Spunlace nonwoven fabric production line. Various textures and densities. Laminated spunlace is available

The creation of non-woven materials in the world has become, perhaps, the most promising direction in the textile industry. The volume and growth rate of their production is disproportionately higher than in other sectors of the textile industry, such as, for example, fabrics and knitwear. The production of nonwoven materials in the world over the past 10 years has increased by almost 3 times and in 2002 amounted to over 3 million tons per year and is mainly concentrated in Western Europe, the USA, Japan and China.

This feature is explained by the fact that in the production of nonwoven materials, the shortest and cheapest way to obtain a wide range of textile fabrics from raw materials to finished products. The rapid development of nonwovens abroad was facilitated by the creation of high-performance methods for their production, such as:

Polymer melt (Spunbond),
Polymer blown (Meltblown),
Bonding fibrous webs with water jets (Spunlace)

Non-woven materials are an environmentally friendly product and are used in areas of medicine where sterility and protection of personnel and patients are required: gynecology, obstetrics, surgery.
The protective properties of nonwoven materials, which are obtained by coating with polymer films, are especially important for surgical purposes.

Non-woven materials are used to make both sterile disposable clothing and non-sterile clothing, as well as bed linen sets for individual use and much more.
Given their distinctive properties, as well as the lint-free fabric, products made from nonwoven materials are widely used in the manufacture of absorbent wipes and towels for hairdressing salons, sheets and wipes for removing cream for massage rooms for solariums.

Information for buyers:

SPUNBOND. Non-woven thermally bonded material - is a fabric of thermally bonded thinnest polypropylene threads. The material has good strength and is environmentally friendly. Disposable spunbond sheets are highly elastic, hypoallergenic, and water repellent.

SPANLACE. Nonwoven fabric. Composition: viscose - 70% + polyester 30%. Soft, lint-free material with high absorbency. Distinctive features are a combination of thinness and strength, high moisture absorption (it is not inferior to gauze and cotton wool in terms of its ability to absorb moisture), non-toxicity, and antistatic properties. Disposable towels, spunlace disposable wipes have a good tactile feeling, close to cotton fabrics. They allow to avoid local irritating and allergic reactions upon contact with the skin and mucous membranes.

SMS - composite materials based on spunbond are increasingly used in various sectors of the national economy. One of the latest and advanced developments in the field of nonwovens is SMS (SMS).
It consists of 100% polypropylene fibers. A distinctive feature is the presence of meltblown material between the two layers of spunbond. Meltblown is a material consisting of polypropylene fibers with a thickness of 0.01 to 0.2 dtex.
SMS has very high absorbent properties, which allows composite materials based on it not to pass through biologically active liquids, fats and chemicals. In its pure form, it is used to remove and collect oil slicks from the surface of the water. The main application, SMS found as a material for the production of disposable medical clothing. The presence of a layer of meltblown increases the antibacterial properties of SMS in comparison with the traditionally used spunbond by 7-10 times, which is very important for the protection of medical personnel.

It is also used as a filter element in protective masks. Disposable head restraints in airplanes and trains, disposable bedding sets in hotels and railway all over the world are made only from SMS.

The production of nonwoven materials is one of the most promising areas of the textile industry. Over the past 10 years, it has grown in volume by almost 3 times. Such high rates of production growth are explained by the use of cheap and quick ways obtaining textile fabrics:

  • Spandbond (from polymer melt);
  • Spunlace (fixing fibers with water jets);
  • SMS (blown polymer).

Being environmentally friendly, sterile and chemically inert products, non-woven materials are widely used in the medical industry (obstetrics, gynecology, surgery). They acquired high protective properties due to the coating with polymeric compositions, which is especially important when used under sterile conditions. Today, disposable clothing, sheets, napkins, towels, masks and much more are produced from nonwovens.

Spunbond

This non-woven thermally bonded material, consisting of the finest polypropylene threads, is the main one in the production of disposable clothing and underwear. Its advantages include bioinertness, strength and affordable cost. The most popular in Russia is spandbond based on polypropylene. Mandatory steps in its production are antistatic and bactericidal treatment.

At a density reaching 42 gr./m2, spunbond is characterized by high moisture and air permeability, ease of sewing. Spunbond can be welded, it is also possible to print on its surface. Non-toxicity and hypoallergenicity, the possibility of sterilization and a wide color palette perfectly explain its prevalence.

Spunlace

The production of the material takes place by interweaving fibers of polyester, viscose, polypropylene, cellulose with high-pressure water flows. The most popular in Russia is spunlace based on viscose. The main characteristics of the material are:

  • Elasticity,
  • Strength,
  • Ease,
  • environmental friendliness,
  • hygroscopicity,
  • volume,
  • barrier properties;
  • Lack of lint.

Distinctive characteristics of spunlace can be called the optimal ratio of thinness and strength, non-toxicity and antistatic properties. According to the degree of moisture absorption, spunlace is not inferior to cotton wool and gauze. Disposable napkins and towels made of this material are pleasant to the touch, do not cause allergic reactions and irritations. The density of spunlace used in the production of disposable medical clothing and Supplies, varies in the range of 30-80 g/m2.

SMS

SMS is a spunbond composite. For all 100% it consists of polypropylene fibers. A distinctive feature of this material is that between the 2 layers of spunbond there is a layer of meltblown. SMS is characterized by high absorbent properties, while it does not allow biologically active liquids to pass through, chemical compositions, fats. In its pure form, it is used to collect oil slicks from the surface of the water.

SMS is widely used in the production of disposable medical clothing. In comparison with the traditional spunbond, the antibacterial properties of SMS are 7-10 times higher. Also, this material perfectly copes with the role of a filter element in protective masks. It is used to make headrests in trains and planes, sets of disposable bed linen for hotels, and much more.

Spunlace is a unique material that is produced using a special technology for tightly connecting threads without adhesive additives. The composition of the canvas includes polyester and viscose fibers. The optimal proportion of these components makes it possible to obtain a chemically pure non-woven material with a lint-free structure.

Spunlace is ideal for medical applications where product convenience and safety are paramount. Obstetric, surgical, dental kits, operating and bed linen, absorbent diapers, napkins, sheets and towels, as well as special protective clothing for doctors, patients and staff are made from non-woven fabric.

The material does not attract dust, after sterilization does not lose its original properties. It can be hydrophilic or hydrophobic depending on the way the fibers are woven and the composition.

In addition to the medical field, the canvas is used in cosmetology, car services, any industry with increased requirements for cleanliness during the production process.

Material characteristic

Spunlace non-woven material, thanks to a special technology for bonding fibers with high-pressure water jets, acquires unique properties, including:

  • Hygroscopicity. Absorbs and retains moisture and liquid components well. Due to the absorbency of spunlace products, they can replace traditional cotton wool and gauze.
  • High degree of breathability. The canvas differs most high rate breathability among other non-bulk nonwovens. Perfectly passes air, provides ventilation of clothes.
  • Lint-free structure. During surgical operations, the pile is a potential threat to the patient. Particles that are constantly moving in the air are capable of carrying bacteria. This increases the risk of infection, and therefore the structure of the fibers without lint is primarily a guarantee of safety.
  • Hypoallergenic. Upon contact with the skin and mucous membranes, the non-woven material does not cause allergic reactions.
  • Strength and elasticity. Spunlace is a thin, but durable, tear-resistant fabric. The longitudinal interlacing of the fibers gives it elasticity, the transverse - additional strength.

In 2014, our company made a huge leap in its development - in Germany it was purchased and launched latest equipment TRUTZSCHLER company for the production of non-woven fabric spunlace .

This nonwoven material is obtained by interlacing the fibers of the canvas with high pressure water jets. advantage this method is the absence of adhesive chemicals, which ensures a high environmental friendliness of the process. The resulting soft, lint-free material is highly absorbent and is most suitable for use in the manufacture of wet wipes and in many areas of cosmetology, as well as medicine.

Our equipment, thanks to advanced carding and hydroweaving technologies, allows us to achieve a high degree of web uniformity and stable linear density.

Production of non-woven fabric

Dupont De Nemours

Brand: Sontara (Softesse)

Dupont was the first to invent the technology for the production of nonwoven fabric in a hydrojet process and therefore has its own technology for the production of Sontara® spunlace. The main difference between Sontara and all other spunlace fabrics lies in the composition: Dupont spunlace is made on the basis of cellulose and polyester, as a rule, in a ratio of 55:45 (while the vast majority of similar materials are made entirely on the basis of synthetics). Due to cellulose, the material has greater strength, a higher level of absorbency

Although, of course, Dupont also offers rayon/polyester and 100% polyester spunlace. Sontara materials have improved consumer characteristics:

Improved barrier qualities against bacteria and liquids;
. lint-free;
. exceptional softness and comfort of wearing (in the case of clothing based on it) - the material breathes;
. high resistance to chemicals;
. high strength;
. high absorbency;
. drape.

Initially, there were no analogues to this material, but now Chinese-made canvases called "pulp" or "wood-pulp" appear on the market. Chinese manufacturers position their material as an "analogue of Sontara".

Around the world, Sontara nonwovens are used in the following areas:

1. wiping/polishing materials
. aircraft industry;
. Automotive industry;
. food industry;
. household products;
. printing industry.

2. medical devices
. surgical clothes and underwear;
. dressing materials.

3. automotive
. upholstery/lining fabrics;
. covering cloths.

In Russia, the material has become widespread only in the market of disposable clothing and underwear, since there is no production of wiping products for household and industrial use in our country. It should be noted that since 2005, spunlace produced by Dupont for medical devices was renamed to the new Softesse brand, while the cloths under the Sontara brand are intended specifically for technical wiping materials. Sontara's cleaning/polishing wipes and cloths are world leaders.

Novita

Brand: Novitex

Novita is a fairly well-known company in the European market - a supplier of needle-punched materials. Initially, the Polish company started its activity as a manufacturer of non-woven fabrics for technical purposes. Recently, Novita has established a capacity for the production of nonwovens using hydrojet technology. A new type of nonwovens is marketed under the Novitex brand. Novita offers spunlace in various compositions:

. Based on 100% viscose;
. Based on 100% polyester;
. Based on viscose and polyester.

Mixed materials:

. 70% viscose / 30% polyester (the most popular material on Russian market);
. 50% viscose / 50% polyester.

It is also possible to produce spunlace using polypropylene, polyamide, polyethylene fibers, as well as based on microfibers (microfiber). Novita produces nonwovens in different densities - from 30 g/m2 up to 300 g/m2. Polish-made material has high strength (wear resistance), excellent absorbency, resistance to oils, solvents, detergents. All this allows you to use spunlace both at home and in industrial enterprises.
