When you write a letter to a friend in English, there is no strict structure to follow. Formalities are useless. However, common sense dictates that the letter should still contain some elements:

Email subject (subject)- a friend will open and read your email anyway, but it would be better if you indicate what the message is about. The topic should be short and clear.
Greetings- in chats and instant messengers, it is usually not considered rude to write something without “Hello”, especially if it is something urgent. Letters always begin with a greeting.
The main content of the letter.

What does a paper letter include?
