Handleless suitcase syndrome. How to break off relationships that have become obsolete? What gives throwing away unnecessary things reviews

1. Hopelessly damaged things. Stained shirts, stretchy T-shirts, and moth-eaten sweaters don't belong in your closet. Why keep something that you are unlikely to wear at least once?

2. Clothes that don't fit you. The reason, I think, is clear.

3. Old shoes. If it can be brought into a divine form, do it. Couples that are not recoverable are sent to the trash.

4. Worn underwear. When the bra is no longer able to support the chest properly, it's time to replace it with a new one. It's embarrassing to talk about torn underpants - put them in the trash, that's all.

5. Stockings and tights with puffs or holes. Yes, yes, they can still be sewn up and worn under jeans or trousers. Either sew it up at last, or get rid of obviously useless things.

6. Leaky socks. It's the same as in the previous paragraph: sew it up or throw it away - it's up to you, so long as the socks do not continue to lie idle.

7. Jewelry that has lost its former appearance. Everything is clear with jewelry: a broken lock, a torn chain or a dropped rhinestone are quite good reasons to throw away a bracelet or necklace. Jewelry should not be scattered, it is better to give them for repair.

8. Old holiday dresses. Do you think there is a good chance that you will someday wear the outfit that you shone in at high school prom? If the dress is in good condition, try to sell it. If not, well, even with such things one must be able to say goodbye.

9. Shabby bags. And there are wallets. Agree, the chance that you will one day decide to go out with a worn out bag is zero.

10. Old bathing suits and swimming trunks. Say goodbye without regret to all stretched and faded pieces.

11. Spare buttons for clothes you no longer wear. After all, what are you going to do with a set of completely different buttons?

Cosmetics and personal care

12. Old cosmetics. First, since you haven't used it yet, it's unlikely that you'll ever need this eye shadow, lip gloss, or foundation. Second, they have an expiration date. When it came to an end, it's time to say goodbye to the product.

13. Dried nail polish. Even if you dilute it with a special liquid, it still cannot be compared with fresh. Throw away without hesitation.

14. Eau de toilette samples. Why save them if you don't like the scent?

15. Samplers of cosmetics. Either use it or throw it away, there is no middle ground.

16. Old toiletries. A bald toothbrush and a cracked soap dish are not something that should be carefully stored for many years.

17. Stretched hair bands. Here is good news for connoisseurs of rubber bands-telephone wires: bathe the rubber bands in boiling water, they will be as good as new.

18. Invisible hairpins. Shake out the drawer with cosmetics or the box where you store jewelry, you will surely find a few hairpins there. Since you do not use them, then there is no point in storing them.

19. Almost finished cosmetics and household chemicals. There is a little money left on the bottom, it seems like it’s time to throw it away, but the toad is strangling. Give the toad a fitting rebuff and send almost empty bottles and jars to the trash can.

Food and kitchen utensils

20. Spoiled products. Will you eat them? So no one will, so feel free to send the old-timers of your refrigerator to the trash can.

21. Old spices and seasonings. Like other products, they have . When it comes to an end, it's time for the spices to leave your kitchen cabinet.

23. Old sponges for washing dishes. By the way, they should be changed regularly, and this should be done before the sponge starts to smell.

24. Pots and pans with scratched non-stick coatings. What's the point of this cover when only one name is left of it?

25. Empty jars and jars. Why keep them at all is not clear. Apparently, in the hope that someday all this will come in handy. Let's be honest, did it come in handy at least once? If not, goodbye, jars!

26. Kitchen utensils you don't use. Give a completely new one to friends, throw out the used one.

27. Food containers you don't use. And at the same time, those that have lost their former appearance - the lid cracked, for example.

Housing

36. Trinkets. A figurine of a pig, presented to you on the occasion of the onset of the year of this animal, is appropriate once every 12 years. Release the pig to freedom, do not torture. Souvenirs from travels and fridge magnets will make her an excellent company.

37. New Year decoration who are not happy. A garland where several light bulbs do not burn, a glass ball that, instead of a factory fixture, is held on a cunningly curved wire - do not turn the Christmas tree into an exhibition of junk.

38. Broken electronics and household appliances. If you still haven't fixed it, then you don't really need it.

39. Spare parts for furniture. Gather up all those parts and screws that seem to multiply by fission and throw them straight into the trash can.

waste paper

41. School and university textbooks. You probably won't need them. Give them to the library, so there will be at least some use from the books. And you can throw out the notes with a clear conscience.

42. Postcards and invitations to weddings. If they are dear to you as a memory, leave them, but it makes no sense to keep a stack of postcards with on-duty wishes for happiness and health.

43. Newspapers and magazines. Including those that you wrote out at school for lessons foreign language. You never know, suddenly you still keep them.

44. Discount cards for stores you don't go to. It is logical: if you don’t go, then you don’t use cards.

45. Discount coupons that have expired. They won't give you a discount anyway.

46. Junk from the mailbox. Catalogs of amazing products, flyers with discounts from the nearest store, and similar printed materials should be stored where they belong: in the trash can.

Miscellaneous little things

52. Boxes from household appliances. The very ones that are kept by thrifty citizens on cabinets. When the warranty period ends, the boxes should be sent to the trash can.

57. Old stationery. Stickers, dry markers and pens, folders for papers, and all that.

59. Old CDs and DVDs. Music you don't listen to anymore computer programs, which you are unlikely to ever use, films that you have watched more than once ... Why do you need all this?

60. Souvenirs from promotions. Suppose they handed you a T-shirt, where the logo of a milk producer flaunts across the chest. Will you wear it? No, right?

61. Gifts you don't use. Or the ones you just don't like. Give them to people who will appreciate the gifts at their true worth.

62. Used batteries. Hand them over for recycling, there is probably a collection point for batteries and accumulators in your city.

63. Toys for animals. Of course, those to which your pet is indifferent. It is unlikely that he will ever change his mind and decide that a mouse on wheels or a squeaky rubber chicken is the dream of his life.

64. Board games where details are missing. They won't be able to play well.

65. Wrinkled bows and ribbons for gift wrapping. Since they have lost their former appearance, then it is not worth decorating a gift with them.

Order in the house is order in the head, so make it a rule to arrange such cleaning from time to time. By the way, what would you add to this list?

Plushkins of the 21st century

We bought a new TV, but the old one is not needed, and the hand does not rise to throw it away - a familiar situation? Cluttered balconies with one ski, rusty sleds, a non-working refrigerator and a bag of old soft toys until recently they were a mandatory part of the average Soviet apartment. However, even today, when the 21st century is in the yard, little has changed.

I am a real plushkin, - Svetlana, mother of two children, admits. “I can’t throw anything away, and I always have an explanation ready. I left children's toys for future grandchildren, I can easily walk at home in this old T-shirt, and jeans, which I have not fit into for five years, will definitely come in handy: after all, I will lose weight someday! As a result, the number of things in my apartment is multiplying, and their deposits have long gone beyond the balcony and pantry. All the cabinets are tightly packed, there is not a single free corner in the apartment, but I still practically do not throw anything away. From experience I know: sooner or later, each of these things I will definitely need. It cannot be otherwise - after all, I paid money for them!

A poll conducted by Komsomolskaya Pravda showed that the overwhelming majority of our readers agree with Svetlana to one degree or another. 90 percent of us keep things in the bins that we will never need, and every third admits that they don’t know how to part with old things at all - it’s a pity to throw away absolutely everything!

Story Items

Indeed, getting rid of old things is not so easy. An old camera (it still works!), unfashionable boots (but they are almost new, and fashion always returns), school notebooks and diaries of a child (they take up very little space, but he had such cute handwriting!) - with all these things parting is almost impossible.

The so-called things-memories stand apart here. Old postcards and letters, a New Year's costume that helped win first place in the competition, a trinket brought from the first trip abroad, a plush toy donated by the first fan - every tenth respondent is sorry to part with these and similar things.

Of course, one can understand attachment to objects that embody memories. But, on the other hand, not a single thing in our life came from nowhere, which means that each of them has a more or less interesting, but still a story. So what now, nothing to throw away at all?

Out of sight, out of mind!

The opinion that deposits of old things block access to everything new in our lives is quite popular. Yes, and practice has confirmed more than once: new events, new people and new things come into our lives only when a place has been vacated for them. That is, if everything is yours living space cluttered with piles of unnecessary junk, then nothing new will shine for you!

This simple truth well known to few Ukrainians. Only every tenth respondent admitted that he easily parted with any unnecessary items that have served their time. What to do to join these 10 percent?

There is an unspoken rule among Europeans: it is better to get rid of things that have never been used during the year. Of course, we have not yet reached the European standard of living, so we will increase " probation"twice.

So, take away the things that you have never needed for two years. It can be old sweaters, t-shirts and jeans, tattered glossy magazines, boxes that "will definitely need someday" and much more. Get rid of frank trash immediately. Then select things that can be applied using our tips (see "KP Tips").

In a good way, it’s better to throw away the rest right away, but if your hand doesn’t rise, put these leftovers in bags and boxes, attach an inventory of the things there to the packages and put them in the closet, in the attic, mezzanine or in the far corner of the closet. After a year, return to these boxes, but do not open them any more, but determine the fate of the old things according to the inventory. Psychologists assure: it is much easier to throw away a thing if it is considered. By the way, when making a decision, remember that now you have easily lived without these things for three whole years!

TIPS "KP"

Getting rid of the past

1 The easiest and most obvious way is to take things to the country. This, of course, is not a cardinal deliverance, but you will still free the apartment.

2 You can give things to people who need them, and finding them is easy. For example, my neighbor once complained to the postman that she had a lot of unnecessary clothes- All cupboards are stocked. She gladly agreed to transport these things to relatives in the village. Now the neighbor has a double benefit: it has become easier to breathe in the apartment, and homemade eggs, milk and cottage cheese periodically appear in the refrigerator as a token of gratitude.

3 You can put all the things that are stored "just in case" into action. On specialized sites (by the way, one of them is called the Plyushkin site) you will be given a variety of tips on how to use leftover yarn, scraps of fabric, jars of cream, out of fashion jewelry, shells brought from the sea and much more from what that the hand never rose to throw it away.

4 Unnecessary furniture, household appliances, old computers and phones, children's things you can try to sell through sites of used things. By the way, according to the conclusion made by the analysts of the free ads portal Slando, the most popular used goods among Ukrainians in 2012 were used sofas, bicycles and iPhones.

PSYCHOLOGIST'S OPINION

Melancholic people do not know the value of property, while choleric people joyfully make room for everything new.

Attitude towards old things, as well as many other things, is determined personal qualities, which, in turn, largely depend on temperament, - explains psychologist Victoria Egorova. - Sanguine people part with the past most easily - both with old attachments and with old things. Melancholics do not feel any particular regret either: due to their general “renunciation”, they are not inclined to notice material value things and keep only things dear to the heart. The most difficult thing is to "part with the past" for phlegmatic people. They find a thousand reasons not to throw anything away: because they got used to it, because a lot of money was paid, because it can still come in handy, because they were especially happy in this particular blouse. But sometimes they still have enough common sense make general cleaning and get rid of something. The main initiators of active liberation are choleric people. Everything is possible here: both the unrestrained gifting of relatives and neighbors, and simply throwing away in order to quickly buy a new one.

Almost everyone has something at home that has been kept idle for years.
Whether it's a TV stand, although the TV itself hangs on the wall, or part of a sheet of drywall, waiting for the next repair.
I understand that many have grown up in an era of scarcity and cannot afford to throw away a good rail or parquet remnants, but still I suggest reconsidering our view of stored things.

Everything you need, everything good, everything will come in handy.

My relatives are littered with some necessary things.
For example, tiles, slates, boards, pipes, rusty motors from victory, wire have been stored in a private house for years. It does not just lie, it occupies where there could well be a children's area or a barbecue corner with a gazebo. And in a 2-room apartment, another relative keeps the old drywall left after the repair of the living room, doors from a discarded closet, a tank of 100 liters !! It just sits in the closet. Metal profile, wires. All this garbage is useful place. There is nowhere to put a dishwasher, but half of the loggia is littered with insulation.

All persuasions, in the style: "If necessary, you can buy everything" are met with hostility, motivated by the fact that there is no need to throw it away unnecessary thing and this is where it all comes in handy!
And my relatives live like this for decades! And they tried to infect me with this: “Don’t throw away the old refrigerator. Don’t sell the piano, let it stand, the accordion is good German, the aquarium can be useful to the niece, the skis YOUTH are also good, the markers are also good (30 years at lunch), etc.

My philosophy

Here, a relative has 6 bags of gypsum plaster in the pantry. In monetary terms, this is about 1600 rubles. They've been in there for 6 years. and so much more will lie. And his wife does not know where to put the children's bike.
And I ask the head of the family:
Imagine that a neighbor knocked on your door and said: can I store half a cube of insulation and a couple of bags of cement at your place? I will pay you 1,500 rubles for this for 5 years of storage. Would you agree?
No answer.

Then I asked myself this question - and on the same day I called all my acquaintances with an offer to pick up everything that I do not need before the end of the day. Or I'll quit.

A new owner of the piano was immediately found, they took away the old hallway, the old TV, carpets (I gave everything away for free).

And when I got an empty apartment, I started repairing it.
After 2 months, I moved into a clean dwelling, where all the shelves are empty, all the lockers are clean, nothing is lying around.

Guys, we put our soul into the site. Thanks for that
for discovering this beauty. Thanks for the inspiration and goosebumps.
