To assess the quality of welded compounds, the concept of the control welded connection is established. The control is considered a welded compound, identical to controlled production welded joints: there must be the same stamps of the steel of the connected elements, their thickness and diameter, type and design of the connection, the shape of the edge cutting. When controlling the same type of compounds, the thickness and diameter of the control weld must correspond to one of the sizes of welded connections. The technological process of performing the control weld must comply with the technological process used in the manufacture of controlled reinforcement or when connecting it with a pipeline. The same welding method should be applied, in the same position, the same welding materials, the same brand and the same diameter, with the same modes, with the same heated, with the same heat treatment, etc. Control welds must be performed in The same period of time as the production welds controlled by them, the same welder, on the same equipment and by the same technology, under the supervision of specially allocated responsible persons.

The heat treatment of control compounds should be carried out in conjunction with the product (with a general heat treatment in the furnace), and if it is impossible, separately using the heating and cooling methods and temperature modes installed by the PDD for production compounds. If controlled welded connections are subjected to multiple heat treatment, then the control compound must pass the same amount of heat treatment according to the same modes. If the production compound has been subjected to multiple high leave, then the control compound may be subjected to a single leave with a duration of the excerpt at least 80% of the total exposure time with all high vacations of the production connection.

The control weld must be monitored in the amount of 100% by the same non-destructive testing methods, which are provided for production welded joints. With unsatisfactory control results, control compounds must be made again in double quantities. If unsatisfactory results will be obtained with repeated non-destructive control, then the overall result is considered unsatisfactory. In this case, the quality, equipment and qualifications of the welder should be subjected to additional check.

All welded connections must have a branding or other conditional designation that allows you to set the surname of the welder that completed this connection.
