Where was the presentation of Huawei P9. Russian presentation of the Huawei P9 line. About noticed shortcomings

Just a couple of days ago we published a photo of the future flagship Huawei P9 in a protective case and the case itself separately. In those images, one could only see the location of the fingerprint sensor, dual camera and LED flash. At the same time, it was assumed that the case contained an enlarged P9 - P9 Max. The “empty” case showed approximately the same arrangement of all these elements, but it was intended for the representative of the entire line - P9. Now “live” photographs of the smartphone have appeared online, and Huawei has published an official invitation to the presentation of new devices.

With the Venture Beat resource and well-known insider Evan Blass, photographs of the unpresented flagship Huawei P9 were shared by a person who had already managed to hold it in his hands.

According to him, the device that came to him had a 5.2-inch screen with Full HD resolution. The manufacturer did not follow in the footsteps of many competitors and installed regular glass instead of curved glass in the smartphone. The single-chip platform was an eight-core self-developed Kirin 950 processor with a clock frequency of 2.53 GHz and Mali-T880 MP4 graphics. The amount of RAM was 3 GB, built-in - 32 GB. The main camera, as expected, received a dual 16 megapixel module. The battery capacity is 3900 mAh, which is very good given the small thickness of the device and should be enough for a long time battery life, taking into account the diagonal of the display. A symmetrical USB Type-C port is provided for charging and data transfer. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. The operating system is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

According to the source, there will also be a premium version, which will receive the best Kirin 955 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of internal memory. In addition, the line will also include a “lightweight” model P9 Lite and an enlarged P9 Max.

If you are interested in news from the world of technology, then you probably know about the existence of a flagship smartphone HuaweiP9, created on the basis of a productive eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 955 system and equipped with a dual main camera from Leica. Official international presentation the new product took place in April of this year in London, and already in early June the smartphone went on sale in Ukraine.

We know that Huawei has surpassed a number of well-known competitors in terms of sales of its smartphones on the global market (Huawei is the “No. 3 device supplier in 2015 worldwide”), and presentations of new models are happening generously and on a grand scale. The Ukrainian office of the company did the same, inviting media representatives, partners and other dear guests to the Ukrainian Hilton on June 2.

Zlata Ognevich

And if we don’t talk about the meeting at the entrance to the hotel by authorized representatives of the company, charming models, and the mandatory registration at the entrance to the assembly hall, the presentation began with a performance by the famous Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich. She appeared on stage several times and also helped select the winners in one of the competitions organized during the event.

Haojie Zhou, CEO, Huawei Ukraine

The presentation began, and Zhou Haojie rose to the podium - CEO Huawei Ukraine. Brief biographical information: Zhou Haojie has been working for Huawei for about 15 years. In December 2015, he was appointed CEO of Huawei Ukraine.

According to tradition, before the actual presentation of the new product, he spoke about Huawei’s successes in the global market. He also mentioned that Huawei invests considerable funds - 10% of profits - in financing research centers, new developments and research. One of the results of this work is the Huawei P9 smartphone.

Kevin Zhou, Device Director, Huawei Ukraine

The direct presentation of the new product was made by Kevin Zhou, head of the Huawei Consumer BG department in Ukraine. Brief Curriculum Vitae: Kevin Zhou has been with Huawei for over 8 years. Since October 2015, he has been appointed head of the Huawei Consumer BG department in Ukraine.

Kevin paid close attention to almost all the characteristics of the Huawei P9 that could increase its sales in Ukraine. He often compared the smartphone with such flagships as and, focusing on individual advantages over competitors. And, of course, a significant part of the presentation was devoted to talking about the photographic capabilities of the main dual Leica camera. Read about all this below, but for now we suggest you familiarize yourself with the detailed characteristics of the smartphone:

With its 5.2-inch screen, the Huawei P9 fits very comfortably in a medium-sized palm. It didn’t slip out of my hands (I specially wiped it dry - at the test stands, test smartphones could be examined and twirled or dropped as desired), and my thumb reached many important elements on the desktop.

It seems that the company's designers paid significant attention to the ergonomics of the smartphone. It is comfortable to hold in both the right and left palms. All buttons in both positions are easy to find with the fingers of one hand. Even more convenient are the rounded sides, which promote a more secure grip.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about regarding the assembly of the Huawei P9. In several test samples (usually they have already seen the world, and they can be attributed to an “active lifestyle”), the all-metal, non-separable case was assembled without a single gap, and did not emit any creaks or crunches even when the side edges were strongly compressed.

The main camera of Huawei P9 is a dual module with modern lenses from Leica. Moreover, each lens has its own unique matrix: standard RGB for working with color and monochrome, which does not perceive color information, but is more receptive to light. The main camera of Huawei P9 is also two modules of 12 megapixels each, with an f/2.2 aperture, a pixel size of 1.25 microns, dual LED flash and laser focusing.

I was also interested in the built-in software for the camera. It is characterized by:

  • the presence of a synchronous operation mode for both cameras, which significantly improves detail, depth of field and color;
  • the presence of a function for full manual control of all parameters: from focus, white balance and aperture to ISO and shutter speed;
  • the ability to save RAW files;
  • post-focus support (achieved by crossing two frames from two modules taken at the same moment);
  • Supports video recording in 4K resolution.

And one more small, but very pleasant nuance - the camera module does not protrude even a millimeter beyond the body.

The case itself is quite thin - 6.95 mm. For comparison, as was announced during the presentation, it is thinner than two well-known flagships: the Apple iPhone 6S with its 7.1 mm and the Samsung Galaxy S7 with 7.9 mm.

Overall, the device left a more than pleasant impression. However, it is still too early to make a final verdict on the Huawei P9. It’s worth waiting for the smartphone to be tested, where we can analyze it in more detail according to all its characteristics, including the capabilities of the energy-efficient but productive HiSilicon Kirin 955 system, check the battery autonomy, study the features of the 5.2-inch IPS-NEO screen and, of course, the unique cameras.

One moment! The front camera of the Huawei P9 is also at a high level: taking high-quality and effective selfies with its 8-megapixel sensor is a pleasure.

New photo quality

Combining the achievements of Leica and Huawei developers, The P9 smartphone combines best-in-class components with innovative software- from optical lenses to sensors and image processing algorithms, allowing you to obtain photographs of the highest quality.

Dual camera makes the most of Leica optical lenses, known for their precision and high level of quality control in production. The smartphone's RGB camera captures colors perfectly, while the monochrome camera captures the smallest details of the picture as accurately as possible. The P9's two main cameras work in tandem to deliver detail, depth and color in every frame. The P9 feels confident in low-light conditions: the dual camera design allows you to capture more light and detail when shooting.

Each photo taken with the P9 camera is distinguished by special emotionality and “depth”, typical for Leica. Users can choose from three shooting modes: Standard, Vivid Colors and Smooth Colors. Thanks to careful camera calibration, each mode delivers authentic Leica color reproduction and framing style. Monochrome mode allows you to create impressive and expressive black and white photos.

Using Hybrid Focus technology, the P9 shoots with incredible speed and stability. The smartphone uses laser focusing technology and depth and contrast calculations to achieve the best results in any conditions.

The ability to shoot with a wide aperture allows you to experiment with visual effects, creating unique pictures. The P9 easily creates bokeh and other visual effects with depth of field while keeping your key subject in focus.

Industrial design. Step forward

P9 is a striking example of modern industrial design, made in the same minimalist style as previous Huawei P series smartphones. The screen of each device is covered with durable 2.5D glass, and the body is made of aircraft-grade aluminum. Diamond cut rounded side surfaces make its body ergonomic.

The 64GB Haze Gold version of the P9 sets new standards in industrial design. The case is processed using scoring and metal polishing techniques at the micron level to achieve a matte finish. And the Ceramic White version, smoother than a premium car surface, reflects and refracts light to create different shades as lighting conditions change.

Power and Performance

The P9 delivers exactly the battery power, internet speeds, and connectivity that users expect from Huawei devices. With a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p screen, the P9 features a new 64-bit Kirin 955 processor clocked at 2.5GHz for the best performance. The 3000 mAh battery guarantees long battery life.

Huawei is also introducing the P9 Plus with a 5.5-inch screen that supports Press Touch and increased battery power - 3400 mAh, as well as a fast charging function that allows the smartphone to work in active call mode for 6 hours after a 10-minute charge.

Leveraging Huawei's unique telecommunications capabilities, P9 and P9 Plus offer unparalleled new features, including a virtual triple antenna designed specifically for those who need a reliable and uninterrupted Internet connection.

The P9 and P9 Plus protect users' personal data using industry-leading biometric technology. The advanced fingerprint scanner allows you to personalize and secure smartphones, significantly reducing the likelihood of fraudulent or accidental access. At the same time, users themselves get quick and secure access to their information on their devices.
