Car lifts. Car lifts

Lifting equipment is an indispensable element of any car service. The purpose, as the name suggests, is to raise (or raise) the vehicle. And in this position, the car must be securely held for a long time. So that the masters can safely carry out the necessary operations with it.

Lifts for car service allow:

  • get close to the bottom of the machine and the undercarriage components. This can also be done using a viewing hole. However, the pit is not everywhere, it takes up a lot of space (which simply may not be there). And requires driving experience;
  • remove / install wheels - one, two or all at once. The car lift, even just lifting the car, allows workers to dismantle the wheels on one side. The remaining wheels of the car rest on the floor. Therefore, they cannot be removed at the same time. To gain access to these wheels, you need to rearrange the car lift;
  • to adjust the angles of the wheels of the car, that is, to adjust the wheel alignment.

As a result, the car service lift provides

  • performing operations that cannot be carried out without it;
  • the convenience of car service personnel and service stations. This reduces maintenance time, increases productivity. Additionally, the payback period is reduced technical equipment workshop. Or otherwise - car lifts really save money.

Should I buy this equipment?

Lifts for car service - classification

Typing is carried out according to different criteria. However, the main characteristic is usually the design. Depending on it, allocate

  • single-column lifts for hundred. This is one columnar rack with a bracket crawling along it. The mechanism does not lift the car completely, but only lifts it by the wheel or side. For tire fitting, for example, this is quite enough;
  • two-column. There are two stands here. Each has its own bracket with an independent drive. Brackets pick up the car from both sides under the frame (sides) and lift it entirely. Their movements are coordinated, so it does without distortions. Simultaneity of work is provided with a special cable. It is located above or below. In the first case, they speak of the upper synchronization, in the second - of the lower one. When synchronizing from above, the height of the car is limited by the upper beam along which the cable is laid - the car can rest against it. At the bottom, there are no such problems, but the beam laid on the floor interferes with rolling carts;
  • four-rack. These are lifts for one hundred and two-post, connected in two pairs by a rigid frame with pads for wheels (platform). She moves vertically. The car itself drives onto the platform - and that car lifts. There are large grooves in the middle of the platform, so nothing interferes with access to the bottom. The synchronization system is similar to two-column units. But here it is laid only from below. Sometimes a traverse (additional lifting device) is installed on the platform under one of the wheelsets. Then you can adjust the similarity collapse;
  • scissor. The name comes from the scissor-like lifting arms. Platforms are installed on the levers. The car either drives itself onto the platforms, or they pick it up under the frame (sides). Some models are supplied with traverses;
  • plunger car lifts. This is a variant of rack mechanisms. They have a rack, being a plunger of a hydraulic cylinder, itself acts as a lifting device. Can be equipped with traverses.

The type of power node is another criterion by which a classification can be made. Car lifts for car service stand out here

  • mechanical. Brackets move due to a nut-screw pair;
  • hydraulic. The force is generated by a hydraulic cylinder;
  • pneumatic. The lifting force is provided by a pneumatic piston.

The power units of all three options usually have an electric motor as the initial drive. Therefore, they are often called electromechanical, electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic.

Features of operation - the third criterion for classification, which describes the lift for a car service. It is used frequently. Allocate aggregates

  • stationary. Not in the sense that auto-lifting mechanisms are installed forever, but in the sense that the car drives up to a stationary device. Rack structures are usually, indeed, permanently mounted, but scissor structures are removable;
  • rolling. This mobile version rack units. They are rolled up to the vehicle. The grip is usually by the wheels. Used for heavy multi-axle transport;
  • ditch. Structurally, they are very different. Unites their place of work - in inspection ditches (pits). The main application is hanging wheelsets. Most of them are mobile.

How to choose a car lift?

Before you buy a car lift, determine for yourself what, in fact, is required. Answer four questions in order:

  1. What vehicles is your workshop going to service - cars, trucks, special ones? If cargo, then - urban trucks such as "gazelles" or heavy dump trucks? Most of the equipment on the market is quite versatile. It is designed for light and medium-duty vehicles - up to and including jeeps and small trucks. For other vehicles, other lifting units are needed. Not only because that transport is heavier, but also because of its significant dimensions. Here, “cargo” lifting devices may already be required;
  2. What should be the load capacity? The answer to this question follows directly from the answer to the previous one. Lifting capacity is the maximum lifting weight guaranteed by the equipment manufacturer. Depends mainly on the design scheme. Usually car lifts are designed for 3-6 tons;
  3. What design is required - single-column, two-column or other? This determines the set of available service operations, the comfort of work, the own dimensions of the forklift. The last point may be critical. For example, not every car service has a place for a four-post mechanism;
  4. With what drive to buy a lift? Hydraulics, mechanics or pneumatics do not affect the power capabilities of autolifts. But the complexity of routine maintenance depends on what is chosen. Accordingly, the amount of operating costs also depends. The type of drive is also reflected in the price - hydraulic systems are significantly more expensive (because they are cheaper to maintain).

The answers to the first three questions determine the possibilities of a car service and a service station. The answer to the fourth - determines the cost of maintenance.

The current price level in the market is best viewed on the Internet. To do this, just type in any search program “car lift price”. In response, a list of sites calling to buy a lift for a car service will be issued, indicating models and prices for them. Typically, technology is grouped by type. Of course, you do not need to study all online stores - just look at the corresponding section of the top five.

Now you can select a vendor.

Car repair is a time-consuming and complex process that requires not only certain skills, but also equipment. In particular, it is very important to buy a car lift that will allow you to carry out repair and maintenance work in the garage or in your own service station. The car lift is designed to lift the car and hold it in a horizontal position at a certain height. The basis of such a device can be bearing racks or a system of levers (the so-called scissors). The sale of car lifts for car service is growing every year, but before you buy them for your service station, familiarize yourself with their types and compare them with each other and make the best choice.

Key features of car lifts

An important parameter when choosing a car lift for a car service or garage is its load capacity. It depends on which vehicles you can repair and maintain. The minimum value is usually 2-3 tons, which is quite enough for small machines.

Equally important is the power consumption of the electric motor, which is determined in kW. A large part of car lifts for service stations has an average power in the range of 2-2.5 kW. Another characteristic that you need to pay attention to before buying a car lift is the weight of the equipment itself. It is important that the device is as stable as possible. To a large extent, it also depends on the strength of the concrete floor on which the lift will be fixed. If the surface is not very strong, then it is possible to use a special floor frame.

Other parameters of car lifts, the price of which varies greatly depending on them, are the maximum height and rise time from the lowest to the highest point, dimensions, as well as the maximum slope. The last parameter refers to four-post car lifts, which are used at wheel alignment points.

Types and features of car lifts

Our catalog contains many two- and four-rack, as well as scissor models of various carrying capacities (from 2.5 to 7 tons). Many of the presented models are equipped with a drive, which ensures the durability and uninterrupted operation of the equipment, as well as low noise levels. In addition, such a drive makes lifting and lowering the car smoother, and the process itself faster. It also reduces power consumption. In addition, we offer lifts with a pneumatic drive, which raises the platform with compressed air. It is considered more reliable when working in difficult conditions.

Very popular equipment consisting of two racks. Each of them is equipped with paws (brackets) for lifting the machine. The load capacity of the models presented in our store reaches 7 tons. The machine on such equipment is picked up by the jacking zones. The angle of rotation at the front brackets is 180 degrees. Due to this, it is possible to provide enough fast installation cars, with both short and long base.

By design, a two-rack fixture is symmetrical and asymmetrical. The difference between them is that in the latter, the racks are turned slightly towards the rear of the machine. The sizes of their telescopic legs are different - the front ones are usually longer. Asymmetric two-column models are recommended for servicing vehicles weighing no more than 3 tons.

If you are looking for equipment with a higher load capacity, then you should buy a car lift with 4 posts. It has a platform in which hydraulics are integrated. Thanks to the latter, the lift works with a minimum level of noise. The platform of many models is placed quite low. You can buy such a car lift for a car service at a price that suits you, you can from us. It should be added that the equipment with 4 racks is ideal for servicing machines that have low ground clearance.

The platform for four-post equipment can be smooth, designed for wheel alignment, etc. Typically, such an auto lift is used to repair a cargo vehicle. Many modern models have a multi-position safety lock at the gangways. The design can be provided with a stopper system, which allows you to securely fix the machine at the required height. You can find out how much this type of car lift costs in our catalogs.

If you are looking for an alternative to the described options, then you can buy a scissor lift. In another way, it is called parallelogram. Its feature is that in a non-working condition such a lift takes up a minimum of space. On the surface of the equipment there are ramps and ladders. Scissor models are great for solving general service tasks.

It should be added that you can buy a car lift for car service and service stations from us at a price that suits you completely, and with delivery to anywhere in Russia.

In modern car services and on stations Maintenance used various equipment allowing to optimize diagnostic and repair work. In particular, the decision to buy car lift for car service helps to increase the efficiency of locksmith and tire fitting works.

Car lifts for car service, the price of which varies from 50 to 350 thousand rubles, are designed to lift vehicles to a certain height, providing the craftsmen with convenient access to the bottom of the car, the main components of the car. This not only improves the quality of work performed, but also speeds up diagnostics and repairs, which, in turn, has a positive effect on the number of customers that one car mechanic can receive during a working day.

If you think “I will buy a car lift”, then when making a decision, you should consider not only the price of the equipment, but also the features of its design.

Car lift characteristics

Despite the fact that all lifts are used for similar purposes, they have different designs, technical and operational characteristics. This must be taken into account before buying a car lift. First, you need to decide which vehicles you are going to serve: cars, motorcycles, freight transport. Different models of equipment have different carrying capacity, as a rule, no more than 5 tons.

Secondly, when buying a car lift for a car service, you need to decide in advance on the place where the stand will stand. If you want to move the lift, then pay attention to the mobile structures on sale. If the room in which the equipment will be located is small, pay attention to scissor lifts: they are the most compact.

Important characteristics that determine the cost of a car lift are also structural stability, type of drive, vehicle lifting speed, lifting height, etc.

Car lift device

The most important classification of car lifts concerns the features of the drive device. So, on sale you can find car lifts:

  • With electromechanical drive.

Often, such models are also called screw models, since a screw-nut pair is responsible for the movement of the equipment. Accordingly, the durability and wear resistance of such a lift depends on the regularity of the preventive work and monitoring the state of the propeller. The screw car lift is not only reliable, but also affordable, so it is purchased not only by car repair shops, but also by individuals. You can check the prices of screw lifts on our website.

  • With electrohydraulic drive.

The hydraulic car lift is one of the most popular designs that most service stations are equipped with. The hydraulic drive provides the technique with many advantages: energy savings, almost silent operation, smooth lifting and lowering of the car, which increases the safety of the vehicle. Hydraulic lifts are also characterized by a long service life, requiring virtually no maintenance. At the same time, the cost of car lifts with an electro-hydraulic drive remains very affordable.

  • With pneumatic drive.

This type of drive is predominantly used in scissor lifts.

Sale of car lifts

The decision to “buy car lifts” must be made after you have thoroughly familiarized yourself with the offers of the main manufacturers on the market. You can do this on our website: we present the most current models of equipment. The dependence of the cost on the manufacturer is still obvious, not to mention the fact that the quality of equipment and the possibility of after-sales service depend on the manufacturer.

Most of the stands presented today are Chinese car lifts. Most European companies prefer to open assembly shops in China. But in addition to Chinese car lifts, you will also find products from Germany, Italy, the USA and other countries.

Probably there is no such car enthusiast who has not visited a car service at least once and has not entrusted the diagnostics or repair of his vehicle to its professional employees. In addition, I think many of you have had the opportunity to personally observe how the car is lifted up with the help of a special device called a car lift. Agree, the thing is quite useful, it’s a pity it’s just very expensive and not affordable for an ordinary car owner (the cost of a two-point car lift in Ukraine starts at about UAH 26,000).

But if suddenly, you decide to open your own workshop, and there will be no place for a viewing hole, then it is simply impossible to do without the help of such an installation. It is about what kind of car lifts are, how to install them correctly and will be discussed in this article.

Car lift - a convenient device for any room

Nowadays, in the car markets you can find almost any part you need, and what is not in the stores of a particular city, you certainly have it in the country's online stores. Car lifts are no exception in this regard, presented in the most diverse form, differing from each other in different characteristics, including price.

You can choose a more serious model, but then in the process of installing it you will have to seek help from specialists, or you can look for an option with the instructions (photo instructions) attached to it and do it on your own, thereby saving a decent amount of money.

What is a lift and why exactly is it needed, we will now try to find out. This device is the most necessary and frequently used type of service garage equipment, designed for the fastest and most comfortable access to all parts of the car in order to repair, replace or test them. I think it’s not worth saying that a high-quality car lift, in addition to other features, must also ensure one hundred percent safety for the employee working with it, which is probably one of the most important conditions for its operation.

The main technical characteristics of any lift, which should be taken into account when choosing it, include: its own weight, carrying capacity, electric motor power, maximum lifting height, lifting time to the highest point, taking into account the maximum load, distance from the floor to the top of the bracket, dimensions of the device and maximum slope (especially relevant for four-post lifts), the required height of the room and the size of the area for installing equipment, foundation requirements. Given the type of car lift, other characteristics may be added to this list.

All such devices that exist today are divided into types, depending on the type of construction (single-column, two-column, four-column, scissor, plunger) or the type of drive (electrohydraulic, electromechanical, pneumatic). Let us briefly describe the features of each of them.

Single post car lifts consist of one carrier rack (column), can be either stationary (carrying capacity up to 2.5 tons) or mobile (carrying capacity up to 250 kg.), and the machine is lifted either by the wheels or by the thresholds of one of its sides. The main advantage of this type is the small footprint. Suitable for a wide variety of jobs: from tire fitting to anti-corrosion treatment of the body.

Two post car lifts already have two columns (racks), each of which is equipped with brackets. The machine is hooked on the jacking platforms on both sides and rises. There are symmetrical and asymmetric (racks are slightly turned towards the rear of the car, and the paws have different lengths) two-post lifts. Asymmetric car lifts are suitable for vehicles weighing up to 3 tons, and symmetrical ones, due to better stability, can also lift larger cars (up to 5 tons). Also, this design can have a floor frame (facilitates installation), which is very valuable in the presence of fragile floors in the room.

Four post car lifts, as the name suggests, are already equipped with four racks, with a corresponding platform placed on them, capable of lowering low enough to serve cars with low ground clearance (for example, sports cars). The lift can be equipped with platforms different type: smooth, with an auxiliary micro-lifter, a platform for adjusting the wheel alignment, etc. Usually such lifts are used in work with trucks or to adjust the angles of the wheels. positive moment working with them, thanks to the hydraulic system, there is their noiselessness.

Scissor car lifts, also called parallelogram, operate on the basis of hydraulic drives, with the possibility of synchronizing the sides electronically. The car lift kit includes a wheel alignment stand and additional lifting platforms for hanging wheels. In a non-working state, such lifts are almost invisible, which is one of their advantages.

Plunger lifts are equipped with the simplest possible design: the brackets are attached to the ends of the hydraulic cylinder plungers recessed into the floor. Also, the variant of the ground location of the lifting parts is possible, which is not as convenient as the use of recesses in the floor, because in a non-working condition, space is not saved. Access to the car, when using such a lift, is provided from any side, and a separate control unit allows its operation even at car washes.

Car lifts with electro-hydraulic drive quieter and smoother operation, increased level safety, faster lifting (lowering), more long service, low cost and ease of maintenance. Elevators with an electromechanical drive can be considered their main advantages low cost and a simple design, and the disadvantages include the need for regular maintenance of a pair of "screw-nuts" - the working body of the tool.

The pneumatic drive raises the platform by compressing air, thereby increasing the speed of work. Also, it is possible to simultaneously service all the wheels of the car, and in the off-season, also minor repairs to the chassis. The pneumatic lift can only be installed on a hard, level floor (most often a concrete surface).

As you can see, there are a lot of various kinds car lifts will definitely allow you to choose the right model based on the requirements of the premises and the conditions of future work.

Do-it-yourself car lift installation

Having decided to purchase a car lift, first of all, you need to determine exactly what vehicles he will have to deal with: cars, with a normal weight (you will need a device designed for a load capacity of up to 3.5 tons), medium or large (cargo), for which you will need devices with great potential. Also, when buying a car lift, you should check the availability of all components and the corresponding instructions. The installation process itself takes place in two stages and includes preparatory work and direct installation of the structure.

The preparation includes right choice installation sites (should be convenient for both service employees and customers), the presence of a perfectly even concrete coating with a thickness of 250 to 400 mm. The flat floor is prerequisite for most devices, with the exception of lifts, which are based on a frame. Compared to frameless types, they are more reliable and durable, and when the vehicle is raised, they have a much better stop, which increases speed and safety.

When calculating the installation, it is necessary to take into account the distance from the fully raised car to the ceiling (they should not touch), that is, the entire structure must be set to the maximum length of future cars being repaired. The average protrusion of the bumper of all cars from the middle of the lift holders is 2 meters.

At this preparatory stage ends and you can proceed to the direct installation. It is done like this:

the frame of the device is set according to the level, after which it is securely fixed;

the base of the structure, in several stages, is poured with solutions (the symmetry of the frame is preliminarily measured);

final fixation of the frame by screwing the bolts into the holes of the risers (only after the concrete has completely dried). The length of the mounting bolts must not be less than 220 mm.

in accordance with the instructions, the racks are attached to the lifting frame.

Depending on the type of the selected lift, there are some features of the installation of each of them. So, for example, for the installation of a hydraulic lift, an important condition is the correct pulling of the cable, after which all the chains are put on and the bolts are well tightened. If after that the frame of the lift has shifted, and the symmetry of the racks does not match, it makes sense to substitute metal plates under them, which are included in the kit.

In principle, there is nothing wrong with self-installing a car lift, the main thing is to carefully study the instructions and accurately carry out all measurements.

Connecting the electrics and checking the operation of the lift

The final step in installing the car lift is to connect the electrics and check its performance. To perform these actions, it is better to invite an experienced electrician, since one wrong move and you can get a serious electric shock. The process of connecting the electrical component of the device includes the installation of emergency switches and the supply of electrical cables.

The work, at first glance, is quite simple, and if you have experience in building electrical circuits, you can try to carry out these steps yourself, however, if you are not sure about own forces, even if everything is clearly described in the instructions, it is better not to experiment, because the serviceability of the car lift and the reliable performance of its functions in the future will depend on the correct connection.

Carrying out testing of the operation of the car lift different types has some features. For example, before checking hydraulic lifting devices, according to the instructions, you first need to fill in oil, and then raise and lower it several times. If everything works, the platform does not wedge, then you can congratulate yourself - you did everything right and all that remains is to enjoy using it.

Do not forget! Inspection of the car lift should be carried out at least once every half a year, and if possible, monthly diagnostics will not be superfluous. In the future, this will help to avoid failures in his and your work.

The car lift is one of the main elements of the equipment of any car service. In the domestic market, you can find a large assortment of such devices that allow you to perform high-quality repair and maintenance of cars. It is better to purchase a lift in a specialized store. Only in this case you will be able to buy high-quality equipment that will meet your requirements.

Before making a choice, it is recommended to evaluate the work of your own car service and its volumes - this will help determine the type of installation. Some owners of car services decide to abandon the lift due to its high cost. But in this case, they will suffer even greater losses, because they will not be able to get regular customers completely satisfied with the quality of work. Meanwhile, properly selected equipment will allow the car service to reach a new level of service, and it will pay off pretty quickly. Lifts are a profitable investment, because these installations, with proper maintenance, can work for several decades.

Types of car lifts by design type

single column

It includes one carrier rack. Its undoubted advantage is its compactness. Single-rack devices are stationary and mobile. The former are distinguished by their high carrying capacity - they can lift loads weighing up to 2.5 tons. The latter can lift a load weighing up to 250 kg.

The vehicle is lifted from one side by the wheels or by the thresholds. The single post lift is great for car maintenance work, as well as for the treatment of the bottom from the appearance of corrosion, tire fitting at service stations with a limited area, and in garages.

two post

It includes 2 racks, each of which has brackets for lifting vehicles. The carrying capacity can reach 5 tons. The pickup of the vehicle is carried out by the jacking platforms. The front legs of this lift have a 180-degree swivel angle. Due to this, the operational installation of vehicles with both a long and a short base is ensured. Equipment with an asymmetric design is used to repair light vehicles with a wide base.

Two-post lifts are symmetrical and asymmetrical. In the latter, the racks turn towards the rear of the car. The length of the telescopic legs they have is different. The front ones are a little shorter. This makes it easier to open the car doors. Such equipment is suitable for vehicles with a small weight - no more than 3 tons. Large vehicles with significant weight will need to use symmetrical installations. They provide greater stability of the car on its paws.

Two-post lifts can also have a floor frame, you will need it when using the equipment on an uneven floor. This design makes the installation of equipment easier. In the last few years, "clean floor" devices have become in demand. Thanks to them, a comfortable check-in of the vehicle and the work of a car mechanic under it are ensured. If the synchronization elements are located on top, then you should pay attention to the height of the jumper. For example, to serve a minivan with a high roof, you will need a height of at least 4000 mm.

Four post

This lift includes 4 racks and an auto platform placed on them. A hydraulic system is built into it, thanks to which the device operates quite quietly. The platform has a small height. This allows you to service cars with low ground clearance, including sports cars.

Such equipment is equipped with various types of platforms: smooth, elongated smooth, with grooves, platform for camber. Four-rack devices are used mainly for servicing various trucks. They can also be found at checkpoints.

scissor

The main advantage of these lifts is that if they are not working, they practically do not take up space. If ground installation is performed, only entrance ramps and ladders are placed on the surface. Such devices are usually equipped with a hydraulic drive. Therefore, they work almost silently and have a long service life.

Synchronization between the two sides of such a lift occurs either through very precise hydraulics or electronically. In such devices, additional lifting tables are provided for hanging wheels. The scissor lift can be used for general service work.

Plunger

Their design is quite simple. Ladders, lifting paws and platforms are attached to the end parts of the hydraulic cylinder plungers. The latter are recessed into the floors in a vertical position. The plunger lift is of two types: with the deepening of lifting devices in the floors and with their placement above the ground. In the first option, if the device does not work, then absolutely nothing is visible on the floor surface. When the car is on a lift, it can be approached both from the left and from the right. Due to the presence of a remote control unit in this device, it can be used in car washes and inside buildings.

Plunger lifting mechanisms are an excellent solution for general service work, including the delivery and acceptance of a vehicle. They come in one, two, three or four plungers. The latter can be used to work in conjunction with wheel alignment stands. Through the use of unique timing circuits, such devices can be combined into large systems for the repair of vehicles with a large weight, as well as a large length.

Classification of lifts by type of drive

With electromechanical drive

The lift with this type of drive has the main advantage - low cost. It also has a simple design. A pair of screw-nut is the working "organ" of this device. Strict requirements are imposed on its frequency of maintenance.

With electro-hydraulic drive

Such a lift, compared with many other models, has many advantages: low power consumption, smooth operation, low noise, high speed lift. It has a long service life. It has the ability to lower in a situation where there are difficulties with the supply of electricity. Servicing it is quite simple, it does not require large material costs. Also this mechanism has a high level of security.

Pneumatic driven

Such a lift belongs to scissor and pantograph mechanisms. Unlike hydraulic devices, the platform is lifted with compressed air. This makes it possible to increase the speed of repair or adjustment of the vehicle. They buy it for use at various service stations, in tire shops. With the help of the platform, it is possible to haul out the entire chassis of the vehicle and service all its wheels in the same period of time.

The installation of a platform at a tire shop makes it possible to carry out minor repairs to the running gear between seasons. The design of the lifting mechanism has a safety stopper. The lift itself is installed on any flat and hard surface, such as concrete or asphalt.

Main technical characteristics of car lifts

They must be taken into account when choosing this device. The main characteristics include:

  • load capacity;
  • lift weight;
  • Power consumption of the electric motor;
  • The highest lifting height of the vehicle;
  • The time it takes to lift the vehicle to its maximum height;
  • Minimum distance from the top of the lift leg to the floor;
  • The geometric dimensions of the lifting mechanism. This setting is the main technological characteristic four-post devices that are used at the posts for adjusting the angles of mounting the wheels;
  • Recommended minimum area dimensions for the lift;
  • The minimum height of the ceiling in the room;
  • Requirements for the foundation of the installation of the lift.

How to choose a car lift?

In order to select the right lift, four important criteria must be taken into account.

load capacity

From this characteristic will depend on which car can be lifted by a lifting installation. It can be a small car weighing 1.5 tons or an SUV that weighs 9 tons. For auto repair shops that are not universal, a popular model with a load capacity of up to 5 tons will be quite enough.

lifting height

Usually, vehicle do not raise more than two meters above the floor. The total height of the device is rarely more than 3.7 meters. Of course, there are also models that have more impressive parameters that can lift a car to a height of more than 4 meters, but they are more useful for servicing large cars and buses.

Difficulty in operation and maintenance

This criterion is of great importance. But it cannot be expressed in numbers. Every day before starting work, it is necessary to carry out visual inspection device mounts. It is also required to regularly lubricate rubbing mechanisms.

Drive type and design

In domestic workshops, rack-mounted lifts have been very popular for a long time. Now many auto repair shops prefer plunger devices that are versatile and comfortable to use.

Stationary racks, which are equipped with pickups for wheels, make it possible to hang out only cars with a certain wheelbase. So it is better to choose this type of lift if the car park is more or less homogeneous.

Platform lifts offer the most flexibility of any stationary device. The dimensions of the repaired machines are limited only by the width of the platform, as well as the gaps between its tracks. Mobile racks are the most versatile.

As for the type of drive, the most popular is the pneumohydraulic drive. But such a drive is not suitable for automotive vehicles weighing more than 6 tons. In this case, it would be more reasonable to choose a lift with an electromechanical or hydraulic drive. The two types of such lifts are the same in terms of vehicle lifting speed. But hydraulically driven devices are more cost-effective and more convenient to maintain. They operate silently, have a smooth ride and do not depend on voltage drops. They need to be lubricated only once a year. In electromechanical devices, this must be done daily.

The hydraulic lift can lift heavy loads. It also has a long service life and excellent breakage resistance. The only elements that can wear out in it are rubber seals. But even if the stuffing box is already leaking, the device can still work. It will only be necessary to add oil to the drive system. The advantage of such a device is that it has a high degree of security. It has a locking system that is triggered by spontaneous lowering.

When purchasing a lift, it is worth considering other no less important characteristics, for example, the speed at which the car is being lifted. Of course, those models that provide greater speed will be more preferable. But if we take into account the fact that they are quite expensive, then an ordinary car workshop may not take this criterion into account when choosing.

The efficiency of the lifting mechanism will depend on how much electricity it consumes. Of course, the smaller this parameter, the better. As a rule, the power consumption is 6-10 kW. But on large-tonnage devices, it can reach up to 20 kW.

It is unlikely that it will be possible to choose a universal model of the lifting device. In any case, not only the carrying capacity is important, but also the dimensions of the vehicles.

Before buying a lift, you should pay attention to the absence of defects in its design. Their presence may adversely affect its operation. It is important to carefully study the characteristics of the lifting device and the documentation that comes with it.

When buying a lift, it is worth remembering that not only the quality of the repair work performed, but also the safety of employees and the car, which was entrusted to specialists for maintenance or repair, depends on its reliability. Therefore, it is recommended to choose lifting devices according to specialized stores and from trusted manufacturers.
