How to get started with a bitmap on a plate. Spot painting with paints in the decor of plates, dishes and ceramics. Patterns for painting

The purpose of my master class is to acquaint everyone with this technique and show that dot painting is a fascinating and very contagious form of creativity. Having tried it once, it is simply impossible to stop later :)
Time flies behind the dot painting, and the result exceeds the wildest expectations.
Dot painting is good because when creating ornaments, you can fantasize endlessly, correct the drawings while working, adding all the new elements and lines.
You can draw by hand, or you can use ready-made stencils. As you can see, there are many possibilities, and each work turns out to be unique and unrepeatable.
For work I used:
- the plate is shallow, transparent, glass. In my case, the diameter of the plate is 20 cm;
- paper;
- pencil;
- compasses;
- ruler;
- Scotch;
- scissors;
- acrylic outlines for glass and ceramics. Colors: gold, bronze, white, purple;
- acrylic paint for the background;
- sponge or sponge for applying acrylic paint;
- glass degreaser (alcohol, acetone).

First, draw and cut out a stencil from paper. I have two stencils. A circle with a floral ornament - for the central part of the plate. The second stencil is for edging the plate. The stencils are designed and hand-drawn.

Using scotch tape, we attach the paper with the image to the back of the plate.

Degrease the working surface of the plate. When the surface is dry, you can start drawing dots and creating a pattern.
We start by marking the main lines of the drawing - ovals, which are intertwined. I outlined all the ovals with a bronze outline.

You can and should use a stencil when the task is to draw a symmetrical image.
Outline the rhombuses inside the composition with dots of gold color. To prevent the points from merging with each other, observe the distance between them and take short breaks from work, letting the points dry out a little. The colors of the contours can of course be chosen at your discretion.

White outline is good for freshening up a drawing. We put large white dots at the base of the ovals.

Now we continue to draw with a white outline, but make small dots: draw small petals.

We put large dots inside the gold rhombuses with a bronze outline. Draw rows of dots inside the white petals. It is important to change the colors of the outlines so that the contrast is visible.

On this stage the stencil of the central part is no longer needed, since all the main lines of the drawing are outlined. You can safely remove the stencil.

Now you can give free rein to your imagination. Fill in the space between the golden rhombuses with small dots.

The floral ornament is already clearly visible. Put large white dots on the outside of the picture and connect the dots to each other by drawing oval lines. At this stage, draw oval lines through one. Fill the empty gaps with golden dots.

Draw lines with large purple dots above the white shaft lines in parallel.
Draw dots with a white outline above the golden lines.
When working with paths, I noticed that the non-metallic path colors (white, yellow, green, purple, and so on) are more fluid than colors such as gold, silver, and bronze. Therefore, when working, including with a purple outline, be careful: make the distance between the points larger, otherwise the points will simply merge into a solid line.

Now draw the next row above the purple dots - the gold one. We "pull out" these elements by drawing the lines with the colors of the contours in the following order: bronze, white, purple.

This completes the design of the central part of the composition. Let's start edging the plate. On the edge of the plate, draw lines with dots of bronze color. And so we do along the entire circumference.

Add dots in gold and then white.

This is how the plate looks like without stencils.

The final step: creating the background. The background in this case is mandatory, since on clear glass the drawing is lost and does not look as impressive as we would like.
To do this, turn the plate over and use a sponge to apply acrylic paint with blotting movements.

I needed to apply two coats of paint to make the plate opaque. Drying time for each layer is at least 1 hour.
Leave the finished work to dry completely, and then enjoy the result.

The most beautiful things can only be obtained by combining such components as inspiration and craftsmanship. Interior items decorated with dot painting are a prime example of this. Spectacular panels, original installations decorated with dot patterns can become a real highlight of the kitchen interior, being a worthy addition to any design. And the creation of such decorative elements is in itself a fascinating exercise. To master this uncomplicated, but rather original technique, we suggest taking two spot painting master classes for beginners as a basis.

The point-to-point technique was originally used in Russia to create coinage. Later it became known as "drip": the paint was simply collected in straws and "dripped" onto the image. Today, spot painting, which has absorbed the techniques of graphics, mosaics and stained glass, is captivating more and more people with the ease of execution, grace and beauty of the drawing.

This popular technique is also known as point-to-point.

The principle of drawing the contours of the ornament lies in the very name of the technique: a drawing is created as a result of a combination of many points. Each of them can have a different color and size. And they can be applied in different colors.

Simplicity is the main advantage of spot painting

Anyone is capable of creating his own masterpiece, even if he has never held an artistic brush in his hands and has no idea how to draw correctly.

Dot painting is the most in a simple way, with which you can breathe new "life" into old souvenirs or accessories that have lost their attractiveness over time.

The application technique is determined by the shape of the item to be decorated and the material from which it is made. This technique can be used to decorate any surface: dishes and kitchen utensils, caskets and passport covers, laptop and phone cases.

The subtleties of choosing materials for painting

Using in work different kinds paints, you can decorate cutlery, tableware items and any other interior items. For painting on dishes, it is better to choose paints that are distinguished by increased moisture resistance and photosensitivity.

When choosing paint for decoration, consider the type of surface on which they will be applied. Otherwise, the pattern you created will not last long on the object. Painting can be done using the following types of paints:

  • Clay objects - paints for ceramics and glass. They are also called contour paints. They are sold in small tubes with an elongated spout.
  • Metal accessories - painted with enamel paints. Decorations decorated with enamel are distinguished by their durability, brightness and purity of colors.
  • Products textile production- "fabric" acrylic. Garment contours are less abrasion resistant.

Tip: when buying paints, test the tubes, paying attention to the density of the composition. To determine the consistency, press the tube: the paint should not come out too easily, forming a puddle, but it should not be too difficult to squeeze out.

Paints for painting are:

  • water-based - they are easily washed off with water;
  • on organic - removed from the surface only with a solvent such as white spirit.

For painting surfaces in contact with food, special paints should be used, which must be fired at a temperature of 600-800 ° C. It is impossible to use such paints at home. For these purposes, craftswomen choose self-hardening paints. They harden without firing for 2 days. But such circuits are less resistant to detergents. Dishes painted with self-hardening acrylic paints, requires more careful handling.

There are two types of paints for painting dishes:

  • Overglaze - a mixture of pigments with fusible glass. They are applied to glazed dishes.
  • Underglaze - a mixture of pigments with glaze. They are used to decorate unglazed surfaces. A transparent overglaze layer, which makes the dishes shiny, is applied already on top of the drawing.

Depending on what effect you plan to get, choose paints: forming a matte or glossy finish, translucent stained glass and opaque opaque compositions. It is convenient to use 3D gels to create volumetric points and "pearls".

Highlights when painting utensils

Point-to-point is a rather demanding type of creativity. Indeed, the presentability of the product depends on the perseverance of the master and the accuracy of the work. This technique does not tolerate slowness and carelessness.

Painting tableware, be it decorative plates or graceful vases, using the point technique includes a number of main stages:

  1. Preparation of the base. The surface of the object is degreased with alcohol or nail polish remover.
  2. Background drawing. On the prepared base, apply the background of the desired shade with any paint: gouache, acrylic, automotive, stained glass. For this purpose, it is convenient to use an acrylic primer: when applied thickly, it gives a cloudy white shade.
  3. Marking the future drawing. It's better to come up with a drawing in advance, but even if you start to improvise, you will certainly get a wonderful pattern.
  4. Drawing creation. An ornament is created by alternately applying dots of the selected color and size.

Master class: spot painting of a glass bottle

Spot painting is able to transform any objects, making them original decorative elements. Using this technique, you can easily transform an inconspicuous glass bottle into an amazing vessel or unusual flower vase.

The main thing is to choose the texture and color palette of paints so that the accessory created by your hands will organically fit into the design of the room.

Selection of materials and tools

To make an original vessel you will need:

  • Glass bottle;
  • degreaser;
  • universal soil;
  • acrylic paints for painting on glass;
  • flat wide synthetic brush.
  • aerosol varnish to protect and fix the pattern.

When choosing a glass shade, keep in mind that spot painting looks most impressive on dark surfaces

It is convenient to use flat glass bottles for painting dishes. Background paint is applied to them only if the shade or transparency of the product is not satisfied.

Preparation of the glass base

The bottle is cleaned of labels and thoroughly degreased with an alcohol-containing liquid. The primer is applied with a wide brush, evenly distributing it over the surface.

A pattern for decorating a bottle can be taken from the Internet, having spied ideas on thematic forums, or you can come up with it yourself. To make the pattern even and symmetrical, a strip of a notebook sheet is fixed on the outer walls of the bottle with the help of adhesive tape. The width of the stripe will determine the size of the pattern. In the proposed version, the pattern will be 13 cells wide.

The central line of the pattern is drawn along the edge of the glued sheet.

Application of basic patterns

Start painting the bottle. A strip of several points of the same size is applied along the upper edge of the sheet with an acrylic contour. When working with a contour, the tube must be held vertically. Thanks to this, the dots are smooth and symmetrical.

Tip: blots and inaccuracies that often occur when applying dots can be easily eliminated with a hygienic stick moistened with alcohol.

Leaf cells will help you work out the distance between points and create a straight line

Use stencil templates to create smooth semicircles and bends in the pattern. You can make them yourself by cutting out a blank of the desired size from the same sheet of paper. To determine the size of the semicircles, you need to divide the bottle circumference by the number of elements.

Tip: do not forget to re-degrease the surface from time to time with a napkin soaked in alcohol, since fingerprints will reappear on the glass during the painting process.

Attaching the template to the glass, make a contour of small dots.

Painting framing contours

To obtain ornate openwork patterns, the dots are applied in different sizes, alternating between them.

Drawing hearts and flowers, feel free to let your imagination run wild

When creating new ornamental elements, a stencil of the required size is cut out again and outlines for the future contour are made on it.

The points marked according to the template are "pointed" with an acrylic contour

If the small details of the pattern can be done "by eye", then when painting large elements with acrylic paints you cannot do without templates.

The bottle can be painted with paint until the entire surface is covered

Anyone who has ever tried to create lace patterns from a scattering of dots will confirm that the process of creating an ornament is simply mesmerizing.

Video: the process of painting on glass with acrylic paints

Plate decoration using the "point-to-point" technique

The plate painting technique is not much different from the bottle decorating process described above. The first step is to carefully degrease the surface and transfer the sketch markings to a glass or ceramic surface.

Experienced craftswomen can draw without sketches right away on a plate, coming up with patterns along the way. We still recommend that beginner needlewomen think over the artistic concept in advance by choosing ornaments and choosing a color palette for themselves.

For the first work, it is most convenient to use transparent glass plates as a basis.

A sheet with a sketch of the motive of the drawing is placed under the plate, and then the contours are drawn point by point

Before you start painting, practice creating outlines on paper from small and large dots, placing them at the same distance from each other.

It is better to start the contouring from the center of the plate, gradually moving towards its edges.

So that the drawing does not accidentally shift during work, it is better to glue the cut template for a while with back side plates with tape or electrical tape.

Draw on the principle "from general to specific": starting with drawing large outlines and ending with the elaboration of small details

When creating lines, keep such a minimum distance between points so that they are well "read", but at the same time do not merge into a solid line

If drawing from tubes is difficult for you, draw dots with a toothpick or needle

The choice of shades and their alternation depends only on your imagination and the chosen pattern.

The paint applied to the plate should harden.

Under natural conditions, the paint hardens within 24 hours. To speed up the process, blow dry the surface and leave the decorated plate for 10-12 hours. After the paint has completely dried, it remains only to fix the drawing with varnish.

Video master class: painting accessories using the "point to point" technique

Having mastered the technique of spot painting, you can easily bring your ideas to life, developing the makings of an artist in yourself. Decor elements created with their own hands will become a source of pride for the hostess of the kitchen and a worthy interior decoration.

Spot painting on the example of decorating a glass. Master Class

Prepared by: Rybalko Elena Anatolyevna, educator kindergarten No. 1 of the city of Kiselevsk.
Goals: acquaintance with non-traditional drawing techniques; the formation of aesthetic and artistic taste; development of hand motor skills, perseverance.
The dot painting technique has been known for a long time.... Initially, the point was used as a means and the basis of a drawing in chasing. Then it began to be called drip, because the paint was collected in straws and applied by "dripping" onto the drawing. This technique is typical for Persia and India, Africa and Thailand. Perhaps the first to come up with dot painting were the Australian aborigines, who used this technique in order to convey their message through generations about their history, way of life, victories and defeats.
The dot has been used since ancient times and in mehndi, henna body painting, which came to us from India and North Africa and is still popular in these countries. Also, dot painting was used in China. Now it is already formed dot painting, which is captivating more and more people with the ease, grace and beauty of the pattern. This technique allows you to decorate clothes, shoes, interior items. To work in this technique, paints are used, which are selected in accordance with the material on which the work will be performed (glass, ceramics, wood ...). In the Western manner, point painting began to be called point-to-point painting, from the English point - point.

In order to work with contours, it is not at all necessary to be able to draw well. After all, everyone can depict primitive figures - leaves, flowers, animals for a child. These skills are enough!
2. Any complex pattern consists of a set of simple elements. You just need to be able to highlight these parts.
3. It is better to start drawing on simple and unnecessary things, matte smooth surfaces are best suited for this. You can safely experiment on them without fear of spoiling. This type of painting very well develops fine motor skills of the hands, perseverance and has a positive effect on the nervous system.

Materials:

For painting, we need paints on glass, a pencil, a sheet of paper, cotton wool, cotton swabs, nail polish remover, toothpicks and, of course, the glass itself.

Sequence of work:

Draw a drawing on a sheet of paper with a pencil, or cut out any one you like and attach it with tape from the inside of the glass. Here are some images for example:

Wipe the outside of the glass wall with nail polish remover or alcohol to degrease the surface (so that the paint lies flat and does not accumulate).
We draw points along the contour of our drawing in any color. I chose blue.

After drawing the outline, you can start filling in the color of the picture itself. For painting, I chose a lilac shade, which I had in stock.

In order for the work to look complete and voluminous, you should make a contour according to the picture. For this purpose, light or pearlescent shades are most suitable. In this work, the outline is white.

After the paint has dried, the surface of the drawing should be covered with a colorless acrylic varnish.
I WISH YOU CREATIVE SUCCESS AND FANTASY FLIGHT !!!

Spot painting of bottles - a master class for beginners can be seen below - will appeal to everyone who wants to simply and originally decorate the interior or make a gift. You can decorate the bottle in different ways: make decoupage, glue fittings, shells, buttons, or just paint it with paints. The result can be a beautiful decorative vase. Separately, it is worth noting the dot painting, which is done with special contour paints that can last for a long time and not fade. The painting technique is very simple, you can master it quickly and easily. However, there are some features of the work that you should pay attention to so that the craft turns out to be beautiful and harmonious.

Principles of technology

The essence of the technique is to create a picture or pattern using dots, without using straight, continuous lines. Spot painting on glass is done with special contour acrylic paints, which are sold in tubes with an easy-to-use spout.

Paints come in a variety of colors, but the most commonly used paint is black, gold, silver or white. For spot painting, ordinary acrylic (for glass) of different colors and shades in jars is also acceptable, but to apply it to the surface of the bottle, you must use a stick, for example, from a brush.

In this case, it is worth considering the consistency of the paint: it is not recommended to dilute it liquid, otherwise it will drain.

Contour paints are thicker in consistency and do not require dilution. It is enough to buy several tubes, open them and start working.

The simplest painting, which a beginner can cope with, is done using a stencil drawing. Stencils can be downloaded and printed, redrawn from the monitor, or bought ready-made in the store for creativity. These can be fancy patterns, images of animals, birds, insects, flowers.

The main thing is that they contain as many small lines and as few empty spaces as possible. Then the finished picture, despite the fact that it is made with dots, will look full, like a mosaic.

Of course, you can apply drawings and fancy patterns to the bottle by hand, and you can also start drawing right away on the glass surface. But if you are not confident in your artistic skills, it is better to use a finished picture.

We start to create

So, to create a spot painting you will need:

  • any clean (no labels) bottle;
  • contour paints;
  • degreasing liquid (alcohol or nail polish remover);
  • cotton pads and cotton swabs;
  • contour templates;
  • needle;
  • acrylic varnish and brushes.

General progress of work:

  1. Degrease the surface of the bottle: moisten a cotton pad with alcohol or nail polish remover and walk on the glass;
  1. Transfer the drawing to the bottle;
  1. Slightly pressing on the tube, start applying dots along the lines of the drawing (remove irregularities and excess paint with a cotton swab);

  1. When the work is finished, leave it to dry, preferably for a day;
  1. To protect the paint, varnish the bottle (if desired).

The craft is ready!

The easiest way to transfer a drawing to a bottle is to use a carbon copy. If it is not there, then you can make it yourself. To do this, it is enough to paint over the printed picture from the back side with a soft simple pencil. After that, fix the drawing with the shaded side on the bottle, for example, using adhesive tape, and circle the main elements of the drawing with pressure.

Barely noticeable lines should remain on the glass surface of the bottle, which will become a guide for applying the pattern.

Also, traces from a pencil remain well on the painted surface, so it is recommended to paint the bottle with acrylic before painting. For example, as in the photo:

The size of the dot depends on the intensity of pressure on the tube. Large dots, as a rule, "circle" first large, basic details of the pattern, and then proceed to small lines. Large dots can be alternated with small ones. It is also necessary to maintain an equal distance between each point. The more accurate the painting, the more accurate and harmonious the work as a whole will look.

Before starting work, it is recommended to practice on paper. Ethnic patterns with small details and contours are suitable for the bottle. Crafts can be very stylish. Such vases will look beautiful and original on their own, especially if the shape of the bottle is round and resembles an amphora or African jug.

To fill the entire surface of the bottle with colored dots, it is recommended to use ready-made patterns, for example, for embroidery. You can transfer only a grid with the same cells to the bottle with a pencil, and then just focus on the color pattern.
