  1. Assembly of sheets. OSB sheets are laid on the machine table and glue and water are applied to them. It is worth noting that some complexes are capable of gluing several panels at the same time (usually up to three pieces), which lie on top of each other.
  2. Gluing. Sheets are fed to the press via an automatic conveyor. With a force of 25 tons, the press compresses the vulture panels. This procedure is necessary so that the glue is evenly distributed. This procedure takes about 20 minutes (depending on the type of press: membrane-vacuum, pneumatic or hydraulic).
  3. Cutting. After going through the first two stages, the main part finished products sent to the warehouse. But the other remains at the last stage of production. On some sip panels, as conceived by the customer, cutouts for doors or windows can be provided. And therefore, before sending them to the warehouse, docking grooves are made in the cut panels, using a knife or a thermal cutter.

How much can you earn?

If you want to make sip panels in a “handicraft” way, then it’s better not to start at all. Production will become profitable only if there is high productivity and the necessary equipment. After all, the production of panels takes place in a strictly limited time. The adhesive used hardens very quickly and can only be removed mechanically. You also need a special press. If you do not use it, then the glue will begin to “emerge” with foam and increase in volume.

Production is represented by assembly, gluing and cutting processes. Consider the phased technology for manufacturing SIP panels. The two main stages are carried out on the line, while cutting is carried out with the help of additional equipment.

  1. Assembly of sheets. The first stage is divided into six steps:

    laying the OSB sheet on the machine platform;

    applying glue and water to the OSB sheet;

    laying a layer of PSB on top of an oriented strand board;

    parallel application of thin strips of polyurethane adhesive on expanded polystyrene;

    spraying water over the glue;

    coating of expanded polystyrene with a second layer of OSB.

    Some lines allow you to glue several panels at the same time, which are placed one on top of the other. Then the first stage is repeated 2-3 times.

  2. Panel gluing. On the this stage the products are transported by automatic conveyor to the location of the press (membrane-vacuum, pneumatic or hydraulic), which squeezes the SIP panels with a force of 15-30 tons so that the glue is evenly distributed between the parts. Gluing the panel takes about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Panel cutting. After polymerization of the adhesive, the finished panels are sent to the warehouse. However, some of them are involved in final stage production process. In these SIP panels, according to the architectural plan, slots for windows and doors will be made. Cutting takes place using a special machine. Before being sent to the warehouse, docking grooves are created in the cut SIP panels using a thermal cutter or a knife.
