Print background for scrapbooking. Scrapbooking backgrounds for printing - what backgrounds are needed, which ones to choose and where to find them. Scrap paper crafts

More recently, scrapbooking was something mysterious and unknown for us! But today it has won the hearts of many and has become an integral part of our lives :) More and more people every day join this wonderful art form, and magical pages and charming postcards are born!

Many people are afraid to start just because they don't have necessary materials. But I want to note that we ourselves set barriers for ourselves, because our creativity can be limited only by our inspiration and imagination! And from my own experience, I’ll note, no matter how many different ribbons, stamps, pieces of paper and other little things that are so dear to us, we don’t buy, it will still always be small :)
So, before ordering half of the goods in the online store, when your eyes run wide and you want everything at once, I suggest practicing on more affordable things. And with experience, you will already learn to understand what is really needed to realize your fantasies.

And so, we will solve the issue with paper, because this is the basis of everything. The easiest way is to print it out on a printer (I think that every house has such a thing, and if not, then you can buy the simplest jet printer for 1000 r). Let's not forget that a printer, like a machine, sometimes needs to be refilled :) To do this, we need a set of syringes with ink, which, for example, is enough for me for six months. And now, the machine is ready to work, it remains to choose the paper on which we will print. For starters, so that it’s not a pity to spoil it, I advise you to use ordinary office paper, and then, when you make friends with the printer and it starts printing exactly what you want, you can go to any art store and buy pastel paper and watercolor paper. Personally, I prefer to print on watercolor paper.

Now we need to find the background. In addition to the usual Scrapbooking, there is also such a thing as digital Scrapbooking (scrapbooking on a computer), and just for him they create the same wonderful paper, but in in electronic format. She is what we need. For starters, you can look here http://www.shabbyprincess.com/, but here are a large number of scans in excellent quality. Download what you like and proceed to the final stage.
The background needs to be brought to life so that you can touch it with your hands :) And this is exactly what our printer, frozen in anticipation, will do!

There are several advantages of printed paper over real scrapbooking paper:

You can always print more if it gets messed up!

If you print several backgrounds, and then realize that they don’t fit with each other, it won’t be as offensive as for the purchased paper :)

You can change the color of the same background, getting a completely different paper (we can talk about this in more detail if necessary).

The background can always be printed in the desired size.

Now for the disadvantages:

The largest page size will not be 30x30, but 20x20.

Some scrapbooking paper comes with various finishes (velvet, golden inserts, etc.), we cannot print this.

Scrap paper is double-sided (although not always), but if we glue two printed backgrounds, then we will also get no worse.

Purchased paper is made from acid-free materials so that the pictures do not deteriorate, I can’t say anything here, I don’t know how our printout will affect photos in 50 years :)

Well, that seems to be all!

P.S. I wish you good luck, and in the next part we will talk about toning the edges!

The main material of this type of arts and crafts is scrapbooking - backgrounds for printing. The background of the work is paper, which has a certain pattern and color, which is the inspiration for creating a creation.

The name "scrapbooking" consists of two English words - scrap (cutting) and book (book). In the exact meaning of scrapbooking - the creation of books, albums, notebooks from paper clippings. But in practice, this word refers to any needlework with paper, including the creation of postcards, magnets, etc.

Drawings for scrapbooking in good quality are very different. Bright and matte, striped and polka-dotted, floral, with floral ornaments, with geometric shapes. Retro style, vintage, natural elements, floral ornaments, drawings with the effect of crumpled or burnt paper are popular. A special place is occupied by drawings for natural materials. Such good quality scrapbooking backgrounds can be made so skillfully that from afar it will be difficult to distinguish what the product is made of or its surface - plain paper, natural bark, fabric, wood or leather.

The basics for scrapbooking differ in their focus. They are delicate pastel, bright watercolor, with small, large and "stuffed" drawings. In fact, everything depends only on the imagination and mood of the author.

Good quality scrapbooking backgrounds are essential if the final result of the work looks coherent and worthy. If you use expensive, interesting material, but the very basis of the work is tasteless and blurry, the product simply cannot look beautiful.

The simplest and most affordable printout is in A4 format. Such an image can be ordered at a printing house, as well as printed independently on a regular home printer.

If you decide to do this type of needlework as scrapbooking, printable backgrounds can be found on various specialized sites, as well as on sites with a library of pictures. Yes, and downloading an image on the Internet is not the only way out; in specialized needlework stores you can always buy discs with a set of beautiful backgrounds. In addition, stores sell ready-made scrapbook kits. Albums are bought as a whole, or sheets are sold separately.

But it should be noted that it is not so easy to find backgrounds for printing in high resolution on the Internet. Carefully choose pictures, view the description of the files. Most often, backgrounds for printing in high resolution are offered by paid sites, but with due diligence, drawings can be found on free sites and thematic forums of needlewomen.

But high resolution is not always a guarantee of high-quality drawing. Important elements will also be the paper on which you print your base and the quality of the printer's inks.

Images for scrapbooking in good quality are most often printed on thick paper, cardboard, or photographic paper. Moreover, on photographic paper, a drawing can be printed from any side. Thus, backgrounds of various textures will be obtained - glossy or matte.

Also, for scrapbooking, other necessary elements are printed in good quality - small thematic drawings, antique handwritten texts, small paper decorations, etc.

In addition to the background for scrapbooking, various design elements are used. They can be either flat colored paper, stickers, magazine clippings, pieces of fabric, etc.), and voluminous (buttons, flowers, beads, semi-beads). The possibilities for scrap are virtually endless. Try to use any objects and elements that stick to the main background for your work.

Today, more than ever, handmade decorative souvenirs are in demand. For this, various types of creativity are used. One of the most popular lately is scrapbooking, which uses scrap paper: special, plain, cardboard, wallpaper or unusual drawings that can be printed on any color printer. How to age scrapbooking sheets

The simplest and fast way to give the work produced mystery and aristocracy - to artificially age the material. There are several ways to do this. They are the following:

  • coffee or tea (the longer you keep the leaf in liquid, the more beautiful the color);
  • milk (the material is crushed, soaked in fat milk and dried with an iron - this will give beautiful brown stains);
  • potassium permanganate solution (principle as when working with coffee or tea);
  • lemon juice (the principle is the same as with milk, only the leaf is not crushed);
  • candle, lighter (burn the edges of the sheet or “brown” the middle).

How to choose scrap paper

In order to choose scrap paper, you should be guided not only by cost - choose what is cheap or expensive, although the price matters, but also know what criteria you should pay attention to. They are the following: size, density, purpose. The latter determines where and by whom the material will be used. For example, when choosing materials for children's creativity, it is important to understand that it will be difficult for a child to handle very thick or large paper.

The size

Scrapbooking materials are available in several sizes: 15x15, 20x20, 30x30. However, there are other formats: A4, A2, A3. The size should correspond to the product itself, for example, a 15x15 photo album, which means that the material is selected the same. When choosing large formats, you should pay attention to the position of the picture and its compliance with the author's idea.

Density

A thin sheet is considered in the range from 120 to 180 g / m2, dense - from 190 to 240 g / m2. Any materials are used in the work. It all depends on the purpose: for external design, it is best to take a dense one. If you need to make landscape pages, a postcard, a thin one is more suitable. If scrap paper is needed for the cover, then it must be glued onto the base.

How to replace scrapbooking paper

Instead of scrapbooking paper, plain paper is quite suitable, which is additionally colored (looks interesting in pink), crumpled or decorated with unusual materials: foil, stamps, ornaments, with text. For the manufacture of handmade gifts, rough or colored cardboard, velvet sheets, pieces of wallpaper, old newspapers or magazines are often used.
