clients (other than exchanges)? List of the best sites for remote work

Hello dear readers and guests.

For those who have not worked with exchanges yet and do not know where to start, I advise you to read my previous article, in which I talk in more detail about.

Freelance exchanges and sites by category

Best freelance exchanges

Here are collected the most popular sites among freelancers and customers, where you can find tasks in all possible:

  • fl.ru is the # 1 freelance exchange in Russia and the CIS. More suitable for professionals with a good portfolio and experience, it is difficult for beginners to break through there. For full-fledged work, you need to pay your account monthly.

  • work-zilla.com is an exchange for beginners, you can find thousands of different simple tasks and try your hand at freelancing. Read on.
  • freelancejob.ru - remote work for professional freelancers with a good portfolio.
  • kwork.ru - the site allows you to offer and sell your services at a single price of 500 rubles.

Exchanges for copywriters and rewriters

If you can write and can type on the keyboard, then on these exchanges you can easily find tasks for writing texts, selling articles, translations, etc.

  • etxt.ru is a popular remote work exchange for copywriters, rewriters and translators. Ordering and selling articles on any topic. See detailed.

  • fll.ru is a service for posting tasks and finding remote work in the field of writing texts.
  • neotext.ru - content exchange and article store.

Websites for 1C-specialists and programmers

I didn't find many specialized sites for IT specialists and programmers. Further, when we consider these professions in more detail, I will give many more examples of various forums and portals where you can find good remote work for programmers.

  • 1clancer.ru is an exchange for 1C programmers and specialists from all CIS countries.
  • devhuman.com is a service for IT professionals, programmers, startups and other professionals that allows you to quickly create a team for your project.
  • modber.ru is another site for 1C professionals.

It would seem that so much has already been written on this topic, so many webinars are devoted to this issue, but all the same, beginners and not only sometimes ask it in specialized communities.

This question can have several shades:

Where to look for NORMAL customers?

Where to look for clients who will pay generously?

After all, this is exactly what every freelancer dreams of finding: so that they cannot endure the brain with endless edits, and pay for the work at their true worth.

But sometimes it's too lazy to think for yourself. Sometimes you just want someone more experienced to take the hand, lead it where necessary and say - here and hunt.

Today I will be just such a “more experienced” one (I have been freelancing for more than 7 years, I think it is already possible :)), and I will tell you where you can look for such customers.

Why not exchanges?

Yes, every second person will send you to freelance exchanges. These are the most suitable sites for those who are starting out who want to find a job for the first time. There are many one-time, small orders, and if you do not consider freelancing as a source of serious income, or are just taking your first steps, this is exactly what you need.

Yes, decent projects with good pay, with normal clients come across on the exchanges. Unfortunately, there are very few of them, especially when it comes to content exchanges. And if you're looking for serious, long-term orders with good pay, this is not the place for you.

There is a lot of cheap, badly paid work on the exchange;

There are a lot of outbids on the stock exchanges, intermediaries who use freelancers almost like galley slaves;

To start earning decently, you need to develop a rating - and this is done not in a month or even in a year.

The exchanges also have pluses: a safe transaction, arbitrage, and there are a dime a dozen of those orders ... if it is very hot and you urgently need to earn a few rubles, then you will be welcome.

But if you want to reach a new level of income, earn respect and some kind of authority, for which they will be willing to pay, you are not here.

So where to look?

Pay attention to the following methods. Almost all have been tested on themselves. I have not worked at the stock exchange for many years, and I do not need work.

I am missing the option to launch my own website and promote it. This requires a certain amount of knowledge, time and money. Especially if you want to add a little context. The site needs to be dealt with, and the freelancer often remains a shoemaker without boots, because there is just no time (and if there is, it is better to spend it on more useful and interesting things).

Consider simpler options that do not require you to invest money.

Job search sites

For some reason, rarely any freelancer thinks to go the most obvious way: go to job search sites like HeadHunter. Guys, here they are not only looking for full-time employees, not only office employees. Use the site search, filter the vacancies for which you are looking for a remote employee - and you will be very surprised how many remote workers and freelancers are needed here. Work - the field is not plowed.

Here's the proof. In Ukraine, I immediately found 27 fresh vacancies:

And the pay here is an order of magnitude higher than on the stock exchange, and employers are focused on long-term cooperation.

Yes, outburs and intermediaries, as well as companies that are not averse to cash in on your cheap labor, have also come here. I was convinced of this myself, looking through the vacancies of a copywriter - and here you can often find vacancies with "decent wages" of 15 rubles per 1000 characters. Basically, these are all kinds of content agencies. Weed out such vacancies, that's all. There are still more good ones.

Be sure to leave your resume on one or two sites, view and apply for vacancies. You will find a decent job sooner or later.

I had to look for new projects this way. Found a job in half a day.

Social network

Another obvious option, and many people use it, but use it a little out of their minds. You can find a job on social media in different ways:

Join communities where freelance projects are published. For example, something like this https://vk.com/garantfreelance ... Browse the feed and look for a suitable assignment. Projects, as well as on exchanges, are very different, and with different payments.

Join communities where entrepreneurs hang out, participate in discussions, promoting yourself in this way. Only not directly, but giving recommendations and advice. In this way, you create an aura of expertise around yourself, and you can find a job. Yes, it takes a long time, but it's worth it.

Use the search and find vacancies, which are sometimes published directly on your wall, by keyword - the name of your profession.

Find communities of interest, which often have specific job topics. For example:

Go to the topic, look for a suitable task and contact the client ...

In the same communities, you can find separate topics with proposals from freelancers. Write there about yourself, it will not be superfluous.

These are the simplest and most obvious ways. Instead of looking at cats, use social media for the benefit of your loved one.

Yes, you can still promote yourself, create a page, rivet useful content and connect a target. But this is already a very expensive way - both in time and in money. Start small.

Partners, your connections

Sooner or later, you have friends and comrades who work as freelancers like you, but specialists of a different profile. Marketers, web designers, programmers. Ask them to recommend you to their clients. It is not difficult for them, but you have additional work, and even on a recommendation.

Moreover, you are not a competitor to your friends in this case - your areas of work and responsibilities are completely different. If a friend is a good friend, then you can tell about your predicament, maybe he will just have an interesting offer for you.

Guest publications

This is not a direct job search, this is a job for the future. These are the first steps towards building your personal brand.

Write helpful articles, give advice to business owners and junior colleagues. Post these posts in groups on social networks, where there are many entrepreneurs. That is, your potential customers. If you show your expertise, then sooner or later they will turn to you for help and may offer a job. Especially if your articles hit the mark.

And you don't need to think that you will have to write about the complex. No, you need to write simply and about the simplest - believe me, many entrepreneurs do not understand anything about your work.

In exactly the same way, you can create guest articles on other sites where the audience is suitable. For example, a marketer, web designer, copywriter might try to publish on Texterra's blog, Cossa, and similar sites. A good publication is sure to draw attention to your person.

As you can see, there are many ways to find a good client. You just need to want to find this very client, and not sit idly by. The wolf is fed by the legs, and the freelancer - quick brains and constant search for new clients.

Where can you find a person who will customize your site, work on its content and promotion, write texts, select and process pictures? With 1C-UMI, you can easily do it yourself or with our help. An alternative is to hire a freelancer on the freelance exchange.

There are a lot of resources, where highly qualified specialists live, both on the RuNet and throughout the entire network. All you need to do is throw a cry in the form of an ad to attract the right freelancers to work on your web project, if you already have one and was created on 1C-UMI.

Let's see how to look for a specialist on several remote work exchanges.

We are looking for a freelancer on fl.ru

Before publishing a project, you must register here. It is desirable as an employer so that you can subsequently exchange feedback with the performers. However, it is now possible to submit ads from a freelancer profile. There are only a couple of restrictions - you cannot create an order and you cannot leave a review upon completion of work

So, you have registered on fl.ru and want to find a freelancer to work on the site. Log in with your account and click on the "Publish task" button.

A form opens to fill out. First, we indicate the name of the project. It can be something arbitrary. For example, "We need a turnkey website" or "A copywriter is required to fill the site."

After that, we write in detail about what you need to do. Let's say, “You need to fill a site created on 1C-UMI with unique texts. We are ready to pay 200 rubles for 1000 characters. Only write to experienced copywriters! "

Optionally, you can attach any file (TK, layout or whatever).

Then the project specialization and budget are indicated. Be careful not to confuse specializations.

If you do not know which subcategory to choose, then leave the default on "All specialties". This will allow everyone who belongs to the main specialization "Website Development" or any other that you need to see the project.

Next, you can indicate the amount of remuneration for a freelancer, or check the box "By agreement" if you suddenly do not know how much such work might cost. In this case, the contractor will tell you his own price, and you will agree on it.

After filling in all the fields, click on the "Publish project" button.

Next, you will begin to receive applications from freelancers, you can read them without any problems in your project. The performers you like can be added to the list of candidates, then you can choose one of them as performers. And as for those whose offers did not suit you, they can be given an official refusal within the functionality of the fl.ru exchange.

One important nuance: the moderators of this resource do not sleep, so only one-time tasks can be published in projects. If you need a person to do a permanent job, you must post a paid vacancy according to the rules of the site.

We are looking for a freelancer on freelance.ru

Unlike the exchange discussed above, the account of the performer and the employer is combined on freelance.ru. So to say, 2 in 1. It is convenient, since you do not need to create two accounts at once, it is enough to register once to use the site both as an employer and as a freelancer.

To publish a project or vacancy, use the "Submit Job" button.

You can also try an alternative way through the top menu. Click on the link "Hire a freelancer" and then select one of the items: "Submit task (project)" or "Add vacancy".

In any case, a page opens with a form that you need to fill out.

First, we indicate the name of the project. Similar to the previous freelance exchange.

After that, we indicate the cost of the project and the deadline. As in the case with fl.ru, here you can tick the "Negotiated" item so as not to indicate a specific budget.

Now you need to choose payment options. At the moment there are 4 options available:

  1. No prepayment.
  2. Prepayment is possible.
  3. Safe deal.
  4. Conclusion of a contract.

Next, there is one important point that allows you to open access to the project to all freelancers or restrict it for those who have not purchased a business account. We recommend unchecking this function, since among those who have not purchased a paid service, there are also many worthy specialists who are ready to take up your project.

Below you need to write in detail what a freelancer needs to do. Describe the project itself, as well as the mandatory requirements. For example, "Send texts only in Microsoft Word with 100% uniqueness according to TEXT.ru" or "The site must have a pop-up application form and a cost calculator."

Even below it is possible to add up to 5 files, each of which should weigh no more than 5 MB.

After that, the time of publication of the project is indicated. You can choose from one week to a month.

Then you need to tick the box for familiarization and agreement with the rules and click on the "Place" button.

Offers from freelancers will start coming soon. You will be able to communicate with them within the framework of the project, choose an artist and start cooperation with him.

Job posting is done in a similar way. Only the payment option is not indicated, but instead of describing the task and requirements for the results of the work, it is necessary to indicate the scope of the contractor's responsibilities and requirements for the candidate.

How else can you find a freelancer

Alternatively, you can try looking for a specialist to work on the site in the freelance directory. Many exchanges have special filters that allow you to select criteria by specialization, employment, reviews, etc.

Fl.ru has the most advanced filter. Here you can select freelancers based on a variety of criteria.

As for freelance.ru, there is a more modest filter here. But even with such a tool, you can easily find an artist for your project.

As you can see, finding a freelancer to work on the site is not a problem! Use our instructions and you will succeed!

When choosing a product or service, people in 55% of cases will turn to family members for information, in 54% - to friends, and the same number will read reviews on the Internet. And 78% of respondents surveyed by Sprout Social said they would recommend a product or service to family and friends if they were happy with the quality. Therefore, ask your friends, acquaintances or clients (if you have worked in the office before) if they have any people in mind who would benefit from your services.

This advice is especially relevant for novice freelancers: it is better to "practice" with more or less loyal people who will not leave bad reviews if they are not satisfied with the result.

"Upgrade" the profile in social networks

If you like to post pictures with cats and memes, you will have your own approach to social networks. Alas, cats will not help find new clients.

Indicate what you are doing, open contacts and the ability to send you messages. A potential client, entering your page, should understand that he can order a service from you.

Write a post about what you are doing and ask your friends for reposts. Promise a nice (but preferably not monetary) bonus for a new customer.

Publish more professional information - this will create an image of an expert and increase awareness, and therefore add value to your services.

What else can you do:

  • create content for professional sites and communities;
  • devote 10-20 minutes a day to expert commenting - to answer public questions of the target audience;
  • conduct thematic webinars or live broadcasts.

Attract paid traffic to your resources - this way you will accelerate their growth.

If you have a website, do SEO, use meta tags. Articles that rank well in search results will bring organic traffic to your site. It is also helpful to publish news from your area.

Register on the freelance exchange

It is better to register on several exchanges at once. Be prepared for high competition and the fact that sometimes you will have to pay for your services (so that the order is not "overbought").

There are really a lot of customers on the exchanges. And although there are also a lot of performers, there is often not enough competent specialists who fulfill the agreed conditions, do the work efficiently, are responsible for mistakes and correct them.

If you approach your work conscientiously and responsibly, you can find a permanent customer on the exchange and work with him for several years.
