Skylink unlimited. Tariffs and equipment for Internet Skylink. Tariff "Optimal S"

Good news!
Despite some problems described below, our company offers skylink Internet connection in the Moscow region - even in those areas where it is not possible to communicate using 3G and 4G (LTE) technologies from Megafon, MTS and Beeline!

In addition, when installing our equipment, you (if desired) will. The average speed of receiving information is 10-20 Mbps, which is much faster and cheaper compared to satellite Internet - the only alternative in the absence of coverage from the Big Three operators.

Well, now a little about last year's problems that we (thanks to close cooperation with the operator itself) managed to solve.

Recently, more and more Internet users from Skylink in the Moscow region began to ask questions about the decrease in the level and quality of the signal, and sometimes because of it. total absence. On the forums, you can also find a lot of discussions on such topics as "Sky Link is closing?", "Where else can I connect the Skylink modem?", "Sky Link is not working", Skylink and Tele-2 united?".
It would be most logical to look for answers to these questions on the official Skylink website (msk.skylink.ru). However, it seems that the administration of the web resource does not bother with such trifles. But on the main page it is stated that the Skylink LTE-450 Network will appear in Moscow from July 1 (the year, unfortunately, is not indicated). What are the prospects for using fast Internet for residents of the Moscow Region is also not entirely clear - on the Skylink coverage map located at the bottom of the site, it is difficult to distinguish between "Current" and "Planned" coverage, besides, planning dates are not indicated ...

Even more confusing is the optimistic statement that:
"...Skylink is one of the oldest Russian operators mobile communications, which in 2016 began providing high-speed mobile Internet access services in modern standard LTE 4G at 450 MHz. This technology provides wide coverage and stable signal reception even in difficult geographic conditions and remote areas...".
That is, "started", but not, as usual, from Moscow and the Moscow region, but somewhere else ...

But not everything is so bad - future Skylink customers who want to get "Fast Internet", which is "Always with you", can already order (in advance):
branded 4G routers at a price of 9-10 thousand rubles,
directional antennas of 2 thousand and
connect until 09/30/2016 a very profitable Skylink tariff "Promo" with a monthly subscription fee of 990 rubles. and the included traffic volume is 8 GB + 12 kopecks for each overlimit megabyte...
(For reference: Movies in HD quality already occupy 15-20 or more gigabytes).

Does not add optimism and Wikipedia's opinion about the quality of communication from Sky Link:
"... Since January 2016, the operator's signal has been significantly reduced, which caused problems using the CDMA network, the operator convinces that this is due to wear and tear of the equipment, but the network will not be curtailed ... It is interesting that the operator himself claims to maintain a long and extremely complex repair and it’s not a fact that the network will work fine afterwards ... "(https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Link).

What, in such an uncertain situation, should the clients of this operator or those who are just going to connect the Internet from Skylink do?
First, please note that there is no such mobile operator in the mobile communications market (there is only trademark), so look carefully - with whom you will conclude an agreement.
Secondly, keep in mind that most equipment operating on Sky Link networks is not compatible with standard communication devices. That is, if the 4G Internet signal operating at a frequency of 450 MHz suddenly disappears or weakens, then it will not be possible to simply change the skylink SIM card, for example, to Megafon and adjust the antenna to receive from another tower.

And it is best to purchase universal equipment that works, if not with all, then with the vast majority of mobile operators. At the same time, antennas, modems, routers, etc. devices must provide top speed receive / transmit information and work equally well in 3G and 4G networks.
Special attention pay attention to the offered rates. If you are prompted to install LTE internet, which provides a reception speed of 100 Mbps, with a monthly limit of 8 GB, this means that such a fast Internet will last you as much as 640 seconds! It does not hurt to estimate how much it will cost, for example, "12 kopecks for each over-limit megabyte" - more than a ruble per second, or more than three thousand rubles per hour!

However, in such a short article it is impossible to consider all the nuances that should be taken into account when connecting wireless Internet in the Moscow region. Therefore, if you are a subscriber of Skylink (or any other operator), and the Internet has stopped working for you, then just call the technical support service of our company, and we will help solve your problems!

Once Skylink was a fairly large operator. Its coverage area, although inferior to competitors, was wide. Over time, his star faded, today he works in only four regions. And to be honest, it was he who became the first 3G operator in Russia, however, in a different range. Let's see how Internet Skylink works today and under what conditions.

To begin with, let's name the main advantages of Skylink:

  • Affordable rates - it acts as a kind of discounter.
  • Powerful coverage map - the operator works where others do not work. Its base stations cover vast areas.
  • Safety for humans is associated with the use of safe frequencies.

At frequencies of 800, 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, they always swore - they say, the frequency is too high, the influence on a person is too great. And this is true, because no one doubts the harmfulness of microwave radiation from microwave ovens. Almost all stoves operate at a frequency of 2450 MHz, adversely affecting living tissues. GSM networks are no less harmful, although the frequencies and power are smaller there.

Skylink operates at a frequency of 450 MHz. A few years ago, he used the CDMA-450 standard, which was (and is) considered safe. But he did not succeed in overcoming GSM-operators. Over time, the operator turned off his towers, remaining in the Moscow, Leningrad, Tver and Novgorod regions. In 2016, Skylink launches networks in the LTE-450 standard, providing high-speed unlimited internet the most remote corners in the regions of its activity.

Services under the Skylink brand are provided by the operator cellular communication Tele2.

Coverage

First, let's get acquainted with the Skylink coverage map. Here we see strong coverage in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as in Moscow and the Moscow region. In the Tver and Novgorod regions, the coverage is torn, but each base station covers a fairly decent territory. Having Internet Skylink to your dacha is a great solution if you want to weed the beds, fixing your achievements in social networks.

In their reviews, users were divided into two almost equal camps. Some praise the 4G networks from Tele2 and Skylink, others scold them. Most of all goes to a slightly buggy Skylink H1 router. As for negative reviews, their appearance is quite understandable - the congestion of networks at one point or another affects, as well as the nature of the propagation of radio waves, which is why the speed begins to float.

Internet from Skylink can also be used in many other regions - these are the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov Region, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and other places where 4G networks operate (and on the same terms as in the home zone!).

Purchase of equipment and SIM cards

You can buy routers with LTE 450 Skylink support in Tele2 branded stores and its online store, as well as in Skylink branded stores. There are three routers for Internet access to choose from:

  • Skylink H1 is a stationary device, suitable for home and summer cottages.
  • Skylink V-FL500 is the second stationary router, which attracts with the presence of a backup battery, if the power supply suddenly turns off (this is quite normal outside the city).
  • Skylink M1 is a small battery powered pocket router designed for travelers.

The estimated cost of routers for the Internet is from 3150 to 3500 rubles. Check prices in stores and online stores of Skylink and Tele2 brands.

Tariff plans

Let's get back closer to the Internet, or rather, to tariff plans. Skylink and its Internet tariffs excite with unlimited Internet. Real unlimited without any conditions. There are four tariffs in total:

  • Skylink S - 8 GB for 490 rubles / month.
  • Skylink L - 15 GB for 790 rubles / month.
  • Skylink XL - unlimited for 1190 rubles / month.
  • Day online - 49 rubles / day.

If the limit is exceeded, traffic costs 6 kop/Mb for the first TP and 5 kop/Mb for the second TP. But the activation of additional traffic can be prohibited through your personal account.

And here's a little life hack for you - we buy a router with a Skylink SIM card in one of the regions with LTE-450 and use real unlimited in 4G networks in other regions.

I have long faced the problem of organizing Internet access where there is no way to wired Internet, nor use (when it was possible) mobile Internet from Megafon, MTS or Beeline. Their signal is so weak that messages in the messenger crawled and crawled at a snail's pace. So, when these operators offered full unlimited, I didn’t even try. Tele2 works well, but, as far as I understand, it does not have and did not have tariffs with completely unlimited Internet. Yota is the only virtual operator with unlimited traffic, but it works on the Megafon network, so I saw no reason to try it in my difficult conditions. In general, I somehow lived without a normal Internet, leaving the office to the cherished place where at least something could be sent. But, as you know, if you really want something, it will definitely happen.

A few days ago I received an email saying that Skylink, which now seems to be owned by Tele2, offers full unlimited unlimited speed for 1190 rubles per month.

It turns out even cheaper than Yota, but the main thing here is not the price, but the fact that Skylink uses the LTE 450 MHz standard, the advantage of which is many times greater range and better indoor permeability.

In general, I had a hope that the human Internet would finally appear, although there was no 100% certainty. Therefore, I decided not to be independent with the purchase of a router and called a specialist who would come, connect and test. We didn't have to wait long. Late at night I left a request on the site and in the morning the phone rang with the specification of the time of the visit.

The consultant brought with him all three routers from the Skylink range. I have already decided for myself with the desired model. I wanted to take the cheapest stationary Skylink H1 model (3150 rubles), but I decided not to be smart and listen to what the consultant would say. He tried all three models with me, and advised me to take the slightly more expensive Skylink V-FL500 model, which cost a little more (3300 rubles), but at the same time it has a built-in battery that provides up to two hours battery life, USB port and a number of other goodies. I'm not sure if I will need all of them, but if this 4G router provides the best quality reception in my conditions, then, therefore, it will be. Of course, I still want to try the Skylink M1 mobile 4G router. If such an opportunity arises, I will definitely share my impressions with you, but for now I will dwell on my Skylink V-FL500 in more detail.

Pure white body, straight lines and rounded corners, and beautiful orange indicators. This is how I saw the Skylink V-FL500, which, thanks to its correct shape, can be placed horizontally or vertically right on the windowsill.

The Skylink V-FL500 is equipped with three 100-megabit LAN ports (one can be used as a WAN port), two detachable LTE antennas, a separate power button, reset button and a quick Wi-Fi secure setup button. On the front side there are six indicators that display the status of the device itself, the status and quality of the network connection, and Wi-Fi activity.

On the underside of the router is the battery compartment, inside which there is a slot for a SIM card. There is also a USB port (I have not figured out its purpose yet) and mounting loops for installing the router on the wall. An external power supply with a voltage of 5V is used for power supply.

No special settings needed to be made. Everything worked automatically as soon as the SIM card was inserted into the router. What's more, I didn't even have to set up Wi-Fi security. The password has already been assigned and is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the router.

Despite its apparent simplicity, the Skylink V-FL500 router has quite rich customization options. I'm not talking so much about the modem component, but about the router itself, which will allow you to easily integrate it into the existing network infrastructure, implement secure access from the outside on its basis, etc. I will not go into detail about its capabilities. Anyone who is interested can do it themselves.

What did I get in my place, forgotten by all mobile operators? Firstly, I finally got my unlimited internet, and not very expensive. I paid for the router and for the first month, while another month was given to me as a gift. In my opinion, a great start to cooperation with Skylink. Secondly, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed.

The maximum that I managed to get in the north of Moscow is 28 Mbps, but the average speed is about 15 Mbps. At first glance, not much. In fact, this turned out to be enough to watch streaming video, including 4K with a small bitrate. Moreover, I was able to normally play the resource-intensive and sensitive to ping and lag Internet game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

The first impression of unlimited internet from Skylink is very good. True, the “fly in the ointment” was added by the periodic fall off of the network. It rarely happens - once every two or three hours, but it happens. What to do with it? For now, I'm just resigned. There is still no alternative yet. However, I wish this didn't happen at all.

Our company offers the connection of unique equipment that allows you to be in the global network even from the most remote corners of the Moscow region. We will also help you to issue free corporate Internet tariffs from Skylink, which are not freely available.

A feature of the Skylink operator is the use of proprietary equipment operating at low frequencies (450 MHz). Due to the greater penetrating power of such radio waves, it is possible to receive a signal almost anywhere.

As a rule, we connect unlimited Internet from this operator in cases where there is no connection with other base stations or is unstable. Using our services, you get the following benefits:

  • selection of the optimal configuration, installation and configuration of equipment from the operator;
  • discounts on the cost of all equipment;
  • unlimited non-public Skylink tariffs, which can be connected only with us;
  • stable and stable connection even in conditions weak signal and strong interference (great distance from towers, natural and artificial barriers, etc.).

With the help of wireless Internet from this operator, you can download and transfer information at speeds up to 14 Mbps. This is enough to watch TV shows and videos in high quality. Of course, you will also have access to all other features provided by global network, - downloading files, visiting sites, working with online services.

For those who live in Moscow and the Moscow region, such a connection often becomes the only alternative to satellite. At the same time, Skylink unlimited mobile Internet works much faster and is much cheaper.

Therefore, if other masters assure you that no mobile operator is available in your area, and suggest that you install Satellite Internet, do not rush to invest in this dubious event. Just give us a call - for sure, equipment from Skylink will be able to help in your case. Our masters will promptly drive up, conduct radio reconnaissance and installation work, and of course they will connect you with an unlimited tariff.

Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, makes mobile Internet in LTE-450 networks even more accessible. When connecting to the Skylink tariff with unlimited Internet, the company offers a router for one ruble.

The promotion is valid until July 31, 2018 in online stores, as well as in Tele2 communication stores in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Moscow and the Moscow region, Novgorod and Tver regions. The price of the Skylink router will be one ruble, subject to connection to the tariff with Skylink XL unlimited internet and payment of a subscription fee for 3 months. When connecting to the Skylink L tariff, to participate in the promotion, you will need to pay a subscription fee for 4 months in the Tver and Novgorod regions, for 5 months - in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. In Moscow and the Moscow region, a router at a reduced price can be purchased when connecting the Skylink S tariff when paying a monthly fee for six months.

The Skylink XL tariff provides customers with unlimited Internet access regardless of the time of day and without restrictions on file hosting and torrents services. The subscription fee is 990 rubles per month for Skylink subscribers in St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Novgorod and Tver regions, 1190 rubles per month for customers in the Moscow region. The Skylink L tariff includes 15 GB of Internet traffic. At the same time, unused gigabytes do not “burn out” at the end of the month, but are transferred to the next period. Skylink Internet on a "home" tariff can be used when traveling in Russia in Skylink networks and Tele2 4G networks.

The Skylink M1 mini, H1 and V-FL500 models participate in the promotion. The compact Skylink M1 router supports up to 8 devices simultaneously: laptops, smartphones, tablets, and works up to 8 hours without recharging. The router is suitable for long-distance travel and country trips. H1 or V-FL500 routers can provide high speed internet up to 30 devices. At the same time, the V-FL500 runs on battery power for up to two hours - the Internet will be available even if the electricity goes out.

Routers operate in all LTE Tele2 bands, due to this, the operator's LTE coverage area expands by 2-3 times. The Skylink router will work both in the city and far outside the city, in the countryside, in the country.

Dmitry Kurilov, Director for Development and Implementation of the LTE-450 Tele2 project:

“LTE-450 base stations provide mobile Internet within a radius of up to 25 kilometers, while in other frequency bands - only 3-5 km. For our country, given the huge distances, Skylink is certainly important and desired project. Last year, a discount on routers and an update to the Skylink tariff line significantly affected the growth dynamics of connections: in the Leningrad and Novgorod regions, there were six times more subscribers over the year. I am sure that the opportunity to purchase routers at a symbolic price will allow everyone who wants to use the Internet even in remote places to try Skylink.”

Tele2 has been providing mobile Internet services in LTE-450 networks under the Skylink brand since 2016. The networks operate in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, in the Tver and Novgorod regions. Features of the 450 MHz band allow base stations cover a large area and provide high-speed mobile Internet to remote villages, summer cottages, country recreation centers.
