Beautiful do-it-yourself bird feeder. How to make a bird feeder with your own hands: original and unusual ideas. Hanging bird food

Sadly, but on average, out of 10 birds, only two manage to survive the winter and meet the spring with their cheerful singing. The rest die from hunger and cold, since the lack of food reduces the ability of birds to fight frost. However, it is important to feed the birds not only in winter, but at any other time of the year, especially if you do it in your garden or summer cottage. The fact is that our feathered brothers effectively fight against midges and insects, thereby protecting the crop from pests. In addition, a do-it-yourself bird feeder will allow you to show your imagination and decorate the site with an exclusive accessory. And how interesting it is to do this with the children!

Choosing a material and a suitable place for the trough

Many associate the bird feeder with a wooden birdhouse that resembles a miniature house. This shape is ideal for organizing the bird feeding area:

  • firstly, the birdhouse has a roof that protects food from rain and wind;
  • secondly, a wooden feeder, as a rule, is strong and reliable;
  • thirdly, a birdhouse made of wood harmoniously fits into any landscape.

However, you should not limit your imagination, because the bird feeder can be embodied in almost any form, the main thing is that it meets the following criteria:

  • reliability and durability. When choosing material and fasteners for the feeder, keep in mind that they must withstand the weight of feathered guests;
  • material durability. To make the feeder delight the birds and you for a long time, make it from materials that do not deform from precipitation. Of course, a small birdhouse can be made from cardboard or grocery packages, but keep in mind that such a feeder will last until the first rain or snowfall, then it will have to be replaced;
  • security. When making bird houses, you will have to cut out the entrance, windows and other holes in them. So that guests arriving for a meal do not hurt themselves on the edges of the product, treat them with protective materials - electrical tape, polymer clay, resin, etc.

In addition, it is very important that feeders and birdhouses are located in places that are convenient for the birds. You do not need to place them in the thick of branches, in a highly ventilated area, as well as in places where cats can reach. Hang the nesting box in an open and visible area to attract the birds' attention.

Examples of beautiful DIY birdhouses

And now the most interesting thing is a selection of beautiful bird feeders, which are not so difficult to make with your own hands.

Wooden house

You don't have to be a carpenter to build a birdhouse out of wood. You can make a wooden bird house from planks, beams, small logs or even wine corks, the main thing is to securely fasten all the elements and install them on a solid foundation. To make it convenient for the birds to eat, take care of the wide entrance.

Alternatively, a wooden feeder can be made from an old one. To do this, you need to cut and peel its core, as well as come up with a solid suspension. Such feeders are often used for poultry, for example, in chicken coops.

Bottle feeder

Bird feeder from plastic bottle even a child can do it. To create it, you just need to cut a wide entrance into the container, process its edges and choose a suitable suspension. However, in order for the plastic feeder not only to serve as a dining room for birds, but also to decorate your garden, complement it with bright drawings, inscriptions and decorations.

You can glue the bottle with a rope, wrapping it very tightly, and decorate natural materials- tree bark, dry leaves, rowan, etc.

You can also make a feeder with an automatic feed from an ordinary plastic bottle. To do this, cut paired holes on both sides of the container and insert wide wooden spoons into them. If the bottle is filled to the top with food, the grains will spill out into a spoon in small portions. And the bird will sit comfortably on it.

A similar feeder can also be made by using a hollow tunnel product instead of spoons. Food containers can also be used in place of the bottle.

Feeder from old dishes

A dish feeder is unlikely to teach your feathered guests to table etiquette, but it will certainly become an original decoration of the garden. Glue the cup to the saucer with super glue, pick up a secure suspension (chain, rope, wire) and place the resulting feeder, for example, on a tree branch.

If you want to make a structure that will simultaneously be both a feeder and a drinker for birds, make a hanging product using a cup, saucer and a deep plate, fastening them with strong decorative chains.

Such feeders look very nice in which the cup is turned over on the "side". In this case, you also need to glue it.

A ceramic teapot can also be used as a feeder, the opening of which will become an entrance for birds. The teapot must be turned to the position on its side, a hole for a rope or wire must be made on the side wall, as well as on the lid, and the structure must be suspended in the way shown in the photo.

Right at your site, you can make such an original feeder, in which saucers with cups are attached to the legs from the old table, and the legs themselves are in a bucket of sand. It would seem simple, but at the same time original and not like everyone else's.

Here's another cool bird feeder idea that you can make from a saucer by attaching a roof to it. And there can be a lot of such ideas using old dishes.

Feeder from a saucer with a roof photo

A very beautiful feeder will turn out from an old wine bottle turned upside down. You just need to choose the right holder for it. But such a feeder will fit only for small feed, but if the grains are larger, it is better to use a glass bottle with a wide neck, for example, from under dairy products or juices.

Pumpkin feeders

From a round pumpkin, you can make not only vases, as we said earlier in, autumn decor and decorations for Halloween, but also bird feeders. It is enough to cut a through hole in the pumpkin, peel it of seeds and hang it by a rope to a branch.

Mesh feeders

A simple and original bird feeder can be made from a net that is used in supermarkets for packing fruits and vegetables. To do this, you just need to fill the net with food, tie it tightly in a knot and hang it in any suitable place. From such a feeder, birds will freely get grains, crumbs, porridge, and even the strongest wind will not be able to scatter them. If you are decorating the site for the holiday, the food net can be an element or any other accessory. In fact, these are disposable feeders, and when they run out of food, you just need to make new nodules. By the way, such nodules are more often filled with ready-made porridge for birds than with dry food.

Exactly the same principle can be used to make a feeder from a metal mesh. It is best to use a flexible material, since in this case it will not be difficult to give it any shape.

Hanging bird food

If you want to make life easier for birds, but at the same time you have absolutely no time to build a birdhouse, you should not give up your good purpose. Now on sale you can find hanging compressed bird food, which is very convenient as a homemade bird feeder. Since this food is intended for parrots and other caged birds, it has a comfortable suspension from the outset. If there is no harness on the stern, you can make it with strong thread or thin wire. This food is often made in a variety of intricate figures, so it will become another decoration for your garden for a while (until it is eaten). In principle, you can make such food yourself, there are a lot of master classes with step by step photos and detailed instructions.

Make sure that your do-it-yourself bird feeder is always filled with grains, bread crumbs and other feathered treats. Very soon, this accessory will bring many guests to your courtyard, who will thank you with lively singing and the absence of annoying insects.

How to make a bird feeder

Bird feeders are a great topic for both bird lovers and inventors of small architectural forms. How to make simple or fancy feeder from cardboard boxes, from plastic bottles, from cans, from a wooden block or bucket from mayonnaise, as well as from packaging for a cake and everything else, what to feed the tits and what the sparrows eat, see and read, - ideas fly in the air and land on this page.

1.Cut the bottle with a hot knife in two places along the basting. What width of the strip to cut, see for yourself, there are no exact measurements.

Cut along the outline

2. See the picture below. Cut out a wider strip, get a squat figure, cut out less - the product will be higher.

The height of the trough depends on the height of the cut piece

3. At the bottom of the bottle, cut a hole for the birds to plant, as shown in the photo. Do not forget to walk along the edge of the window with a red-hot knife so as to melt the cut and make it not sharp. The bird will sit on the edge of the window with its paws and should not cut itself.

To prevent the birds from cutting their legs

Paint the bottom of the bottle with acrylic paint.
4. When the paint is dry, make two holes with a hole punch (or hot nail) in the bottom of the bottle, on either side of the feeder entrance at the same distance.

A hole punch makes holes neater than a nail

5.Symmetric holes must be made in the upper part of the bottle, twine will be threaded into these holes, with the help of which the upper and lower parts of the bottle will be connected and this beauty will be suspended.

Connect the lower and upper parts of the structure with twine

6. Color the top of the bottle and the cork, don't forget. Let dry.
7. The twine will be threaded according to the following pattern:

Twine connects the top and bottom of the trough, and the knots are pulled up through the hole in the cork

8 Make a hole in the cork, take the knots and pull the two ends of the twine by the knots through the hole in the cork.

Thread the twine through the hole in the cork

9Decorative detail. Make additional holes, as shown in the photo, on the bottom and top of the bottle and fasten the parts with decorative rivets. This will additionally hold the details together and give the look of a "branded item".

Minion feeder

From cardboard boxes.

Any cardboard box with a hole cut out, suspended and filled with food is a feeder. For example, a box from Rafaelo or boxes from New Year's gifts for children, which accumulate in every home in abundance after the New Year.
We use milk cartons, paint and decorate with buttons and twigs. We glue with a glue gun with silicone glue. (I bought myself a glue gun in hardware store, it was 3 times cheaper than in the handicraft).

By the way, if there is no balcony, but only a window, then the cardboard device will come in handy, it will not break the window when you lower it out of the window onto the windowsill. I'm only afraid the neighbors in this house are not happy to feed the pigeons so close to the cars. It would be necessary to make the hole in the box small, then the pigeons would not be able to feed on the windowsill, but the tits would scurry back and forth and delight the child and the kitten with their bustle. And so in fact boring to look at the butt of a pigeon sticking out of the box.

The girl hangs the feeder outside the window (So much effort, but only the butt of the pigeon is visible).

Two options for one technology:

How and where to place top dressing.

This is actually an important question. After all, we live among people and our interests or the interests of our feathered friends should not conflict with the interests of the people around us.
If the droppings of birds that we weld to our window or balcony regularly fall on the lower balconies or on the cars of our neighbors, expect trouble. Do we need it?
The solution to this problem is simple. There are a few things to know.
1 Feed pigeons only on the ground, away from parking lots, balconies and window sills, so that pigeon droppings do not harm us and our neighbors.
2 Sparrows, unlike tits, do not fly away immediately, as soon as they take food, they sit in the same place where there is food and poop in the same place and throw the husks from seeds in the same place. Such a fellow sits on the edge of a bottle or perch, takes seeds, pecks and throws the husks back into the seeds or next to them. Spit, brat, all around. Tits are afraid of him and are waiting, sitting on the branches next to him, when he is full. Therefore, the container with seeds must be hung away from the wall of the house,

1. Here, at least as my neighbors did, look at the video.

It is the Yurok who has settled down, they spend the winter with us. These birds are like sparrows, they sit until they are full and try not to let the tits go, and the titmouses fly up, they take the seed and on the branch - peck a grain out of the seed.
2.Or place inside the balcony so you can clean up after your guests.

What do tits eat

Unfried sunflower seeds, unsalted bacon, fat, nuts (chopped, with soft pulp, such as walnuts) and an exotic option, a sawn coconut suspended from a string, are suitable for feeding tits.

What should not be given to birds
Do not give salted lard, fried seeds, smoked meats, rye bread.
Titmouses will not eat buckwheat, millet, or rice.
But the sparrows will eat millet and crushed grains and raisins.

By the way, berries of wild grapes () on your balcony will also attract birds. An alpine jackdaw arrives at us, see the video at the end of the article.

Lard can simply be hung on a thread or cut into pieces and put in a vegetable net, I made such a structure on my feeder, which is also a viewing platform for my cats in the summer.

With the arrival of cold weather, snow and frost, conscious nature lovers hang bird feeders near the tree house (or near the window of the apartment). These simple adaptations will not only delight children and the elderly, they will help many birds to spend the winter. How to make feeders and from what improvised means, we will tell in this article.

Variety of feeders

Human fantasy is limitless. And having looked at what and from what people come up with bird feeders, this fact is beyond doubt. After analyzing the main materials, you can divide the devices for feeding birds into the following groups:

  • from glass containers;
  • from grids;
  • from iron cans;
  • from old dishes;
  • from plastic containers;
  • wooden;
  • from fruits;
  • all kinds of garlands.

Having examined each group in detail, you can definitely find exactly the one, the feeder, which will go in all respects. And most importantly, you will want to make it and hang it near your house.

Glass container feeders

For this, cans with a volume of 1L to 2L are suitable. Put a plastic cap on the neck and cut a hole in it. Pour the food inside. Hang horizontally. The advantages of such a feeder:

  • snow does not fall;
  • the wind does not blow;
  • large birds (crows, magpies) will not be able to take food from small birds.
  • Long service life.

There are also more original cans feeders. You can see them in the photo.

But there are also glass bottle feeders. They need to be fastened down with the neck, substituting a saucer at the bottom into which the food will be poured.

Alternatively, you can drill or cut a hole in the bottle into which the bird will fly to get food. In this case, do not forget about the bird's footboard.

Mesh fixtures

You can feed the birds in a more primitive way, the main thing is that the birds are well fed. Mesh from polymer material, with small holes, you need to fasten it so that you get a bag into which food is poured and hung on a string near a window or on a tree. The advantage is the simplicity and speed of manufacture.

For those for whom this method is too simple, there are more original and beautiful feeders made of nets, but their production will take longer:

  • You need to take a garden plastic mesh with small holes.
  • Twist the cylinder out of it and fix it in this position.
  • Take two trays from the flower pots and secure them at the top and bottom of the cylinder.
  • After attaching the lower saucer, pour the food inside.
  • In the upper saucer (or along the edges of the net), make fasteners to hang the feeder on the branch.

Iron can feeders

In this case, there are two product options:

  • Vertical feeder: small incisions are made in the walls of the jar so that the birds can peck food. Be sure to make footrests at the bottom base. The top should be closed.

  • Horizontal feeder. You need to attach a footboard to the hole into which the birds will fly in for food. Decorating the jar itself is at your own discretion.

The advantage of such feeders: the relative speed of production, long term service, not afraid of blows.

Old dishes like bird feeders

Old ceramic dishes will be suitable for creating an original feeder that will not only saturate the birds, but also decorate the gloomy cold landscape. This is the main plus of these feeders. After all, the process of their manufacture will require some skill: to make holes for fasteners without destroying the product.

Plastic feeders

Suitable for feeders:

  • eggplants from 3L to 6L;
  • bottles from 1L to 2L;
  • cans from 1 to 35 liters;
  • containers with lids;
  • not large buckets.

How to adapt them for feeders is a matter of imagination. The main models of such bird tables are shown in the photo.

The advantages of plastic feeders are:

  • ease of manufacture;
  • long service life;
  • not afraid of shocks and temperature changes;
  • low cost of raw materials.

The main thing is to take into account that thin plastic from bottles and eggplants, when cut, becomes sharp. And it can damage the thin legs of birds. Therefore, the part of the cut where the birds will sit should either be melted over a fire, or rubber tubes should be put on.

Wooden feeders

  • a solid cut of the trunk (chocks);
  • from boards;
  • from branches or sticks;
  • from plywood or other wood sheet.

It is recommended to make feeders with a roof to protect against direct ingress of snow and rain into the feed. Wood products are always eye-catching, as they show the craftsmanship and dexterity of the master. Therefore, the advantage of this type of feeders is not only the environmental friendliness of raw materials, but also an attractive appearance.

Plant Fruit Feeders

Original feeders are made from:

  • pumpkins;
  • coconut shells;
  • orange peel.

Having cut the fruit and stretching out the pulp, you can safely fill in the food, cling to a rope or wire, and hang it on a branch. Original, beautiful and simple.

The bird feeder will not seem difficult to make if you use our photos and add your original ideas. All our products are from 2004. Many copies have been walking around the Internet for a long time. Now you can see all the photos on our website.

1. Photo of a series of bird feeders "Edge"

Initially, we had a firm intention to make only from wood. Gluing the board seemed like a long and costly process. It was decided to use furniture boards. Joining the roof with lamellas, calculating angles and not joining at the seams, the need to fill in the gaps, made bird feeders very expensive to manufacture.

It was first covered with oil from mold, then with primer, then two layers of enamel. Original and beautiful, but! This quality was maintained for a maximum of a year. Enamel is not elastic and cracks when the material expands. Outdoors, the feeder absorbs moisture and dries in the sun. Dirt and water get into cracks. paint rolls up like on an old window. One idea was not enough.

Bird feeder "Edge" (big photo). We are producing at the moment. We cover it only with glazing or opaque antiseptics (acrylate-based paint with an antiseptic effect). Furniture panels were falling apart, the bottom and roofs were arching. Now we make large surfaces from waterproof plywood. Does not bend, does not crack. Lighter construction and more durable. Once every three years, it is worth treating with an antiseptic or oil. The sample has been standing for 13 years. The bird feeders in the photo above are made on poles and dug into the ground. On the Pole, 2 meters long, the trough collapsed. It was necessary to tamp with stones in the pit. The idea was bad. Refused in favor of the original tripod.

2. Photo of hanging bird feeders.

"Briefcase". It will not sag for a long time from the array. Will burst. It is better to embody the idea from plywood. A lot of photos of the "portfolio" are licked up on the Internet. But with such holes, without additional reinforcement, a feeder for one season. Bird feeder "Pot" - medium photo. An original idea, but heavy and bursting. You cannot make walls with cutouts in the pattern. This has already been discussed. And this makes the structure massive and ugly. Idea rejected! Next is the "Winter Garden" bird feeder. We still do it. Timeless design. The coating lasts up to 10 years. This feeder is copied by everyone. Use the idea itself! Complete on your own. It honestly makes your piece unique and develops the imagination.

Feeder "Balls", Inside the swing, on which birds rest from gluttony. Great idea... Lightweight and reliable. There are many elements and therefore it turned out to be expensive to manufacture. It should be simplified and into the series!
With the leaves, in the middle photo, you can do it yourself. Do-it-yourself bird feeder "Garden". Very simple and unusual.
Next "Cheese"! The wood version did not take root. Bursting and heavy.

A new version with a mouse is now on sale. Click on the big photo to go. Reliable and durable feeder, covered with a water-based acrylate antiseptic coating. In theory, only chickens eat millet. But we always ate it. There is a suspicion that these are not birds, but mice.

Bird feeder "Picnic" on the left, first version. In the second photo, the roof is more interesting. The idea was suggested by the buyer. Thanks to him! It looks much more interesting. You can make a "Picnic" with your own hands. Further "Yabloko". See the photo of making Yabloko feeders with your own hands.

"Lantern"! Very difficult. Birds are not worthy of that. Everything about it is original. It's scary to remember how long and tedious it is. A stackable roof takes a lot of time. You can do it for yourself, but once. The "Cage" feeder, in the middle photo, clearly did not work out. Very massive. Starting with this design, we stopped making pendant products from solid wood. On the right is the Glinka bird feeder. Why was it so originally named? Clay shards and tablets! The weight was not small. We liked the feeder, but did not bring it to mind. Maybe an idea is useful to you?

"The flower house, in the photo on the left, above, looks great, but the idea to make it without an internal roof turned out to be not original. The snow and rain forced to change the design. I had to launch the next version. It has been on sale for 7 years already. Reliable enough. Covered with a covering antiseptic. on an acrylate basis. Can be washed with detergents. Next, the first bird feeder in oriental style. Was criticized by buyers for the lack of sides. We agreed, and as a result, it was transformed into a bird feeder "Vostochnaya" (large photo). Click in the photo to go to the product page.

This feeder was hung in the botanical garden on bird day. Photos and information can be viewed on the Facebook page "Botanical Garden of Moscow State University" Apothecary Garden "

An excellent series for kindergartens and primary schools. Links on how to make do-it-yourself bird feeders "Piglet" and "Little House". We will also publish a horse that looks like a turtle in the do-it-yourself bird feeder section. Children assure that this is a horse!

"Heart", pictured on the left, is very heavy. And in terms of weight and manufacturing. Attempts to implement an original idea often end in laughter. But we have a lot of trees and ideas. Therefore, we made two feeders in the crisis year. They were excellent gifts. Euro birds look good!

We have been making "Cloud" for 10 years already. Very light and original. "Spring" in the middle photo, unsuccessful roof fixing. We do not produce it temporarily, but let's start. We really like her. The "pavilion" in the initial version was confused. But it has transformed into a popular bird feeder in the big photo.

3. Original ideas for wall-mounted bird feeders.

It often happens that you need to attach the feeder to the house or fence. Hanging options require hooks. And the wall ones are already provided for such an attachment.

"Lukomorye". Very nice, but the roof is unfortunately not reliable. At first it was done as a theater. Made from furniture boards. They cracked and the theater was closed. The idea was rejected. "Telephone" One of the most popular feeders - long-livers. We started doing it a long time ago, we still do it and are still intact. "The Nest" was not serialized. Wise with the elements.

Very original trough "Gazebo". Big photo... Reliable, comfortable, beautiful. The birds both ate and drank. There were problems with the bocats. Temporarily removed from production. So it is waiting for us to return to it. Made with a green and brown roof. Have not decided which color is more original?

"Birdhouse". Left in the photo. There are a lot of copies on the Internet. It's good! So I like it! New Year's lantern of the same name. And a feeder that you can make yourself. Photos and drawings of ideas here do-it-yourself bird feeders "Fruit". We hung a peach and a pear. In winter, the birds liked everything.

"Tavern". An original, exclusive version. Ideal for a gift. The roof is covered with an antiseptic rubber compound. Triple varnished. It's a pity to let the birds go! But it can be washed very easily.

Making a bird feeder yourself is not difficult. In winter, birds are in great danger, they need to be fed.

It is for this that humans create feeders and help the birds survive this cold season.

Feeders are created for any materials that are in any home. They do not require financial investments or special knowledge, but only a good attitude to the surrounding nature.

General rules for creating feeders:

  • convenience;
  • moisture resistance;
  • safety (exclude stabbing corners);
  • walls and corners should not be sharp and prickly;
  • mount not lower than 1.5 m above the ground.

Plywood as a material for a feeder

Drawings can be made independently, or can be found on the Internet. When choosing or creating a drawing, take into account the peculiarities of the plates.

If you plan to feed small birds, plan a small opening so that big birds did not compete with them.

Prepare: plywood, hammer and nails, glue, jigsaw (electric), timber (about 20 x 20 cm) and sandpaper.

  • Step 1 Mark out the plywood and cut out the parts with a jigsaw. Make the square on the bottom and on the roof 5 cm larger (25x25 cm).

  • Step 2 Sand the workpieces.

  • Step 3 Cut out the racks from the bar (up to 30 cm).

  • Step 4 Connect the parts with nails (or glue), attach the racks to the bottom, attach the sides to the racks.

  • Step 5 The roof is attached with self-tapping screws.

Wooden feeder

A reliable and solid material for any craft is wood.

Prepare:

  • for racks a bar (4.5 by 2 cm);
  • for the bottom plywood (square 25 by 25 cm);
  • plywood for the roof (35 to 22 - two pieces);
  • glue, screws, nails.

Step 1 The base of the frame is to assemble the bottom with the sides. Cut pieces of timber to the size of the bottom and connect. Glue the ends with glue and tighten with self-tapping screws. The sides (two parallel) are recommended to be made 5 cm longer than the bottom.

Step 2 Nail the bottom to the base frame with nails.

Step 3 Screw the racks (from 18 to 20 cm) to the inside of the box.

Step 4 Attach two bars at a right angle. Fix the joints with another bar. You need to make two parts in the form of a right angle.

Step 5 Attach the rafters to the uprights with the rafters and nail the pieces of wood for the roof to them.

Step 6 Glue sticks-perches to the sides (elongated).

Feeder made from a milk bag

This type of "bird house" is often done in kindergartens and primary schools... Prepare: milk / juice carton, scissors, wire, marker and adhesive tape.

  • Step 1 Cut holes on two opposite sides of the box.
  • Step 2 Glue the edges of the "windows" with a plaster.
  • Step 3 Poke a hole under the windows and insert a cardboard tube (from the cut holes).
  • Step 4 Make holes for the wire in the folded corners.

Plastic bottle feeder

  • Step 1 Cut out holes on both sides of the bottle (leave jumpers between them).
  • Step 2 Stick the plaster on the sides.
  • Step 3 Make holes at the bottom for the roost stick.

Feeder from a five-liter plastic bottle

This type of feeder contains a lot of food, which is very convenient for feeding birds in winter. It is convenient for them to eat inside such a roomy product. To create, you can involve the whole family. Prepare: bottles, knife (or stationery knife).

  • Step 1 Cut the hole vertically or horizontally, depending on the mounting method.
  • Step 2 If the holes are made horizontally, then you need to make two holes on the side (with a knife), and pass the twine through them (to tie).
  • Step 3 Place a small stone on the bottom on the bottom to avoid falling during strong winds.

Feeder out of the box

You can create a feeder from almost any cardboard box. It is better to choose thick and laminated cardboard so that it lasts longer in winter damp conditions.

It is easy to make this feeder because it already has the desired shape, walls, bottom and roof. You just need to cut the holes. Prepare: scotch tape, knife and nylon lace.

  • Step 1 Wrap tape around the box.
  • Step 2 Cut the side holes.
  • Step 3 Fasten the lanyard.
  • Step 4 Put pebbles on the bottom.

There is an alternative to this design. The lid can be glued perpendicularly so that it is exactly the food support.

Then the side and the roof will be from the second part of the box.

This product must also be carefully glued with tape. Next, you need to make two small wire hooks and lay on the "ceiling" (twist and bend). The hooks need to be connected together, and now it can be hung on a branch.
