One more generally accepted rule- do not buy goods at the entrance, prices there are usually higher than in the depths of the market.

Characteristic for Thailand was the emergence of special types of markets: night and floating. They are called night markets because it is usually very hot during the day, and since the markets are mostly outdoors and you can’t put air conditioning on the street, the time after sunset becomes the most convenient for the seller and buyer. That is, such markets operate from about 17.00 to 23.00. At night, despite the name, they do not work. Floating markets appeared due to. During the rainy season, rivers flood, but trade continues thanks to water transport.

Today, the floating and night markets in Pattaya are mostly adapted for tourists and serve not only as a place where you can buy goods, but also as a kind of additional entertainment or. In addition, in almost all markets you can eat tasty and cheap.

Teprazit has a significant place among the largest night markets of the resort. It will receive its name in honor of the street on which its stalls are spread. The range of products offered here is simply huge, and even the prices can pleasantly surprise you.

Absolutely everything is sold on Teprazit, from small souvenirs and clothes to food and all kinds of animals. Here you can buy great gifts for your relatives and friends. And if you don’t know what to give as a gift, then check out my article,.

Special attention it is worth giving ready-made Thai food. Thepprasit market is just the place where you can taste real national delicacies. Just imagine, you only need to pay 10 baht for chicken or sausages on skewers, and a whole fried fish will cost you a maximum of 100 baht.

The Teprazit market is open only three times a week - from Friday to Sunday. Traders begin to open their tents at 5 pm, and close closer to midnight.

Market Pattaya Night Bazaar

If you are planning to buy all kinds of Thai clothes, then without hesitation you should visit the largest clothing market in the city - Pattaya Night Bazaar. Finding it is very easy, as it is located a few steps from the Central beach of the resort. The pricing policy here is certainly not the lowest, but the range of products offered is simply huge.

To a greater extent, the market is visited by tourists, so prices can be a little high. But it is worth noting that no one forbids bargaining in the markets. This skill will help you to reduce the initial cost of goods a little. Pattaya Night Bazaar offers its visitors not only Thai knitwear, but also all sorts of exotic leather goods. And if necessary, you can even sew the necessary thing to order here.

The market is open all day, from 9 am to 11 pm.

Jomtien night market

Like many other night markets in Pattaya, Jomtien Night market operates exclusively in the evening. The first merchants leave at 5 pm. If you want to see the Thai market in full readiness, then it is better to come here no earlier than 6-7 hours. But the last tents are closed closer to 23:00, when everyone disperses to local bars and restaurants.

The Jomtien market is divided into two parts - clothing and one where you can buy a variety of Thai goodies, including fresh fruits. Food prices start from 10 baht, but a dinner for two can cost you no more than 120-150 baht and at the same time everyone will remain full.

The market in Jomtien is mainly visited by those who live or vacation here. That is why on its territory you can often see inscriptions made in Russian. Jomtien Night market is located at the very beginning of Jomtien Street, not far from the beach volleyball court.

Naklua Sunday Market

The Naklua market is located in the northern part of Pattaya and is not very popular among tourists. That is why prices here are much lower than, for example, in the most central areas of the resort. And fruits in the Naklua Sunday Market can generally be purchased for ridiculous money. The market also sells all kinds of clothes, shoes, cosmetics, souvenirs, animals and more.

Particular attention should be paid to tents that sell wonderful fakes of world brands. Moreover, it can be both leather products and Wrist Watch. And those who get hungry can taste all sorts of Thai delicacies. Naklua Sunday Market is located near the fish market on Sauang Pha Road. He works only one day a week - on Sunday throughout the day.

Soi Buakhao Market

Soi Buakhao market is very easy to find, as it is located on the street of the same name. This is a favorite place among both the Thai population and tourists. After all, where, if not in the markets, you can buy a lot of all sorts of goods, and even for next to nothing.

Geographically, Soi Buakhao Market is divided into two parts. The first is dedicated to things, shoes, souvenirs. The average price tag that merchants put up is 100 baht. But if you want, you can always try to lower the price. In addition, there are many stalls that sell cheap secondhand.

The second part is fresh fruits and ready-made Thai food. This is the place where you can eat from the heart and at the same time practically not spend money. The market operates in full force only twice a week - on Tuesday and Friday from early morning until 23:00.

floating market

One of the most interesting and exotic markets of the resort is Pattaya Floating Market, due to the fact that all trade here is carried out on the water. It started its activities in 2008 and in just a few years began to occupy an area of 100 thousand m 2.

The peculiarity of the market is that you can move around its shopping malls both on foot and on a special boat. Getting here, guests can plunge from head to toe into the real atmosphere of Thai life, feel their culture, traditions and way of life. But do not think that if the market is floating, then there is no civilization here. On its territory there are ATMs, a 4D cinema, as well as numerous schemes by which you can navigate so as not to get lost. The range of products offered is in no way inferior to the standard markets of Thailand. Here you can dress up and eat delicious food.

Pattaya Floating Market is open from early morning until 21:00. And it is located at the entrance to Pattaya, right along the Sukhumvit highway.

Naklua fish market

Naklua Fish Market is a real paradise for those who are a fan of seafood. Here, this good is sold at every step, and even for little money. Every day, starting at 5 am, local fishermen bring their catch and put it up for sale. Despite the fact that Nakua fish market is open until 17:00, it is better to visit it in the morning, because it is then that the range of products offered is really huge, and you can also be sure of the quality and freshness of the goods.

If you do not know where you can cook the purchased delicacy, then local cafes and restaurants can come to your aid here. On request, they can make you a delicious dish, taking into account all your preferences, and they charge a minimum fee for this.

The market is located near the central beach, right along Naklua Street.

fruit market

A small fruit market consists of several dozen stalls offering its guests a wide variety. Almost all of its visitors are tourists. This means that the pricing policy here will be slightly overstated.

Walking through the rows, you will not find fixed price tags anywhere. The fact is that sellers name the price, judging by appearance buyers. The brighter your tan, the longer you stay here, and therefore, you better understand prices. But light-skinned tourists can buy the same product at an order of magnitude more expensive. In any case, you need to bargain in the market, but always with a smile, the Thais love it.

The fruit market is located very close to the Mike Shopping Mall, not far from Beach Street. He works from 9 am until late at night.

Tapong fruit market

The Tapong fruit market is famous for its annual festivals that take place here from May to June. It is, of course, not as big as most of the city's markets, but it can also please its guests with a huge variety of fresh fruits. And you can buy them here both as a whole and sliced.

Tapong fruit market is located within the office of Or Bor Tor and TAT.

Ratanakorn Market

Another great place to save some money is Ratanakorn Market. And this is no coincidence, because for the same goods that are sold on the streets of Pattaya, here you can pay 20-30%, and sometimes even 50% less.

The territory of the market includes an area where things and souvenirs are sold, as well as a separate covered part with food and fresh fruit. Not far from it there are many traditional Thai bars and restaurants that open after 16:00. Since Ratanakorn Market is open from morning until evening, you can combine business with pleasure. The market is located on Teprazit Street.

We have reviewed the most popular markets resort of Pattaya. Knowing where they are located and what they specialize in, you can always find the right product for yourself. Do not forget that you can bargain in any market, this is welcome.

Night market Pattaya Park in the Pratamnak area is considered the same tourism market, like the market in Jomtien with a windmill. Here you can buy fruits, clothes, souvenirs, as well as a full and inexpensive meal. But unlike Jomtien, we almost never visit the Pratumnak market, although we live next to it.

This is how the Russian market in Pattaya meets tourists in Russian

Pratamnak night market. Plenty of empty tables that fill up in the evening

For some reason, we personally did not like this market. We come here occasionally to buy something from fruits, nothing more. Why we do not buy anything on it will tell right now.

Features of Pattaya Park Market

In all cities of Thailand, we visit local Thai markets of this type. Night markets usually always sell ready-made food, all sorts of kebabs, shrimp, soups. In general, you can eat delicious food. In the Pratamnak market, the situation is different:

  • No holiday and fun
  • If music is playing, then it must be Russian
  • Much less choice of Thai food than other markets. For example, Slava has never found ordinary Thai skewers there for 10-20 baht. And even chicken in batter, which are sold by Muslim women, can never be found here. Only huge kebabs on skewers, like in Russia. By the way, our friends, who once came to visit us very hungry, liked the barbecue.

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - KiwiTaxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience in this article.

And the main disadvantage that I would attribute to this market is the stale type of dishes. In any case, we thought so.

Having settled in the Pratumnak area, at first we walked, looked at the market, then went in once, a second, a third, a fourth, and each time we left empty-handed. From those meat dishes what Slava eats, he could buy ribs. But they are always kind of leeward, or something.

It’s not even about disgust, but about the fact that it’s somehow not easy to buy winded meat, which most likely has been lying here since yesterday or the day before yesterday. Yes, and why do this when there are so many cool markets in Pattaya with mouth-watering and freshest dishes.

I suspect that in the Pratamnak market, this situation is probably only in the low season. Maybe the sellers don’t sell food on the first day, they post yesterday’s food. Or maybe all these cutlets and cabbage rolls are prepared according to a special recipe. Shrimps and seafood seem to be normal.

We sometimes buy fruits here. They are no different. Because they don't need to be cooked.

Some tourists here eat at tables. But in this market there are much fewer of them than in other markets in Pattaya. The night market in Jomtien, for example, is full of people even in the low season.

conclusions

The market will be useful to you if you are staying at and you are not lovers of Thai cuisine. Come here for lunch or dinner, here you can eat a little cheaper than in Russian restaurants on the same street. Buy fruit, prices are the same as other places. There are baskets for transporting fruits on the plane.

It's the beginning of November now. While Teprazitta is not overcrowded, Pratumnak market rarely has a line at the stalls and, in principle, an abundance of people. There are always free tables. So, if you also don’t like this market, like us, we gave you a tip where to go (along the embankment 30 minutes on the left side to Jomtien).

Let me know in the comments if you've been to this market how do you like this place? Did you eat here? And which Pattaya market do you like best?

Market Pattaya Park on the map

Pratamnak Market is located on Tapraya Russian Street 12 near Pattaya Park Hotel. Coordinates: 12.909386, 100.863887

This market is the most famous and popular among tourists in Pattaya. Here you can buy anything and very inexpensively: peeled and chopped fruits, Thai food, souvenirs, clothes and shoes (including for children), jeans, T-shirts, dresses, shorts, toys, phones and accessories for them, cosmetics, products leather, wallets, discs, inexpensive jewelry, bags, perfumes, belts, watches (there are fakes for well-known brands) and much more.

Ready meals at the Night Market are also very diverse, ranging from chicken skewers for 10 baht to whole fried fish for 100 baht. Variety of juices and sweets available. In addition, you can try several dozen Thai dishes and soups.

Approximately 5 minutes from this place is swap meet where they sell every second hand.

The only negative of the Night Market is the opening hours. It is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Despite the name, it starts 1-1.5 hours before sunset (17:00) and ends at 23:00-24:00, depending on the presence (or absence) of buyers. The first tents open at 16:30, and at 17:30 there is already a brisk trade everywhere.

Prices

Despite its popularity, this place is quite democratic. Prices at the Pattaya Night Market are the lowest in the city. The most common price tag is 100 baht. This is how much t-shirts, shorts, dresses cost. You will not find cheaper even in Tesco Lotus and Big C hypermarkets. But the truth and the quality for such a price is not very high. If you want to buy famous brands (and not fakes for them), then it’s better to go to a nearby store - that’s where you will find both high quality and high prices. You can also come here for souvenirs or authentic Thai, Cambodian and Lao clothes.

Markets in Pattaya are far from the last line among the favorite places for tourists. It is understandable, because it is so interesting there. In the markets you can buy a bunch of different things for very favorable price, buy fresh fruit, have dinner and try many new dishes or take food with you. You can just wander around and look at what is happening around or chat with friends.

In Pattaya, today, there is a fairly large number of different markets. Among them are clothing, food and fruit, fish, night (evening). This market is no less famous than the previous one. First of all, it is very conveniently located across the road from the sea in the center of the popular Jomtien Beach. So, it is within walking distance for vacationers here.

This market is informally called "Russian Market", and this is due to the fact that guests from Russia really like it. In this regard, almost everything here is focused on Russians - most of the price tags are in Russian and there are plenty of Russian dishes. The clothing malls here are not as big as in the Teprazit market, and the main purpose of visiting tourists is dinner and socializing. Open daily from 17.00 to 24.00

Fish market in Pattaya - Naklua Fish Market

A very famous seafood market in Pattaya. It offers the freshest seafood in a very large assortment. If you are a big connoisseur or just want something new, you should definitely visit here.

A small disadvantage is that it is a bit far from Jomtien and the Center. But it's easy to get to by songteo, see the article about the market for more details. The market is located near the fishing piers in Naklua and therefore the goods come here almost directly from the sea. Fresh simply does not happen!

The market is very popular with both locals and tourists. In addition to the fact that you can buy anything here, you can immediately prepare all purchases right on the market and arrange a delicious lunch for yourself. The market is open daily from 06.00 to 17.00

Large clothing market in the downtown Pattaya, which is located on Second Road, not far from shopping center Central Festival Pattaya. Many shopping arcades are located under a large roof, so rain is not a hindrance to shopping here. Despite its name, the market is in full swing during the day.
