Restaurant in the 4 seasons hotel. Sunday brunch at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow. The most common pitfalls when renting restaurants

When I was going to Moscow to give master classes, the most important requirement for the hotel was one thing - location. So that you don’t have to rush anywhere, so you can relax between classes and just quickly change clothes and go for an evening walk. Therefore, the issue of choosing a hotel was resolved very quickly. When I saw Four Seasons on the list (by the way, the hotel staff said that it was correct to call it Four Seasons, and not four seasons or seasons).

Another factor in favor of the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow is my past pleasant experience. I was at a hotel of this chain in Hong Kong, remember, when I met their head pastry chef Nicolas Lambert (beautiful desserts and history). Then I really liked the style - luxurious, but not pretentious. In addition, the Four Seasons chain is known for its picky attitude towards chefs and pastry chefs, which meant there was a chance to meet a worthy colleague.

The hotel is located in the building of the former Moscow Hotel, the place is truly legendary, and in addition, unprecedentedly convenient. The windows offer stunning views of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Kremlin, Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral and the Duma. My master classes took place literally across the wall from the hotel. An obvious plus is the view from the window.

The confectionery counter in Silk Lounge is an irresistible temptation for those with a sweet tooth. What could be more pleasant than a fragrant cup of coffee with fresh pastries in the morning and tea with your favorite dessert in the afternoon?

The higher class rooms even have open pistes with a view of Moscow. They differ in size, number of rooms and functionality, for example, there are rooms for security (video surveillance, etc.).

As for food, everything is excellent here. Breakfast buffet style. The choice is very large, a lot of cheeses, sausages and fresh fruits, and these are tropical exotics, and not peaches from a jar in their own juice. Tea, coffee and other drinks are served to you by waiters, which further brightens up your morning breakfast. I arranged themed days for myself so that I could try all the proposed items in five days, the dish was never repeated - the choice is huge.

In addition to breakfast, there are five Four Seasons Hotel Moscow restaurants and bars on site (including Italian and Russian cuisine) that can satisfy even the most demanding taste.

Quadrum Restaurant.
A find for connoisseurs of Italian cuisine and fine wines. The windows offer views of Manezhnaya Square, and the interiors are designed in an elegant modern style.

Restaurant Bystro.
Located on the second floor of the hotel, it specializes in Russian cuisine with an unusual Scandinavian accent. In the morning you will find a buffet breakfast here, and in the evening you can order an a la carte dinner.

Bar Moskovsky.
A top-notch team of bartenders expertly mix spirits, fresh juices, homemade syrups and garnishes to create classic and experimental cocktails that you can enjoy in a stylish and cozy atmosphere accompanied by jazz music.

In addition, there is a cozy cafe by the pool. And also room service. Before going to bed, I ordered myself tea to accompany the sweets that I had purchased in Moscow confectionery shops to try, and they brought it quite quickly, considering the late hour. I think it would take me about the same amount of time to brew a kettle myself)

The Four Seasons Hotel Moscow is definitely one of the best in Moscow. What can I say, the entire Four Seasons chain in the world has strong authority, a recognizable style and certain features that you quickly get used to and choose these hotels again and again. Rich and calm interiors, good layout and equipment of the rooms, fast service and incredible service. The stay left the most pleasant impressions. I was surprised by the service and the fact that they remember each guest by name (how they do this remains a big mystery to me). The service in and out of the rooms is amazing. And the ideal location in itself is the hotel’s strongest point, if we talk about Moscow and its traffic jams. Within walking distance are Red Square, the Bolshoi Theatre, GUM, TSUM and Children's World, as well as a large number of iconic restaurants and walking streets.

You can book your hotel right now.

Elite drinks, black caviar and venison carpaccio: the Xander bar and the Tea Room restaurant have opened in the new hotel.

Behind St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Four Seasons has finally been completed - a luxury hotel in the mansion of Prince Lobanov-Rostovsky, built at the beginning of the 19th century according to Montferrand's design. The building is also known as the “House of Lions,” and its reconstruction has been closely watched all this time by both the public and the descendants of the princely family itself. Behind the austere facade with monumental columns and famous sculptures of lions made of white Carrara marble, there are now rich interiors and four establishments with cuisine from the Italian Andrea Accordi (the Onice restaurant at the Villa La Vedetta hotel in Florence and the Allegro restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel in Prague). The first two are already open to visitors, and the Asian Sintoho and Italian Percorso are preparing to launch.

Andrea Accordi provides overall management of all hotel projects, but each restaurant will have its own chef. The “Tea Lounge” and the Xander bar have one - they are led by Ruslan Shipunov, who previously worked at miX in Saint-Petersburg.

If you pass a couple of doormen at the entrance, and then walk straight through the hall shining with gold and mirrors, you find yourself in the “Tea Lounge”. To the right is the fashionable Xander. The latter is named after Alexander I, who ruled the country during the construction of the mansion. The design was handled by Sheryl Rowley, a company that has done interiors for reputable hotels around the world. The walls are lined with olive root panels, the floor is made of walnut, and there are antique books on the shelves. The furniture, however, is modern, made to order. In the Xander bar, people in good jackets smoke cigars in armchairs by the fireplace, well-trained waiters stand at attention nearby, and the menu includes Krug Vintage 1996 champagne for 42,000 rubles and beluga caviar (12,000 rubles for 28.4 grams, 42,000 for 113 gram). In addition to the impressive numbers, almost 40 varieties of vodka and 12 types of champagne, cocktails (Xander Sidecar based on Hennessy VSOP - 1020 rubles), and light snacks like scallop ceviche (720 rubles) and oysters (3 pieces Fin de Claire - 750 rubles) . The latter will be on the menu all year round; origin depends on the season, delivery is on Mondays and Thursdays.

"Classic Smokey"»
(Jim Beam Black whiskey, sugar, Angostura, smoke), 750 rub.

« Cosmopolitan» (vodka« Tsarskaya» , cointreau, fruit drink, lemon), 450 rub.

Despite the difference in specializations, the approach to cuisine is similar everywhere. They focus on the quality of products, trying to use local products whenever possible. According to Andrea, there is a lack of variety, but some items are very good: vegetables, chicken, rabbit, quail, crayfish and pike perch. Sturgeon and beluga caviar are brought from Astrakhan, salmon caviar from Sakhalin.

The Tea Room looks more like a Mediterranean patio than a living room: there is a lot of greenery, white and cream trim, and a heated glass roof instead of a ceiling so that the sky can be seen even in winter, regardless of the level of precipitation.

For the Tea Room, Andrea Accordi created a laconic menu, where well-known names are complemented by unexpected details. The focus on haute cuisine and sophistication is expressed not so much in the method of preparing a dish, but in the search for new taste combinations. For example, carpaccio here is made from smoked venison with marinated foie gras in spices and beetroot sauce (670 rubles), caramelized chicory and potato salad are served with Kiev cutlet (720 rubles), and Caesar is made with lobster, olive croutons and crispy chorizo chips (1200 rubles).

Foie gras Au Torchon, 780 rub.

Kamchatka crab salad, 760 rub.

Asian marinated salmon, 690 rub.

Fried sea bass, 1300 rub.

While Xander and the Tea Room can only be accessed through the hotel lobby, the other two projects will have a separate entrance from St. Isaac’s Square and are positioned as “independent.” Their design is handled by the Japanese company Design Studio SPIN, and the concepts, menu and launch dates are still at the approval stage.

The chef's reputation and his two Michelin stars (taking into account that he was the first to receive one of them in all of Eastern Europe) are very eloquent arguments in favor of Four Seasons. At the same time, although the prices here are high, they are not exorbitant – the restaurants in the “House with Lions” are accessible to a fairly wide audience. Probably, not everyone will feel comfortable in such a stilted interior, but the format itself does not detract from itself - the hotel space is deliberately positioned as luxurious and aristocratic, and it is unlikely that anyone would even think of coming here in sneakers. At least beauty is the first thing guests describe in their impressions after a test visit. As for the surroundings, the Four Seasons, although located in the midst of the most elite hotels in St. Petersburg, does not at all replicate them in style - unlike the W-hotel, the interiors here are extremely classic, and unlike Astoria, they are noticeably more pompous.

It’s interesting that they planned something unusual in the design of the other two restaurants, and the cuisine is no less interesting. In the meantime, I would like to think that Four Seasons will perform at its recognized global level and become another step in the development of the fine dining genre for St. Petersburg.
