Do-it-yourself winter accessories: headphones, mitts, hats. Fur earmuffs winter DIY fur earmuffs from the rim

Nowadays, thanks to the Internet, many people have been able to realize their unspent creative potential. Unspent precisely because offline life, with hired, often far from creative work, dries up a person’s original dreams, dragging him into the routine of everyday worries like a swamp.

The heroine of today's story Reconomica one day she made a responsible decision that changed her whole future life. She changed the perspective of working in the office to creativity. Now Anastasia successfully sells her handicrafts, finding numerous clients thanks to Instagram, and willingly shares his experience with our readers.

My name is Anastasia Dmitrieva, I'm 28 years old, and I've been working for two years now. From early childhood I had a terrible passion for painting and modeling, I studied at the art school and even graduated with honors. While studying at the institute (I am a translator by profession and perfect), I always wanted to start my own business.

My dream was to open a small unusual shop where I could sell my own exclusive handicrafts. After graduating from high school, I firmly decided for myself that working in a profession is not mine. Then I realized that this kind of work suffocates me, preventing me from being fully realized.

On the way to a dream - how I started sculpting

While living in Moscow, I constantly searched the Internet for suitable courses on special modeling of hair accessories. Finding something really worthwhile in the capital turned out to be not so easy (in total, I spent almost 5 months on this search). Fortunately for me, colleagues at work suggested good master just for teaching modeling from polymer clay .

One of my works is a bouquet of polymer clay roses.

I take courses and practice a lot at home

The courses lasted two months and cost not such a cosmic amount as I thought at first, but only 35 thousand rubles.

After I completed my studies and received a certificate of completion of the workshop, I began to hone my skill long and hard on the weekends (after the main work), sitting at home. To say that the whole apartment was in molds and special “rolling pins” for phosphoric polymer clay is to say absolutely nothing.

I am a creative person and, probably, because such chaos in my apartment has always been a common thing for me. After about 3-4 months, I sufficiently honed my skill in sculpting various elite hair clips. self made and decided to finally realize her dream by selling them online.

This is such an original birthday present.

My first clients Instagram

In general, I decided to make Instagram own page under online store of accessories from elite material. As you already understand, it cost me absolutely nothing, which cannot be said about the first subscribers to my account bought for advertising.

Polymer clay cost me 800 rubles in the store, for a piece in the form of 300 grams. For one product (hairpin, brooch or earrings), I only needed 5-10 grams. material. I sold on average my work from 1 to 5 thousand rubles.

When there was a noticeable increase in customers, I began to make special sets (earrings + rings), flower baskets (all from the same phosphorus polymer clay) and small miniature vases filled with leaves and flowers.

The original composition is a glass vase filled with flowers and leaves.

Business is gaining momentum

The clay shop began to gain momentum and moved into the status of elite handicrafts (not only costume jewelry, but also things for decor).

Six months after opening my online store, I had an established clientele (through ordinary word of mouth), which brings me a very good income.

At the moment, from the day the store opened to the present day, I have already earned clean
90 thousand rubles!

My orders are large, for example, 3-4 medium wicker baskets with large roses and small leaves, as well as a set of hairpins and rings. The amount of such an order is about 45 thousand rubles.

I like to sculpt. Since I am a creative person, it is extremely difficult for me to sit in one place, and fantasy overflowing does not give me any peace.

Earrings, ring and hairpin. All from special clay!

A chic business idea - fur headphones for women and children!

Since November 2017, when the first light snow had already fallen, I came up with the idea of creating fur headphones for women and children from elite fur ( arctic fox, mink, sable). I had a hood from an old fur coat.

I went online and watched some videos on how to make winter earmuffs with your own hands. The principle of work turned out to be very simple and took much less time than heavy modeling from clay.

Implementation of the plan - where to get the materials

Having cut the mink hood into long and even parts, I began to implement my new wonderful idea.

Then I visited AliExpress and found the most primitive headbands for just $5. I ordered 10 pieces at once and paid for the amount of 2,850 rubles.

Headphones came in a couple of weeks, without delay, I immediately began to implement it. Frankly, my first fur headphones looked amazing on my head (even much better than in training videos from the Internet).

This is what one of my creations looks like.

I decided not to stop there.

I ordered special Australian rhinestones for my fur creations (to be more precise, Preciosa crystals in the shape of an oval, 144 pieces and several round ones, 96 pieces). All this cost me 13,000 rubles. with pennies.

After I received my rhinestones in the mail in person, I literally ran home to quickly sew them on the rim to my fur headphones.

I did it elementary simply: with the help of an ordinary thread and a needle. I immediately photographed the resulting beauty and posted it in my already existing branded online store in Instagram.

The first customer for fur headphones appeared in the evening of the same day!

Price winter headphones today in my store is 5-15 thousand rubles. depending on the type of fur, the shape of the rhinestones and the quality of the rim on the product itself.

Changing direction of business

Of course, modeling from polymer phosphorus clay brought me enough good earnings, but, unfortunately, over time it became completely unjustified in terms of labor costs.

Some costs of working with clay

It takes a lot of time for any large product (basket or vase) made of clay, about a whole day, sometimes even two. First, the form must “grab” and dry in order to acquire the desired shape. Then, if necessary, it must also be applied with a special flavored oil (from roses, meadow flowers, orchids, lilies, etc.).

But the most annoying thing is the frequent lack of high-quality polymer phosphoric clay in specialized stores.

Hair clip “White rose”.

At first, when there were a huge number of orders, but there were difficulties with the material, I tried to fulfill orders using a different polymer clay (much lower quality). As a result, the shape of the flowers was poor and weakly kept. Customers, all as one, began to complain about the cracks in the clay, and many asked for a refund.

The last straw in patience

In order not to lose a good income and not fall into the dirt, dropping the reputation of the store, I decided to stop selling any clay products altogether (until high-quality material appears in stores). After such unpleasant expenses with modeling and its further implementation, I radically revised my sales policy.

I'm tired of spending a day only on making one hairpin or brooch.

And here's another sample!

The former occupation ceased to bring moral satisfaction, and the pursuit of the necessary “super-quality” clay began to strain me pretty much.

No, now only fur headphones!

I cannot say the same about the production of winter fur earmuffs. I always have fur and rhinestones in stock, and in case of urgent need, I can always order any other material that has ended for them.

I buy everything I need on AliExpress.

Surely every second of you knows that AliExpress has a large number of such goods. This allows me not to worry about the deficit consumable(as opposed to business with phosphoric polymer clay).

By the way, it takes me an average of 2 to 4 hours a day to make one fur earmuffs. Plus, there is a huge payback from the initial cost of consumables.

As I wrote above, summing up all my experience, the income from the sale of my products, in general, I get very good. But if we consider everything from the point of view of profitability and prospects, then

Today, the business of selling winter headphones brings me much more profit (and even moral satisfaction).

My shop selling high-end polymer clay jewelry is still alive and I occasionally do large orders for my old clients.

Nevertheless, I now invest all my free time only in the development of my new, I repeat, myself. profitable business on fur headphones.

To my followers - how to start a handmade business

In conclusion, I would like to give a few useful tips for those who decide to follow my example:

  • First, choose your material carefully. from which you will work. High quality is the key to great success in the sales market.
  • Secondly, have perseverance and patience, after all, sculpting or making even the most elementary headphones is a rather long process that requires accuracy and care.
  • Thirdly, if you decide to deal specifically with headphones and apply rhinestones to their rims, then buy Australian rhinestones and only sew-on ones.

The point is that ordinary adhesive rhinestones dry quickly and fall off soon. In addition, if they are bought in a cheap store, then they will not have an impeccably beautiful overflow and shine. As a result, you will lose customers, and your reputation will fall quite rapidly

Fur has been a fashion trend for several seasons in a row. Products from it are especially relevant in the cold season. , shoes, hats, mittens, outerwear - all this will not only warm, but also give a great mood to its owner, because it looks incredibly beautiful and spectacular. Another bright accessory of their fur is fur headphones.

Warm and stylish fur earmuffs

It is impossible not to pay attention to winter headphones. They look wonderful on both children and adult ladies, giving the image a certain zest. Large and small, voluminous and not very, in restrained colors or bright colors, with natural expensive fur or faux fur - everyone will be able to choose a product to their taste. Such a variety guarantees the ability to choose an accessory for almost any look, because it will look great in combination with an elegant fur coat, a stylish down jacket, and a sports jacket.

Winter headphones are a great thing for practical women who, afraid to ruin their hair, do not wear a hat. A warm accessory can protect your ears and is perfect during cool, but not very cold weather.

Do you also want to add some brightness and charm to your appearance? You can purchase these headphones at your local store or make your own.

How to sew fur headphones yourself

Sewing fur earmuffs is very simple. Important to have on hand necessary materials and apply a little talent and imagination. Having already considered the headphones, you can creatively approach the solution of the issue and suggest several options for its creation.

Method number 1. You can take ordinary headphones that are not used for their intended purpose and, having rid them of unnecessary wires and cords, fix the most optimal size for your head. The headband can be left as is, if it is in harmony with the fur in color. Otherwise, decorate it with ribbon, fabric, leather, fur, or knit a woolen thread cover for it. Decor can be done with craft glue or thread. It all depends on your capabilities and desires.

Applying headphones, cut out two double circles from the fur. Sew them by hand or machine, leaving a small piece unsewn. Turn the finished parts inside out and put them on the headphones. Fix. If you wish, you can decorate fur headphones with a bow, rhinestones, stones or other elements.

Method number 2. If you do not have unnecessary headphones, you can make a fur accessory in a different way. Take a regular headband and attach round parts made of a hard material, such as plastic or thick cardboard, to it. On solid parts on both sides, fix circles of foam rubber, which are slightly larger in diameter than the base. Depending on the size of the formed earmuffs, cut out two double pieces of fur and sew them incompletely. Turn it out and put it on. If necessary, decorate the rim before that.

Tips.

  • Instead of synthetic winterizer, you can use cotton wool or other soft material that will protect the ear from the pressure of the rim.
  • Details do not have to be cut out completely from the fur. For the inside, another soft fabric will work wonderfully.
  • For winter headphones, you can also use fur from old collars or fur coats. If necessary, it appearance can be revived with paint.

Fur earmuffs is a great way to stay fashionable, stylish and original, and a handmade accessory is an opportunity to show your design skills.

With the onset of the cold season, many needlewomen turn their attention to winter accessories. And not in vain, because, with a creative approach, they can not only warm in frost and cold, but also become a stylish addition to the wardrobe. One of these are warm and woolen mittens, the principle of which we will describe below.

Fur earmuffs

They are popular not only among little girls, but also among adult women who want to look beautiful in winter and at the same time maintain their health. Today, there are many types of such accessories on the market, but the best of them are, of course, those that are made by hand.

To sew them, you will need such materials: a small piece of faux fur (if there is, then natural fur is possible), a piece of felt, the most ordinary hoop, hot melt glue, scissors.

How to do: 1. First you need to fold the felt in half. Draw a circle on it, the diameter of which will be equal to the size of future headphones and cut it out. You should get two circles, as shown in the photo below. Make two more exactly the same.

3. After that, attach the second circle to the first one (you can put a little padding polyester inside, but this is optional) and also glue it, leaving room for the hoop.

4. Repeat the steps with the second pair of circles. Insert a hoop into them, after lubricating its ends with glue. Wait until the product is completely dry. Fur headphones are ready.

It's important to know: faux fur headphones can be machine washed or soaked by hand, while similar accessories made of natural fur are recommended to be dry cleaned, where they will be provided with normal care and cleaning from dirt.

In fact, this is far from the only way to create decorative winter headphones. So, instead of a hoop, you can always use real musical headphones, which are unnecessarily lying around at home or a strong wire that can hold a given shape for a long time.

In addition, the surface of the hoop or the same headphones can also be decorated with a pretty fabric or tightly tied with large threads. For example, it will look like this:

Advice: those who use real fur to make winter headphones should remember that it should be cut only with a blade so as not to damage the structure.

Headphones of this type can look completely different. They can be made as described above, or you can combine methods and methods, connecting fur and knitted parts, piece elements and cute additions in the form of rhinestones, pictures and other cute little things.

After all, the main thing in headphones is that they fit perfectly into your image, becoming its complement. They look good on both long and short hair, can be matched with both casual and sporty and classic outfits. The main thing is to always pay attention to their color, shape and quality.

They can be made plain, colored, sewn from fur with long and short pile. Better yet, combine them with mittens, gloves or scarves made from exactly the same material.

With regards to the style and the rules for selecting shades, it is better for girls with blond hair to pay attention to beige, gray and light pink tones, and for brunettes, bright headphones in the color of ripe cherries, blue, orange or any other saturated shades are suitable.

Mitts

Another useful accessory for winter is mitts made of warm fabric. They can be worn both outdoors and at home, which makes them almost indispensable for those who are constantly cold even sitting at a computer screen.

As it is not difficult to see, in most cases they look like knitted products, but this does not mean that only those who know how to handle knitting needles and crochet can make them. An alternative basis for mittens is an old one that no one needs or a jacket. When using the latest, a newfangled accessory will be ready in just an hour. All you need for this:

1. Flatten an old sweater. Measure a rectangle measuring 30 * 16 cm on its lower part (on average, the parameters depend on the size of the hand). It is best to do this not in the middle of the sweater, but on the side - so that the product captures the side seam, which eliminates the need to additionally sew the two halves. There should be 2 such rectangles.

2. Then turn them inside out and start stitching the side seam. However, here we should not forget about the hole for the thumb. It should be located about 2 cm below the edge of the mitt and have a length of about 6 cm.

3. For greater convenience, needlewomen are advised to slightly bend the inner edges of the thumb hole and hem them from the inside (the size of the lapel is 1.5 cm).

4. In the end, all seams must be securely fastened and the product turned out. Glamorous mitts are ready!

Such mitts will suit all those who are forced to work in cold rooms or outdoors in cold weather.

By exactly the same principle, hats and mittens can be cut and sewn from sweaters. In order for the above things to be better kept on the hands, as well as on the head, they should be cut out from the part of the product where there is a machine “elastic band”.

Hat

For example, let's show how a hat might look like. To create it you need:

1 . Take any sweater with an "elastic band", turn it inside out.

2. Attach your favorite simple-cut hat to it. Outline it using as a template. It is important to leave 1-2 cm of fabric for the seams.

Use your old pieces to create new ones, and then you will have a lot of absolutely unique accessories that exist in a single copy. And wanting to make them as beautiful as possible, try to be careful in everything: the seams should be even, and the stitches should be even.

And we will tell you how to make fur headphones with your own hands in just an hour!

You will need:

✂ Faux or natural fur

✂ Scissors

✂ Tailor's chalk

✂ Sintepon or any other filler

✂ Headband with a fabric surface, such as velvet

✂ Thread and needle for sewing

Step 1

On a regular sheet of paper, draw a circle with a diameter of approx. 10 cm and cut out.

Step 2

Lay the circle on the wrong side of the faux fur and use the Prtnovsky chalk to translate the outlines of the pattern. Or use any round object right size as shown in the photo.

Step 3

Cut out 4 pieces with 1 cm allowances.

Step 4

Fold the fur pieces right sides together, paying attention to the direction of the pile. Chip or baste, then stitch, leaving a small area open for turning.

Step 5

Turn the details of the headphones on the front side and fill them with padding polyester. And then put the pieces on the base of the headband on each side. Sew up the open hole by hand with blind stitches, while carefully sewing the “ears” to the fabric base of the headband.

When choosing fur headphones instead of a headdress, remember that this accessory is directly related to sports, youth and casual style!

Headphones made of long-haired or natural fur look more impressive.

If you want to add a touch of glamor to this accessory, decorate the headband with beads, rhinestones, chains. To decorate headbands covered with leather, use adhesive decorative elements.

How to sew fur headphones

In the cold season, when warmth and comfort are valued in clothes much more than their unusualness and originality, you can combine these qualities.

Not all people like to wear a hat, but in order to keep your head warm, you can replace the hat with fur earmuffs. These headphones are easy to sew with your own hands from faux / natural fur.

Fur earmuffs will not save you from the winter cold, from the freezing wind, but in the off-season they can be simply irreplaceable. You can make fur headphones very quickly, in just 2-3 hours, and they will last all autumn until the onset of real cold weather, and even in the spring they will help you wait for the April drop.

So what we need:
1) Old headphones (since I didn’t have old ones, I bought inexpensive new ones)
2) Natural or artificial fur
3) Scissors and cutter (blade)
4) Thread and needle
5) For the base of the headphones, woolen or cotton threads, or you can buy ready-made knitwear.
6) Velcro for cleaning clothes
7) And of course a good mood

We cut off all unnecessary wires from the headphones.
I tied the headband with woolen threads. For those who do not know how to knit, you can buy a piece of knitwear and fit the base of the headphones with it. (You can also use the sleeve from an old sweater)
Then you need to measure the diameter of the earpiece, I got 6 cm. We draw circles with a diameter of 8 cm on the skin, a total of 4 circles.

Carefully cut with a sharp cutter or blade. Here you need to be extremely careful not to cut the fur itself, we cut only the skin.

We fold the circles with the right side to each other and sew in half.

Then turn it inside out and put it on the earpiece

Carefully sew to the end so that the threads are not visible.

We do the same with the second earpiece.

And voila, the headphones are ready. That's what I did!
