Sewing fur earmuffs is very easy. The main thing to have at hand necessary materials and apply a little bit of talent and imagination. Having already considered the headphones, you can, creatively approach the solution of the issue, suggest several options for its creation.

Method number 1. You can take ordinary headphones that are not used for their intended purpose and, having saved them from unnecessary wires and cord, fix the size that is most optimal for your head. The headband can be left as it is, as long as it matches the color of the fur. Otherwise, decorate it with ribbon, fabric, leather, fur, or tie a woolen thread cover for it. The decor can be done with craft glue or thread. It all depends on your capabilities and desires.

Using headphones, cut two double circles out of the fur. Sew them by hand or with a typewriter, leaving a small piece unstitched. Unscrew the finished parts and slide them over the headphones. Fix. If you wish, you can decorate the fur headphones with a bow, rhinestones, stones or other elements.

Method number 2. If you do not have unnecessary headphones, you can make a fur accessory in a different way. Take a regular headband and attach round pieces of hard material such as plastic or heavy cardboard to it. On solid parts on both sides, fix circles of foam rubber, which is slightly larger in diameter than the base. Depending on the size of the resulting headphones, cut out two double pieces from the fur and sew them not completely. Turn out and put on. If necessary, decorate the bezel before that.

Advice.

  • Instead of padding polyester, you can use cotton wool or other soft material that will protect the ear from the pressure of the rim.
  • The details do not have to be cut entirely from the fur. Another soft fabric works wonderfully on the inside.
  • For winter headphones, you can also use fur from old collars or fur coats. If necessary, it appearance can be reanimated by painting.

Nowadays, thanks to the Internet, many people have been able to realize their unspent creative potential. Unspent precisely because life in offline mode, with hired, often far from creative work, drains a person's original dreams, dragging him into the routine of everyday worries as if into a swamp.

The heroine of today's plot of the magazine Reconomica once made a responsible decision that changed her whole future life. She changed the perspective of office work to creativity. Now Anastasia successfully sells her handicrafts, finding numerous clients thanks to Instagram, and willingly shares his experience with our readers.

My name is Dmitrieva Anastasia, I am 28 years old, and I have been two years ago. From early childhood, I had a terrible passion for painting and modeling, I studied at an art school and even graduated with honors. During my studies at the institute (I am a translator by profession and perfect), I always wanted to start my own business.

My dream was to open a small unusual shop where I could put my own exclusive handicrafts on sale. After graduating from the university, I firmly decided for myself that working in a profession is not mine. Then I realized that this kind of work is strangling me, not allowing me to fully realize myself.

Towards a dream - how I started sculpting

Living in Moscow, I constantly searched the Internet for suitable courses on special modeling of hair accessories. Finding something really worthwhile in the capital turned out to be not so easy (in total, I spent almost 5 months on this search). Fortunately for me, my work colleagues suggested good master, just for teaching sculpting from polymer clay .

One of my works is a bouquet of roses made of polymer clay.

I take courses and practice a lot at home

The courses lasted two months and did not cost such a cosmic sum as I thought at first, but only 35 thousand rubles.

After I finished my studies and received a certificate of completion of the workshop, I began to hone my skill for a long time and persistently on the weekend (after the main work), sitting at home. To say that the whole apartment was in molds and special "rolling pins" for phosphoric polymer clay, to say absolutely nothing.

I am a creative person and, probably, that is why such chaos in my apartment has always been a common thing for me. After about 3-4 months, I have sufficiently honed my skill in sculpting various elite hairpins self made and decided to finally realize her dream by selling them over the Internet.

Here is such an original birthday present.

My first clients in Instagram

In general, I decided to do in Instagram own page under online store of accessories made of elite material. As you already understand, it cost me absolutely nothing, which cannot be said about the first subscribers bought for advertising to my account.

Polymer clay cost me 800 rubles in the store, for a piece in the form of 300 grams. For one product (hairpin, brooch or earrings), it took me only 5-10 grams. material. I sold my works on average from 1 to 5 thousand rubles.

When the number of customers increased significantly, I began to make special sets (earrings + rings), baskets with flowers (all from the same phosphoric polymer clay) and small miniature vases filled with leaves and flowers.

The original composition is a glass vase filled with flowers and leaves.

Business is gaining momentum

The store of clay products began to gain momentum and moved into the status of elite handicrafts (not only jewelry, but also things for decor).

Six months after opening my online store, I had an established clientele (through ordinary word of mouth), which brings me a very good income.

At the moment, from the day the store was opened until today, I have already earned clean
90 thousand rubles!

I have large orders, for example, 3-4 medium-sized wicker baskets with large roses and small leaves, as well as a set of hairpins and rings. The amount of such an order is about 45 thousand rubles.

I like sculpting. Since I am a creative person, it is extremely difficult for me to sit in one place, and the overflowing fantasy does not give me any rest.

Earrings, ring and hair clip. All made of special clay!

A chic business idea - fur headphones for women and children!

Since November 2017, when the first light snow has already fallen, I got the idea of creating fur headphones for women and children from elite fur ( arctic fox, mink, sable). I had a hood from an old fur coat.

I went to the Internet and watched several videos on how to make winter headphones do it yourself. The principle of operation turned out to be very simple and took much less time than heavy clay modeling.

Implementation of the idea - where to get materials

Having cut the mink hood into long and even parts, I started to implement my new wonderful idea.

Then I visited AliExpress and found the most primitive headphone rims, literally for $ 5. I ordered 10 pieces at once and paid in the amount of 2,850 rubles.

The headphones came in a couple of weeks, without delaying things, I immediately began to implement it. Frankly, my first fur headphones looked amazing on my head (even much better than in the training videos from the Internet).

This is what one of my products looks like.

I decided not to stop there.

I ordered special Australian rhinestones for my fur creations (more precisely, Preciosa crystals in the form of an oval, 144 pcs. And several round ones, 96 pcs.) All this cost me 13,000 rubles. with a penny.

After I received my rhinestones by mail in person, I literally ran home to quickly sew them on the bezel to my fur headphones.

I did it very simply: using an ordinary thread and a needle. The resulting beauty was immediately photographed and uploaded to her existing corporate online store in Instagram.

The first customer for fur earmuffs appeared in the evening of the same day!

The cost of winter headphones for today in my store is 5-15 thousand rubles. depending on the type of fur, the shape of the rhinestones and the quality of the rim on the product itself.

Changing the direction of activity

Of course, modeling from polymer phosphoric clay brought me a fairly good income, but, unfortunately, over time it became completely unjustified in terms of labor costs.

Some of the costs of working with clay

It takes a lot of time for any large product (basket or vase) made of clay, about a whole day, sometimes even two. First, the form must “grab” and dry out to acquire the desired shape. Then, if necessary, you also need to apply a special scented oil to it (from roses, meadow flowers, orchids, lilies, etc.).

But the most annoying thing is the frequent lack of high-quality polymer phosphoric clay in specialized stores.

Hairpin "White Rose".

At first, when there was a huge number of orders, but there were difficulties with the material, I tried to fulfill orders using another polymer clay (the quality is much lower). As a result, the shape of the flowers was poor and held poorly. Customers, all as one, began to complain about the cracks in the clay, and many asked to return the money back.

The last straw in patience

In order not to lose a good income and not fall in the face of dirt, having damaged the reputation of the store, I decided to stop selling any clay products altogether (until high-quality material appears in stores). After such unpleasant costs with modeling and its further implementation, I radically revised my sales policy.

I was tired of spending a day just making one hairpin or brooch.

Here's another sample!

The previous occupation ceased to bring moral satisfaction, and the pursuit of the necessary "super-quality" clay began to strain me pretty much.

No, now only fur headphones!

Can't say this about making winter fur earmuffs. I always have fur and rhinestones, and in case of urgent need, I can always order any more material that has run out for them.

I buy everything I need on AliExpress

Surely every second of you knows that there is a large number of similar products on AliExpress. This allows me not to worry about scarcity. consumable(as opposed to the phosphoric polymer clay business).

By the way, it takes me, on average, 2 to 4 hours a day to make some fur headphones. Plus, there is a tremendous return on investment from the initial cost of consumables.

As I wrote above, summing up all my experience, the income from the sale of my products, in general, I get quite good. But if we consider everything from the point of view of profitability and prospects, then

Today, the business of selling winter headphones brings me much more profit (and even moral satisfaction).

My shop selling high-end polymer clay jewelry is still alive, and I sometimes carry out large orders for my old clients.

Nevertheless, I now invest all my free time only in the development of my new, I repeat, myself profitable business on fur headphones.

How to start a handmade business for my followers

In conclusion, I want to give a few useful tips for those who decide to follow my example:

  • First, choose your material carefully from which you will perform work. High quality is the key to great success in the sales market.
  • Secondly, have perseverance and patience, after all, sculpting or making even the most elementary headphones is a rather long process that requires accuracy and care.
  • Thirdly, if you decide to deal specifically with headphones and apply rhinestones to their rims, then buy Australian rhinestones and only sewn.

The fact is that ordinary glue rhinestones dry quickly and will fall off soon. In addition, if they are bought in a cheap store, they will not have a flawlessly beautiful overflow and shine. As a result, you will lose customers, and your reputation will drop quite rapidly.

With the onset of the cold season, many needlewomen turn their attention to winter accessories... And not in vain, because they, with a creative approach, can not only warm you in frost and cold, but also become a stylish addition to your wardrobe. Some of these are warm and woolen mitts, the principle of creation of which we will discuss below.

Fur earmuffs

They are popular not only among little girls, but also among adult women who want to look beautiful in winter and at the same time maintain their health. There are many types of such accessories on the market today, but the best of them are, of course, those that are made with your own hands.

To sew them, you will need such materials: a small piece of artificial fur (if there is, then natural), a piece of felt, the most ordinary hoop, hot glue, scissors.

How to do: 1. First, fold the felt in half. Draw a circle on it, the diameter of which will be equal to the size of the future headphones and cut it out. You should get two circles, as shown in the photo below. Make two more exactly the same.

3. After that, attach the second circle to the first (you can put a little padding polyester inside, but this is optional) and glue it too, leaving space for the hoop.

4. Repeat the steps with the second pair of circles. Insert the hoop into them, having previously greased its ends with glue. Wait until the product is completely dry. The fur headphones are ready.

It's important to know: faux fur headphones can be machine washed or soaked by hand, while similar accessories made from natural fur are recommended to be taken to dry cleaning, where they will be provided with normal care and cleaning from dirt.

In fact, this is far from the only method for creating decorative winter headphones. So, instead of a hoop, you can always use real musical headphones, which are unnecessarily lying around at home or a strong wire that can keep a given shape for a long time.

In addition, the surface of the hoop or the same headphones can also be decorated with a pretty fabric or tightly tied with large threads. For example, it will look like this:

Advice: Anyone who uses real fur to make winter headphones should remember that it should only be cut with a blade so as not to damage the structure.

Headphones of this type can look very different. They can be done as described above, or you can combine methods and methods, connecting fur and knitted parts, piece elements and cute additions in the form of rhinestones, pictures and other cute gizmos.

After all, the main thing in headphones is that they fit perfectly into your image, becoming its complement. They look good on both long and short hair, and can be matched with both casual and sporty and classic outfits. The main thing is to always pay attention to their color, shape and quality.

They can be made plain, colored, sewn from fur with long and short pile. Better yet, combine them with mittens, gloves or scarves made of exactly the same material.

With regards to the style and the rules for the selection of shades, it is better for girls with blond hair to pay attention to beige, gray and light pink tones, and bright headphones of ripe cherry color, blue, orange or any other saturated shades are suitable for brunettes.

Mitts

Another useful accessory for winter is mitts made of warm fabric. They can be worn both outdoors and at home, which makes them almost indispensable for those who are constantly freezing even while sitting at the computer screen.

As it is not difficult to notice, in most cases they look like knitted products, but this does not mean that only those who know how to handle knitting needles and crochet can make them. An alternative basis for mitts is an old useless jacket or a jacket. When using the latter, the newfangled accessory will be ready in just an hour. All you need for this:

1. Flatten the old sweater. Measure on its bottom a rectangle measuring 30 * 16 cm (on average, the parameters depend on the size of the hand). It is best to do this not in the middle of the jacket, but on the side - so that the product captures the side seam, which eliminates the need to additionally sew the two halves. There should be 2 such rectangles.

2. Then turn them inside out and start stitching the side seam. However, here we must not forget about the hole for the thumb. It should be about 2 cm below the edge of the mitt and should be about 6 cm long.

3. For greater convenience, the needlewomen are advised to slightly bend the inner edges of the thumb hole and hem them from the inside (the lapel size is 1.5 cm).

4. At the end, all seams must be securely fastened and the product turned out. Glamorous mitts are ready!

These mitts are suitable for all those who have to work in cold rooms or outdoors in cold weather.

In exactly the same way, hats and mittens can be cut and sewn from sweaters. In order for the above things to be better held on the hands, and also on the head, they should be cut out from the part of the product where there is a machine "rubber band".

A cap

For example, let's show how a header might look like. To create it you need:

1 ... Take any sweater with an elastic band and turn it inside out.

2. Attach your favorite simple-cut hat to it. Circle it using it as a template. It is important to leave 1 to 2 cm of fabric on the seams.

Use your old things to create new ones, and then you will have many completely unique accessories that exist in a single copy. And if you want to make them as beautiful as possible, try to be neat in everything: the seams should be even, and the stitches should be uniform.
