It is interesting that only among the buyers of household appliances there are approximately equal shares of women and men (47% and 53%, respectively). All other categories of goods can be divided into "men" and "women". By the way, almost all product categories are dominated by female buyers.

Interestingly, among the buyers on the Internet, 23% are citizens of retirement age.

Breakdown by product category

Hello!

We present the results of a study conducted by DPDgroup in cooperation with Kantar TNS. The survey participants spoke about the prospects and trends of online shopping. This data will be useful for building a strategy for the development of an online store.

Who is buying?

  • The most active online shoppers in Russia are expected to be young people. They study and publish reviews on social media themselves, and also use mobile gadgets to shop - more often than older people.
  • The lion's share of Russian residents aged 55 and over make no more than two purchases a year in online stores.

What are they buying?

The respondents named the most popular product categories in the e-commerce industry. The list is quite expected, there are no surprises here:

  • clothing
  • Household appliances and electronics
  • Products for beauty and health
  • The maximum growth potential is in goods from the category "household appliances and electronics", as well as goods for sports and recreation.

The leadership of clothing and electronics is due to the ease of purchase. The consumer knows that the smartphone in the online store and in mall looks the same, can study all its characteristics in advance. Therefore, there are no problems with the choice.

It's the same with clothes: buyers know their size, brand, color, and are guided by reviews. This is the most massive category of purchases.

The popularity of sporting goods is associated with active propaganda healthy way life. Many experts rank online sports and leisure goods as one of the hottest trends. New brands appear on the market (including designer Russian ones).

Also, the popularity of sportswear is facilitated by the fact that it has long gone beyond the "only for the gym" - manufacturers present a wide range of goods for Everyday life... Corrective sportswear (push-up), all kinds of accessories and so on are becoming more and more relevant, which makes it possible for online stores to develop in many directions at once.

Sports and leisure products are great for promoting with the help of popular bloggers.

Where do they buy?

  • 79% of online shoppers from Russia choose "their" online stores: they regularly purchase goods on the same sites.
  • 21% of shoppers prefer to choose products from different online stores. This figure is 8% higher than the European average.

How do they rate their shopping experience?

  • 76% of respondents rated their most recent online shopping experience as “easy”.
  • 70% said they were completely satisfied with their customer experience.
  • 82% are determined to purchase goods online in the future.
  • “40% of online shoppers explained that they may stop purchasing certain products on the Internet due to a number of circumstances. These are: fear of over budget and poor quality of delivery and returns.
  • 2% of respondents returned their last online purchases (most of such orders are from the category of appliances and electronics).

The main complaints about delivery are too long terms and errors in ordering: the buyer received a completely different product than he paid for.

What drives you to make purchases?

  • 94% of respondents named as the most important factor making a purchase transparent and complete information about the cost of delivery.
  • For 92% of the respondents, the opportunity of free delivery from an online store became important.
  • 91% of respondents rated no hidden fees.
  • 70% have used free shipping last purchases.

Also, a positive decision to make a purchase is influenced by:

  • Providing full information about the cost of returning the goods.
  • Possibility to choose evening delivery of goods at a certain time.
  • Choice of delivery interval within an hour.
  • Delivery of the order on the day of order or the next day.
  • Informing about the delivery process in real time.

What is holding back online shopping?

  • Negative social media reviews.
  • Lack of clear information about the delivery date of the order.
  • Lack of goods that you want to buy.
  • Expensive, complicated or incomprehensible return procedure.

How is the delivery of goods carried out?

43% of respondents received an order through the Russian Post.

17% ordered home delivery.

16% of respondents received goods at the points of issue of orders.

On average, Russian online shoppers use 2.1 delivery locations. This is one of the most high performance in Europe.

What about overseas online stores?

69% of respondents have purchased goods on foreign sites at least once.

The share of goods purchased abroad in the total volume of online purchases among respondents was 20.2%.

83% of overseas purchases were made in China.

Let's recall the main trends in the field of online shopping:

  1. How more active person uses the Internet, the more likely it is that he will buy in online stores. He knows all the "pitfalls", and therefore online shopping does not cause fear or doubt in him.
  2. People are more likely to buy goods on the Internet if the purchase is standard or understandable in advance. If you are offering an exclusive product that has not yet had an analogue on the market, this can become a "threshold", but it is quite surmountable, provided that you use the right content (reviews, reviews, explaining videos, and so on).
  3. A customer who prefers online shopping is ready to pay extra for convenience: secure packaging, home delivery or courier delivery, on certain days and times.
  4. The search for information about a product is increasingly carried out "on the go" (in the literal sense of the word). Therefore, you need maximum investment and attention to adaptive versions of the online store and the convenience of shopping on mobile devices. According to Google, between 66% and 78% of clicks on grocery ads in various categories are from smartphones or tablets. This fact cannot be ignored.

What do you think of this study? Share your opinion in the comments!

Our new article will tell you how to properly cooperate with a web studio and get the maximum result from this cooperation.

Previously, our team and our clients were very sad people... We missed deadlines, and customers were dissatisfied with the quality. As a result, no one was making any money, and everyone was lashing out at each other.

Naturally, this situation could not suit us. After a long search, meditation, prayers and rituals, we finally found the main cause of all our troubles - incomplete, contradictory technical task... After we changed the approach to working on this insanely important document and were able to competently produce it to our clients, we all became happy. The company began to earn money, clients began to earn money and everyone began to smile more.

Mother Teresa used to say: "To preserve happiness, they must be shared." Following the precepts of the great man, we share the found formula with the community.

Let's say right away that since the work on the technical specification is going on both from the client's side and from the developer's side, there are recommendations for both parties. In this article, we will consider the recommendations for the customer. In the next article, we will definitely consider the recommendations for the performer.

What to do if the Executors, whom you ordered the site for, "screwed up" the project?

First, let's define - what is successful project? This is a project that, within the planned period, at least recouped its costs. Everything. Including hosting rent and your manager's salary who fills the site.

So: If you cannot calculate the income from the project or the amount of costs, or if the project does not pay off, congratulations, you have "screwed up" it.
You, of course, can accuse the developers of incompetence, change them, sue them. But according to our data, in the overwhelming majority of cases, this will definitely not lead to the successful delivery of the project on time. Moreover, by contacting other performers, you have a high chance of getting the same situation.

The fact is that a good, savvy customer can achieve the desired result even from a bad web studio, essentially acting as a work organizer for a poorly coordinated team. And an inexperienced customer who thinks that "you are professionals, do it well for me" will not get the desired result even by contacting a cool company.

It is important: To be guaranteed to get the desired result, you must order a website professionally.

What do you need to do to order a website professionally?

This paradox cannot be dealt with by most clients. “How so, I pay money! The site should please me! " Forget it. Nobody cares if you, your wife, or a department in your company like your site. The site should be liked by its visitors. The opinion of your wife or sister can only be taken into account if you decide to make money from them.

2. Okay, introduce your client very well.

Damn it, we don’t understand how some companies work at all and we don’t know who buys their services. Remember the previous point? How do you plan to define a good or bad site if you don't know who should like it?

No kidding. Each person is smart within their competence. I am good at programming in PHP, but when I need to whitewash the walls - a fool is a fool. Explain your business, your task, the scheme of work, your specifics. Do they ask you? Explain anyway. Refuse to listen? Come to the office of the company and kill one programmer at a time until the manager listens to you.

4. Remember: programming is only 30% of the work on a project.

There are many programmers on the market now. You can easily find the most different. But your customers are deeply perpendicular to how well thought out the database or application architecture is. Moreover, most projects on the web, from a programming point of view, are relatively simple, typical things. Your clients can only be attracted by a competent marketing policy coupled with thoughtful SEO. Only a well-thought-out interface can detain them on the site and ensure conversion. Only an experienced analyst can correctly reflect all the nuances of your business on your website. Never. Never order a website until multidisciplinary specialists have worked on your concept and have drawn up these documents.

5. TK without marketing analysis, prototypes of ALL interfaces, an SEO report and a detailed, specific, unambiguous description of each function is really just a piece of paper.

You can throw it out. Why? See the previous point. Moreover, you need to come to terms with the following facts:

  • No, you cannot compose yourself marketing analysis... Even if you worked as a marketer at Eldorado for 20 years. The web has its own specifics, you must have experience in this area.
  • No, you cannot prototype the interfaces yourself. If only because this is a group work. In which necessarily participate: a technical specialist, a designer, a manager, a marketer, a SEO specialist. If you do not have in the group, for example, technician, then you run the risk of developing an interface, the implementation of which will disproportionately require big money and effort.
  • No, you cannot compile an SEO report yourself. However, this is usually not doubted by the majority of clients.
  • And finally: no, you cannot write the TK yourself. Because a detailed description for you, for the programmer, and for the court (in case of a critical situation) are three big differences. In short, stop looking for bad, not working ways to reduce the cost of a project and do something useful.
6. Read the submitted documentation carefully and be responsible for key decisions.

You do business. A web studio or a programmer has their own business, with their own laws, which may not only be different, but also contradict the laws of yours. The duty of the web studio is to provide you with the information contained in the TOR and reports. And your responsibility is to make the final decision and convey it to the executing company. Don't forget this.

Where is the happiness?

Happiness comes when you, having spent money, energy and time, will observe the successful result of your labors. Because nothing is better than seeing the results of your efforts.

And remember: There is nothing worse than investing money, neglecting your client's responsibilities, and then feeling cheated.
Good luck to you and your projects!

What is profitable to sell - 5 high-demand products + 5 fashion products + 5 products that are suitable for trading on the Internet + useful tips.

If you want to open a business related to trade, you are probably interested in what is profitable to sell.

This is a completely natural question that arises at the beginning of an entrepreneurial path, because no one wants to work at a loss.

In connection with economic crisis the purchasing power of the population has decreased, but people still continue to buy goods and use services.

It is for this reason that sales will always be in demand and profitable business.

But you still need to find your niche, analyze the demand and set adequate prices, otherwise you can stay at the "broken trough" in anticipation of generous buyers.

How to determine the demand for goods that are profitable to sell?

The opening of any business begins with the analysis of the market, namely the determination of demand.

Why is it so important?

Imagine that you find suppliers from whom you buy goods and open a stationary or virtual store.

In anticipation of the first buyers, spend days, and then weeks, and the goods are still there.

And where are the promised benefits and profits?

Therefore, to prevent this situation from arising, it is necessary to conduct a demand analysis.

Demand Analysis Instruction:

    Go online.

This will be especially true if you want.

To do this, you need to study the statistics of requests using Yandex Wordstat and Google Trends.

For example, you want to sell educational toys for children.

To do this, type in keywords and check the number of requests.

If the figure is modest, it means that no one is interested in such a product.

In a situation with a large number of requests, you have a chance to start selling your toys profitably, but at the same time, this niche can be occupied by many competitors who will create a hindrance.

    Conduct marketing analysis.

To do this, check the ratio of supply and demand in the selected niche in your area.

Pay attention to what people are buying and which stores are empty without customers.

    Also analyze the prices.

Perhaps, they are overpriced for some groups of goods, and therefore the population is not ready to buy them precisely for this reason.

    Decide on your target audience.

Here, analyze the gender, age, purchasing power and location of your future customers.

For example, people from small town they are unlikely to appreciate your desire for elite dishes, where one plate will cost 5,000 rubles.

The same applies to the sale of agricultural machinery in the center of a metropolis.

But if in your city there are many young families with small children, and there are no shops with goods for them, but you see that there is a demand for them, then this is definitely your option, and you can sell them profitably.

Conduct a survey of potential buyers.

Create a short questionnaire with questions, print required amount copies and distribute them to the residents of your city.

Questions should be short and succinct so that a person can answer them in just a few minutes.

If you don't want to bother with leaflets, then just conduct a survey on social networks.

To do this, find the groups in your city and talk to their administrators.

Try a trial placement contextual advertising in the Internet.

Let's go back to the online store.

Thanks to this method, even before the start of sales, you will be able to understand what is profitable to sell on the Internet.

To do this, create landing page on the Internet (the user goes to it when they click on the advertisement), on which you post information about the product.

Of course, users will not be able to place a real order, as they will be notified that the product is out of stock or there is a problem on the server.

But by the number of clicks from the order page, you can analyze how interesting your product is to the population.

What is profitable to sell: 5 categories of goods "high demand"

Anyone who is at least a little familiar with the laws of economics knows that demand creates supply.

This truly catch phrase accurately demonstrates the trade relationship.

When the population has certain needs, then someone has to satisfy them.

And seekers of the answer to the question: "What is profitable to sell?" Come to the rescue.

And what the population wants will be beneficial.

It is customary to refer to goods of high demand:

    Food.

But here it is important not to miscalculate, if for every three residential buildings there is one grocery store then this is definitely not an option.

To sell food products profitably, you can choose one of the following options:

    • opening a store on a busy street or in a new area of your city (this is especially true in megacities);
    • opening stores with a specific category of goods, where you can offer customers a wide range of tea / coffee, dairy products, pastries, organic vegetables and fruits.
  1. Cosmetics, personal hygiene products and household chemicals.

After food, this category of goods is in second place, along with clothing.

Such goods are quickly consumed, so people must constantly update them.

If you want to sell them profitably, then take a look at new brands, as well as those that can only be found on the Internet.

    Clothes and footwear.

During a crisis, many are looking for an opportunity to save money, so it is profitable to sell inexpensive clothes and shoes.

As a rule, it is updated more often among the population, so you may have regular customers.

If you are ready for a larger-scale business, and do not want to spend a lot of time and energy on advertising, then pay attention to popular franchises.

It is profitable to sell them, because babies grow quickly, so parents are forced to constantly buy something new.

Diapers, hygiene products, infant formula, bottles and other goods necessary for children are in special demand.

    Household products.

Everything comes here, from small kitchen utensils to furniture and household appliances.

What is profitable to sell now?

Now let's move on to what is profitable to sell today.

    Small sports equipment and sportswear.

If you take advantage of the current fitness trend, you can create a profitable business.

Therefore, feel free to start selling home sports equipment (dumbbells, elastic bands, steppers, fitballs, weights, etc.), as well as sportswear.

    Coffee scrubs and Black Mask.

These products have gained their popularity thanks to.

And despite their great variety, you can break through if you offer girls new manufacturers or a better price.

    Original accessories.

Served right, you can profitably sell phone and tablet cases, backpacks, bags, wallets, hand-knitted hats and scarves, fancy chokers, jewelry, pillows, cups, photo frames, candles and home decorations.

You will need to create a certain concept for the chosen direction, and try to offer buyers something that is not yet on the market.

For example, do not sell bags and wallets that you can buy in a regular store, offer accessories self made or in some particular style.

    Coloring antistress (coloring for adults).

This is the bestseller of this and last year.

You can really get hooked on these coloring pages, and having decorated one copy, you want to start a new one.

    It's also a great gift.

Therefore, look for a variety of options so that the buyer can choose what he likes.

    Beard care products.

Again, it is fashion that has left its mark here.

Increasingly, you can see young people and men growing beards on the streets.

Therefore, various means for their care are extremely relevant.

Open a small conceptual and stylish store with a wide range of beard care products (oil, gel, wax, shampoo), or create a website to sell them.

The second option is even more profitable, since you do not need to pay for the maintenance of a stationary point of sale.

What is profitable to sell on the Internet?

We have smoothly approached the topic of what is profitable to sell on the Internet.

The volume of online purchases is increasing every year, because buyers derive some advantages from them:

  • no need to go anywhere and look for something,
  • you can buy everything that you can't get in your city,
  • there is an opportunity to think over everything and find a product at a better price.

Of course, on the Internet it is profitable to sell clothes, cosmetics, children's, sports and home goods.

But in this section I would like to talk about those categories that we have not yet touched upon.

5 lucrative products to sell online:

    Electronic equipment and accessories.

This includes smartphones, tablets, electronic books, smart watches, portable chargers, headphones, cases, protective glasses and films.

A 200-400% mark-up allows you to profitably sell the product and quickly recoup your investment.

Despite the crisis, people periodically change their electronic equipment, especially since now it can be found for every taste and wallet.

Spare parts, cosmetics and accessories for cars.

The constant increase in the number of cars leads to an increase in demand for various components and accessories for them.

And during the crisis, sales on them increase to huge volumes.

This is due to the fact that the population cannot always afford to buy a new car, so they prefer to renew spare parts for it.

In addition, not everyone lives in large cities, where there is a huge selection of spare parts, special cosmetics and car accessories.

And on the Internet you can find everything you need.

    Drones and quadcopters.

These kinds of goods are booming now, as people love entertainment.

By attaching a camera to them, you can see the earth from a bird's eye view, which certainly attracts people.

The relevance of selling drones on the Internet is due to the fact that initially they could be ordered in foreign online stores.

In addition, it is on the network that there is a large selection aircraft in different price categories.

    Hobby goods.

This includes: embroidery, diamond mosaics, items for drawing, scrapbooking and decoupage, and more.

Opening a store with this content is extremely unprofitable, since it is impossible to collect in one locality a large number of addicted people.

    LED lightening.

In the era of colossal energy consumption, many are switching to more economical light consumption.

LED lighting is 5-6 times more economical than incandescent lamps.

That is why it is so profitable to sell new generation lighting.

By providing a wide range of lamps of different wattage and price categories, you will be able to meet the demand of buyers.

To trade goods from China online,

pay attention to some of the nuances that are outlined in the video:

Remember, only after careful analysis of demand can you find out what is profitable to sell now in modern world.

Take your time and look at a few ideas.

Explore in more detail each of them, and choose what you like.

Only in this case you will be able to establish an interesting and profitable business.
