Printable background for scrapbooking. Scrapbooking backgrounds for printing - what are the backgrounds for, which ones to choose and where to look for them. Crafts from scrap paper

More recently, Scrapbooking was for us something mysterious and unknown! But today he won the hearts of many and became an integral part of our life :) More and more people every day join this wonderful art form, and magic pages and charming postcards are born!

Many are afraid to start, just because they do not have the necessary materials. But I want to note - we ourselves put obstacles, because our creativity can be limited only by our inspiration and imagination! And from my own experience I’ll notice how many different ribbons, stamps, pieces of paper and other things that are so dear to us, we did not buy, there will always be not enough :)
So before you order half of the product in the online store, when your eyes run wide and you want everything at once, I suggest practicing on more affordable things. And with experience, you will already learn to understand what is really needed to realize your fantasies.

And so, we will solve the issue with paper, because this is the basis of everything. The easiest way is to print it on a printer (I think that in every house there is such a thing, and if not, then you can buy the simplest inkjet printer for 1000 r). Do not forget that the printer, like a machine, sometimes requires that it be refilled :) For this, we need a set of syringes with ink, which, for example, lasts for six months. And now, the machine is ready for work, it remains to pick up the paper on which we will print. To start, so as not to spoil it, I advise you to use regular office paper, and then, when you make friends with the printer and it starts printing exactly what you want, you can go to any art store and buy pastel paper and watercolor paper. Personally, I prefer to print on watercolor paper.

Now we need to find the background. In addition to the usual scrapbooking, there is also such a thing as digital scrapbooking (scrapbooking on a computer), and it’s just how they create the same wonderful paper, but in electronic form. We need it. To get started, you can see here http://www.shabbyprincess.com/, but here are a large number of scans in excellent quality. Download what you liked and proceed to the final stage.
The background needs to be implemented so that it can be touched with your hands :) And this is exactly what our printer, frozen in anticipation, will do!

There are several advantages of printed paper over real scrapbooking:

You can always print more if you mess it up!

If you print several backgrounds, and then understand that they do not mix with each other, it will not be so offensive as for the purchased paper :)

You can change the color of the same background, getting completely different paper (we can talk about this in more detail, if necessary).

The background can always be printed to the desired size.

Now about the disadvantages:

The largest page size will not be 30x30, but 20x20.

Some scrapbooking paper comes with various coatings (velvet, golden inserts, etc.), we cannot print this.

Scrap paper is double-sided (though not always), but if you glue two printed backgrounds together, we will also get worse.

Purchased paper is made of acid-free materials, so that the pictures do not spoil, I can’t say anything here, I don’t know how our printout will affect the photo in 50 years :)

Well, that seems to be all!

P.S. I wish you good beginnings, and in the next part we will talk about toning the edges!

The main material of this type of decorative art like scrapbooking is backgrounds for printing. The background of the work is paper with a certain pattern and color, which are the inspiration for creating the creation.

The name "scrapbooking" consists of two English words - skrap (clipping) and book (book). In the exact meaning of scrapbooking - the creation of books, albums, notebooks from paper clippings. But in practice, this word means any needlework with paper, including the creation of postcards, magnets, etc.

The drawings for scrapbooking in good quality are very different. Bright and matte, striped and polka dot, floral, with floral ornaments, with geometric shapes. Retro style, vintage, natural elements, floral ornaments, patterns with the effect of crumpled or burnt paper are popular. A special place is occupied by drawings for natural materials. Such scrapbooking backgrounds in good quality can be made so skillfully that it will be difficult to distinguish from far away what the product is made of or its surface - from plain paper, natural bark, fabric, wood or leather.

The basics for scrapbooking are distinguished by their focus. They are gentle pastel, bright watercolor, with small, large and "printed" drawings. In fact, everything depends only on the imagination and mood of the author.

Backgrounds for scrapbooking in good quality are necessary if the final result of the work looks holistic and worthy. If you use expensive, interesting material, but the very basis of the work is tasteless and blurry - the product simply cannot look beautiful.

The simplest and most affordable printout is in A4 format. Such an image can be ordered at the printing house, as well as print independently on a regular home printer.

If you decide to do this kind of needlework like scrapbooking, backgrounds for printing can be found on various specialized sites, as well as sites with a picture library. Yes, and downloading an image on the Internet is not the only way out, in specialized handicraft stores you can always buy CDs with a set of beautiful backgrounds. In addition, ready-made scrapbook paper kits are sold in stores. Albums are bought in whole, or sheets are sold separately.

But it should be noted that the backgrounds for printing in high resolution on the Internet is not so easy to find. Carefully select pictures, view file descriptions. Most often, backgrounds for printing in high resolution offer paid sites, but with due diligence, drawings will be found on free sites and thematic forums for needlewomen.

But not always high resolution is the guarantor of a quality drawing. Important elements will also be the paper on which you print your base and the quality of the printer inks.

Images for scrapbooking in good quality are most often printed on thick paper, cardboard, or photo paper. Moreover, it is possible to print the picture on either side of the photo paper. Thus, the resulting backgrounds of different textures - glossy or matte.

Also, for good quality scrapbooking, other necessary elements are also printed - small thematic drawings, “antique” manuscripts, small paper decorations, etc.

In addition to the background, various design elements are used for scrapbooking. They can be both flat (colored paper, stickers, clippings from magazines, pieces of fabric and others), and voluminous (buttons, flowers, beads, half beads). In practice, the possibilities of scrap are endless. Try to use any objects and elements that are glued to the main background for your work.

Today more than ever decorative DIY souvenirs are in demand. To do this, use a variety of types of creativity. One of the most popular in recent times is scrapbooking, for work in which scrap paper is used: special, plain, cardboard, wallpaper or unusual drawings that can be printed on any color printer. What is scrap paper

For several decades, there is such a kind of needlework as scrapbooking. Today, this technique is used not only for decorating albums, but also for other items. The popularity of the material is determined not only by its unusual appearance or variety of textures, but also by its quality, which for a long time will keep crafts from burning out, the appearance of yellowness.

Features and types

The main difference between scrapbooking paper is the absence of lignin and acid in it. Quality materials will remain intact for a long time. The lignin oxidation process produces yellowness, as a result of which the product loses its decorative appearance. A striking example is tracing paper or old newspapers that turn yellow from time to time. The composition of the paper is mandatory on the packaging. There are certain styles of scrapbooking paper:

DIY scrapbooking paper

You can often hear that many craftsmen make paper on their own. The appearance of the material will not be inferior to the paper purchased in the store, but the savings are significant. In order to do it yourself, you will need:

  • colored cardboard or thick paper base (if the source material is one-sided, then the resulting scrapbooking sheets will be the same);
  • paper napkins with interesting patterns;
  • iron;
  • water tank and spray bottle;
  • scissors;
  • candle or lighter;
  • old newspapers or magazines;
  • cling film.

From the wallpaper

There are many ways to get scrapbook paper at home. One of the most common is getting material from wallpaper. This option is suitable for working with him as a basis by gluing other decorative elements on it. Suitable wallpaper with any motive: floral, floral, animal, striped, with ornaments, textured. Such options can be used not as a background, but as basic elements (some masters do not cut pieces, but tear them off).

From napkins

In order to acquire an interesting and textured scrap paper from napkins, you will not need many tools. You will need: napkins (their price is much less than scrapbook paper), PVA glue, soft brush, water, paper towels, A4 sheets. The manufacturing sequence is as follows:

  1. Napkin is laid out on a white sheet.
  2. Glue a napkin to paper with glue and a brush. It is better to dilute the glue with water.
  3. Flatten the napkin slightly.

The second method of producing scrapbook paper from napkins gives a more interesting surface. Everything is done a little longer. The manufacturing sequence is as follows:

  1. Crumple two napkins, moisten in water.
  2. Spread one and place it on a regular sheet. Remove excess moisture with a paper towel.
  3. Stick it on the sheet.
  4. From the second napkin you need to make small flagella, balls (for this you need to tear the napkin into pieces).
  5. Place everything on a whole napkin glued to the sheet.
  6. Coat everything with glue.
  7. To dry.

Scrapbooking prints

An interesting option for obtaining material is printing on a printer. Making such artistic materials will look aesthetically pleasing. Prints for scrapbooking involve the use of any motifs. The only thing to remember is that if the picture is printed using non-moisture resistant inks, then you cannot subsequently use water. To create double-sided paper, the print must be on two sides. The basis can be ordinary paper materials, sheets for watercolor, photo paper, cardboard.

How to age scrapbooking sheets

The easiest and fastest way to add mystery and aristocracy to your work is to artificially age the material. There are several ways to do this. They are as follows:

  • coffee or tea (the longer the leaf is kept in the liquid, the more beautiful the color);
  • milk (the material is crushed, soaked in fat milk and dried with an iron - this will give beautiful brown stains);
  • potassium permanganate solution (the principle as when working with coffee or tea);
  • lemon juice (the principle is like with milk, only the sheet should not be wrinkled);
  • candle, lighter (burn the edges of the sheet or “brown” the middle).

How to choose a scrapbook paper

In order to choose scrapbook paper, you should focus not only on cost - choose what is cheap or expensive, although the price matters, but also know what criteria you should pay attention to. They are as follows: size, density, purpose. The latter determines where and by whom the material will be used. For example, when choosing materials for children's creativity, it is important to understand that it will be difficult for a child to cope with very thick or large paper.

The size

Materials for scrapbooking are available in several sizes: 15x15, 20x20, 30x30. However, there are other formats: A4, A2, A3. The size should correspond to the product itself, for example, a 15x15 photo album, which means that the material is selected the same. When choosing large formats, you should pay attention to the position of the picture and its compliance with the author’s idea.

Density

A sheet is considered thin in the range from 120 to 180 g / m2, dense - from 190 to 240 g / m2. Any materials are used in the work. It all depends on the destination: for external design it is best to take a dense one. If you need to make album pages, a postcard, thin is more suitable. If scrapbook paper is needed for the cover, it must be glued to the base.

How to replace scrapbooking paper

Instead of scrapbooking paper, the usual one is quite suitable, which is additionally painted (looks interesting in pink), wrinkled or decorated with unusual materials: foil, stamps, ornaments, with text. For the manufacture of hand-made gifts often use rough or colored cardboard, velvet sheets, pieces of wallpaper, old newspapers or magazines.
