My grandmother says that our country used to be called the most reading country in the world. And today children read little, they watch more and more TV or sit at the computer. I thought about it and decided to check whether modern children really have begun to read less? While talking with classmates, I realized that many guys do not like to read at all. I was wondering, does reading somehow affect your studies?I decided to do research.

Subject: The influence of reading technique on student achievement.

Goal of the work: determine the influence of the importance of reading technique in the success of schoolchildren’s learning.

Tasks:

1. Find out the attitude of our school students towards reading.

2. Study the results of our class's reading techniques.

3. Identify the level of relationship between reading technique and the quality of academic performance.

An object research : students of our school.

Subject of study : Reading and student achievement.

Hypothesis: If the reading technique of students is low, then the quality of academic performance is low.

I used the followingresearch methods:

Studying literature and Internet sources on this topic.

    Conducting a survey.

    Analysis of the results obtained.

    Formulation of conclusions.

The value of the results is that students will not only begin to read more, but will also love this activity. This means that they will study better.

To write the work, we used Internet resources, proverbs and sayings, and exercises from “Entertaining Pedagogy.”

I . What is reading?

1.1. What is reading?

Reading is a person’s main skill in life, without which he will not be able to comprehend the world around him. “A book is a teacher without payment or gratitude. Every moment gives you revelations of wisdom.” (A. Navoi)

Reading is the process of converting alphabetic symbols into words, the process of obtaining information from a book. Reading is a person’s main skill in life, without which he will not be able to comprehend the world around him.

The skill of reading is both something that is taught and at the same time something through which the student himself learns.

The book develops your horizons. It’s so interesting to look into it and imagine the past: battles, kings, jousting tournaments, wars, geographical and Scientific research, learn about the history of your homeland and get to know the culture and religion of other peoples. You can read both fiction and scientific literature about the same event. This helps create a vivid, holistic picture of the event.

The book develops thinking and imagination. Mentally visit other countries and cities, imagine and find yourself in the time of dinosaurs or in the future. Television gives us a ready-made “picture” in which the film director has imagined for you. When reading a book, you imagine the characters and surroundings in a completely different way.

Books help us make the right decisions. Sometimes, looking at the characters in a book, we recognize ourselves or our friends, we learn from other people’s mistakes and try to avoid them.

By reading any work, we become more literate, both in oral and written speech. We expand our vocabulary, thereby making ourselves a more interesting person.

I found several studies that will tell you what specific skills improve when we read. Now spending time with a book will be even more enjoyable.
1. Reading reduces stress.Do you prefer to take a walk or listen to music to relieve stress? Scientists at the University of Sussex say you should read a book instead. Reading has been found to be the most effective way to reduce stress. Just 6 minutes of reading reduces stress levels by more than two-thirds.
2.Reading will help get rid of insomnia.
Reading is one of the most effective ways calm down and get ready for sleep. Bright light from the TV or phone sends a signal to the brain that it is time to wake up. Reading a book with dim lighting has the opposite effect - the brain understands that it is time to relax.
3. Reading makes you more empathetic.
While reading, you probably empathize with the characters of the book. Research shows that by experiencing a work of art, a person learns empathy and emotional understanding of another person in real life.
4. Reading makes you more attractive.
A high intellectual level makes you more attractive to people. The ability to carry on a conversation on any topic and show off your erudition when meeting someone gives you a greater chance that a person will give preference to you.
5. Reading improves memory and thinking abilities.
Every time you read, you exercise your brain. Each time he creates new connections to save the information received. Studies have found that in people who constantly read or write, the decline in mental activity occurs much more slowly than in those who rarely put such stress on the brain.
6. Reading expands your vocabulary.
When you read, you come across words that are not usually used in everyday speech. If a word is unfamiliar, you don’t have to look it up in the dictionary. Sometimes the meaning can be understood from the overall content. Reading not only helps in increasing vocabulary, but also improves overall literacy.
7. Reading makes you a good storyteller.
The more other people's stories you read, the better you will become at telling your own. You will learn to filter out unnecessary information and better present what you need. The more exciting your stories are, the more interesting you will seem to others, the more convincing your words will be to them.

But we must not forget that you need to read books intended for your age. It’s stupid if at the age of sixteen a person reads the fairy tales “Teremok” and “Turnip”, and the mother reads “Teremok” and “Turnip” to a five-year-old child at night. Dead Souls» N.V. Gogol.

Who hasn't heard the saying “Books are your best friends!”? This is true, and it must be acknowledged! Unfortunately, now the love of reading has noticeably faded - everything has been replaced by the ubiquitous computer and the insatiable Internet.

If we compare reading with other modern entertainments, such as watching movies, playing music, playing computer games, then its advantage lies, at least in its undeniable benefits for the development of thinking abilities.

Children and teenagers who often read literature have higher intelligence than those who neglect this useful activity. Isn't this proof of all of the above? Moreover, many famous people Those who have achieved success in life admit that they would not trade their libraries and the opportunity to read their favorite book for anything.

When reading, you must simultaneously understand what you read, think, show strong-willed qualities, and include the processes of memory, attention, and perception. The development process of a student depends on reading speed. Children who read a lot usually read quickly, which means they absorb a lot of information. In general, reading skill consists of two sides: semantic and technical. The main semantic side of reading is understood as the fact that the reader understands words used in the literal and figurative sense, understands the content of individual chapters and paragraphs.

The technical side of reading includes several components: firstly, the correctness of reading, i.e. the ability to read words correctly without distortion, replacement or rearrangement of letters, syllables, words. Secondly, the ability to understand the content of the text, its meaning. Thirdly, expressiveness is the ability to emotionally convey what is being read, observing the author’s punctuation marks and understanding their meaning. Fourthly, this is the way of reading. There are four ways of reading: 1) letter-by-letter, 2) syllabic, 3) smooth syllabic with reading in whole words, 4) reading in whole words. Fifthly, this is the pace of reading, i.e. speed of reading words per minute. Reading skills are formed during the period of study in primary school, therefore, in the elementary grades there are their own reading standards. By the end of 4th grade, the program requires students to read at least 90 words per minute.

However, there are other opinions. Some teachers and scientists believe that the optimal reading speed is reading at the pace of conversational speech, i.e. 120 – 150 words per minute. It is to this tempo that the human articulatory apparatus has adapted.

II . Practical part

2.1. Survey of class students

How do you even imagine life without books? It's boring and uninteresting! Many children play computer games or watch cartoons and series on TV in their free time. What's the use of them? What can SpongeBob or the Terminator teach you? And a book is the key to knowledge. By reading it, you will learn a lot of new and useful things for yourself. Even ancient people said: “People stop thinking when they stop reading.”

The book develops your horizons. It’s so interesting to look into it and imagine the past: battles, kings, knightly tournaments, wars, geographical and scientific research.

I was interested to find out if the guys from our class and our school like to read. We entered any classroom or, walking along the corridor, asked the students a question: “Do you like to read?”

Based on the children’s answers, it became clear that only a few people like to read. Many shook their heads that they did not like this activity.

I decided to find out what place reading books takes among my classmates. To do this, I conducted a survey. The questionnaire included the question “What do I like to do in my free time?” and five answer options:

    Going out with friends;

    Watch TV;

    Play on computer or phone

    Exercise.

I had to choose and mark one option for spending my free time.As a result, when counting the votes, it turned out that 6 people like to read in their free time, the same number like to go out with friends, two people like to watch TV, 1 person likes to play sports and 3 people like to play computer games.

The same questionnaire was written by children from the sixth grade. The results show that one person loves to read, and six people cannot imagine themselves without playing on their phone or computer.

Everyone in our class is enrolled in the school library, but only 5 people attend, another 5 people visit it 1-2 times a month. The rest of the children have not yet attended this school year. Although the guys from grade 2 “b” attend constantly. If, on average, students in grade 2 “a” read 2 books, then students in grade 2 “b” read 6 books.

To the question, “For what purpose do you visit the library?” we received very interesting answers. 48 people answered that they go for books to read them, and 6 people to play checkers. From these data it is clear that many children in our school do not like to read and do not think that reading affects academic performance.

After conducting a survey, I found out that only 6 students enjoy reading in their free time. The rest don't read at will, but according to the instructions of the teacher and the requirements of the parents.
I decided to check whether the ability to read quickly helps in learning.

In our class, we tested our students' reading techniques. The test showed that out of 18 students, 8 read at “5”, 4 at “4”, 3 at “3” and 3 at “2”.

Next, I decided to find out: how many students are in our drum class. It became known from the magazine that out of 18 certified students, 12 were drummers. These are those who read above the norm or norm.

This means that we can conclude that learning depends on reading.

In the class, we introduced home reading, that is, the children must read three pages every day, parents must sign the diary, confirm that the student has read. This is taken into account in the table, which is kept by the guys themselves. This table shows that those who have poor reading skills do extra reading at home very rarely.

2.2. Doing homework on literature

I counted the number of words in one of the paragraphs in the 2nd and 6th grade textbooks and checked the research to see how much time it takes to complete homework.

I counted the number of words in the Kyrgyz fairy tale “The Wise Old Man” in the literary reading of the 2nd grade textbook. The text consists of 527 words. A student with a reading speed of 100 words per minute will read this text in 5 minutes. To better memorize the text, it is advisable to re-read it again (+5 minutes) and spend another 10 minutes on questions. Another 5 minutes for retelling. Total for preparing homework according to literary reading the student needed 25 minutes of time. And if a student reads 23 words in 2nd grade, then it will take 21 minutes to read. Plus another 20 minutes for repeated reading and comprehension, another 10 minutes for retelling. In total, a student needs about an hour with such reading.Of course, for a second grade student this is a very heavy load. The student gets tired and does not learn the material well. As a result, academic performance falls.

In high school, the amount of information increases 2-3 times. We took an example from 6th grade. Literature textbook with work“Bezhin Meadow” by I. Turgenev. The word count of this paragraph is 5954 words. With speedreading 100 words per minute, the student will read in almost an hour, answering questions will spend 10 minutes, and retelling 15 minutes. In total, the student will spend an hour and a half on this work.

At a speed of 30 words per minute, it takes about three hours to read this piece. If you add the time spent at school (5 lessons) 4.5 hours, you get a whole working day for an adult (and you still need time for rest). Due to too much workload, the student quickly gets tired, poorly learns the material and becomes unsuccessful.

2.3.Exercises to develop reading skills

1.Reading upside down text. A page of normal text is turned upside down, i.e. 180 degrees. The child’s task is to read the text by moving his eyes from right to left. It is said that a child is traveling through an upside-down world and it is urgent for him to quickly learn to read in it.

This exercise helps:

Formation of complete images of words and letters in the child’s memory.

Development of the ability to combine letter-by-letter analysis with predicting the endings of words.

2. Correction of deformed sentences

Children love mysterious, enchanted sentences. Let the student try to find meaning in these sentences by arranging the words correctly in the correct form.

1. walk carefully past a standing car

2. gave Masha porridge with our semolina

3. one color in summer and one color in winter

4. fishermen catch fish while fishing

5. my friends came to me for a holiday

6. Santa Claus had a beautiful light sleigh

7. my favorite tree is white birch

8. strawberries bloomed in our garden

9. We took the train to the station

10. The icy, steep and long slide was

3. Filling in missing letters in words

A printed text with missing letters is presented. Gaps are marked with spaces or dots.

Filling in gaps helps you read faster and internal analysis the whole word, taking into account and correlating its first and last letters in a single visual image. The exercise develops the ability to take into account the context of each word, pay attention to neighboring words, looking ahead, which is typical for a well-formed reading skill.

This exercise also contributes to the development of verbal-logical memory; thanks to stops due to missing letters, it becomes necessary to retain in memory what was read earlier. For example: Sh - a S - - a along w ---e and s- s--a s---y.

4.Imaginary word

One student pronounces the word incorrectly while reading, and the other interrupts reading and reads the word with correction.

Expanding the field of view

5. One of the reasons for poor reading technique may be a small angle of view. Since the visual angle is small, then fewer letters (parts of lines) fall into the field of view of such a reader than is generally possible. And here techniques have been invented to help expand the angle of vision: one of these techniques is the “herringbone”. (Application)

The task is to look at the center at the number and see two syllables of one word at the same time.

6.Reading with repetition. Each sentence reads as follows: Stars-...; The stars are huge...; The stars are huge, red-hot... ; Stars are huge hot balls.

7. Reading in a circle. The text is read three times for 1 minute each (start from the same place all the time). Each time the stopping place is marked. Then the number of words added from stop 1 to stop 3 is counted.

We can talk a lot about reading techniques, but we should not forget about health. There are rules of reading hygiene.

Rule 1. Watch TV as little as possible.

Rule 4. Do not forget about active activities to improve health. To strengthen vision, it is preferable to play football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

Rule 5. Constantly monitor and strengthen your vision with exercises. Have your eyes checked by a doctor once a year.

Conclusion

During the course of our work, we came to the conclusion that reading is the most important factor affecting academic performance. Moreover, reading skills must be developed already in elementary school; only then can middle and high school students achieve success in their studies.

So, the results of our research work led us to the conclusion that books are the source of knowledge that makes us smarter and more educated. It is reading books that affects the academic performance of schoolchildren. The great Russian writer A.S. is right. Pushkin: “Reading is better than learning!”

Subject: Reading - here best teaching.

Target: educational:broadening the horizons of students;

educational: instilling a love of reading books;

developing: development of cognitive interest.

Progress of the class hour.

  1. Class organization.

II. Message to the target.

(The music of V. Shainsky “It’s fun to walk together” sounds. Books are included in the class.)

1st book:

Are dear first-graders studying here? We've finally found you. We know that you have already learned to read, and they also told us that you have smart heads, kind and fair hearts, keen eyes, and skillful hands.

We want to get to know you better, such wonderful guys. We, the sages, live in the kingdom of books - a wise state.

2nd book: How many stars are there in the sky?

So many flowers in the forests,

How many drops are there in the Dnieper, -

How many books are there on earth!

There are some as small as the palm of your hand,

There are large volumes,

They live

Together with you in the houses.

Teacher: New books living lines

They open the way wide.

We couldn't live without books

Good, interesting books -

We say hello to the whole class!

What are books for?

Reading is the best teaching!

III. Conversation.

Teacher: “I owe everything good in me to books,” wrote A.M. Gorky. From childhood, a person’s life is inextricably linked with books. The greatest happiness for a child is meeting books in childhood. First this Magic world fairy tales Fairy tales teach people to be humane. They make you feel sad about someone else’s misfortune, rejoice at the joys of others, and worry about the heroes of a fairy tale.

But not only fairy tales teach a person goodness and justice. There is no area in human life and activity that is not connected with a book. Some books teach goodness, others teach love for nature, others store and transmit human knowledge. Books are good teachers of man. Any book can help a person in difficult times. Help with advice, answer any question.

A Russian folk proverb says: “He who reads a lot knows a lot.” Books tell us about many things: about our Motherland, its vastness, about its best people and their work, about scientific discoveries.

What new things have you learned lately?

How did you know this?

Recently, a huge number of children's books and magazines have been published.

Each child can choose any literature that interests him. What do you like to read most?

What attracts you to this topic?

Currently, various series of encyclopedias have been published. These are “What is it, who is it?”, “I am exploring the world”, “Why” and others.

Another proverb says that “The book is our assistant in work.” A worker reads books about machines in order to manage them better, a collective farmer, about what needs to be done to grow a rich harvest, a doctor, about how best to treat people so that they get sick less, a teacher, about how to better teach and educate children. Every person is constantly in search of new knowledge, but where can they get it?

Books help us understand the life around us. Therefore, you need to read them carefully, slowly, without skipping pages. We must treat the book with care.

1st book:

Please don't touch me with dirty hands. I will be ashamed if other readers take me. Don't write on me with pen or pencil - it's so ugly. If you haven't finished reading, please bookmark me so that I can rest comfortably and peacefully. Help me stay clean, and I will help you become smart, literate and erudite.

Teacher:

- To find out whether a student is good or not, just look at his books. A student who loves to read treats his books with care, they are always in order, but a careless student has all the leaves wrapped up and dirty. This is what our books talk about.

(Two students come out. Their costumes are book covers. One is beautifully designed, and the other is torn and disheveled. The student, sitting at his desk, reads a poem loudlyM. Ilyin “Two books”).

One day two books met,

We talked among ourselves.

Well, how are you doing? –

One asked the other.

Oh, honey, I'm embarrassed in front of the class,

My owner tore out the covers with meat!

Yes, what about the covers... I tore off the pages!

He makes boats and rafts from them

And pigeons...

I'm afraid the leaves will go to snakes,

Then I’ll fly into the clouds!

Are your sides intact?

Your torments are unknown to me,

I don't remember such a day

So that without washing your hands clean,

And look at my leaves,

You won’t see the inky dots on them,

I’m silent about blots - about them

And it’s indecent to say...

But I teach him too

Not just any way, but “excellent”.

Well, mine barely runs in threes

And I even got a D that week.

IV. Bottom line.

  • How have books helped you?
  • Often, when reading books, you think about your actions. The book is the most important teacher. It teaches life, teaches you to love and respect a person, so you shouldn’t treat a book as something you can easily do without. How good it is that in life there are wise and kind friends and advisers - books! Read books and you will become wiser and smarter.

Presentation of the project “Reading is the best teaching”

at the Primary School Projects Festival

1. Good afternoon, dear participants of the Festival of Projects

Today we present a group parent-child project: “Reading is the best teaching.”

Everyone has heard this saying. And one cannot but agree with him. The Bible says: “In the beginning was the Word.” And it all began with a word. Ancient Rus' valued books as the greatest treasure. To have several books meant to have a fortune.

The Tale of Bygone Years calls books rivers that “drink the Universe,” wisdom of immeasurable depth. “If you look diligently in the book,” the chronicler noted, “you will find great benefit to your soul.” It is no coincidence that there are inscriptions on old books: “Woe to the one who scribbles in the margins of books, in the next world demons will scratch his face with iron”; “This book cannot be sold or given away.” The reader of books felt involved in eternal wisdom peace.

2. The decline in interest in reading and books is a fact of today's life. This process is especially pronounced in children and adolescents.

They began to “use” the book, they began to “get acquainted” with it, they began to “work” with the text, but not read it. The book has become only a source of information, and reading has become a way to obtain it.

3. Hypothesis our project: is it necessary to spend time reading a book if you can watch a movie and get information from the Internet.

4. Relevance:

According to statistics provided in 2005 by one of the ten leading world companies researching the book market, NOP World, Russians have ceased to be the most reading nation, losing the palm not only to Indians and Chinese, but also to Thais, Filipinos and Egyptians.

The prestige of reading is falling

    Literacy rate is declining

Family reading traditions are being lost

“In the 1970s, 80% of families read to their children regularly; today, only 7% of families do so.”

5. Purpose of the work– attract the attention of schoolchildren, parents and teachers to the problem of reading

6. Research objectives:

Find out the attitude of students and parents of our class to reading, including family reading

Conduct surveys and interviews on the project topic

Develop a system of activities to attract children and parents of the class to reading

Find new forms of attraction to reading and books using modern information technologies

7 . Project implementation stages

Stage 1 Studying sources on the project topic and presenting group projects at a class conference

The role of books in the life of a schoolchild

    The world at your fingertips

    The wonderful world of books

History of the book: from rock to electronic

    Book kaleidoscope

A journey through the ocean of books

The most unusual books in the world

    Monuments to books in Russia

    Do we need libraries?

A total of 9 group projects were presented, 6 of them received high marks at International competitions in nomination " Research works and projects."

And at the class conference, where all the kids in the class presented their projects, parents acted as experts.

Stage 2 of the project:

a) Questioning classmates and parents

b) Interviewing a school librarian

c) Presentation of the most interesting books from the home library, school library and D.G. Burylina

Based on the results of the questionnaire, we found out that 100% of girls and 87% of boys like to read books. Girls most like to read adventures and stories about nature, and boys like science fiction and encyclopedias. Favorite authors: V. Dragunsky and A. Volkov.

Girls and boys go to both the school library and city libraries. 33% of girls and boys visit the school library frequently. 60% of boys and 67% of girls visit other libraries in addition to the school library

All students in our class have a home library and everyone reads books from this library.

Girls use books and the Internet to find information. Boys use the Internet to a greater extent to obtain information than other sources of information. Most of the kids read 5-7 books over the summer. There are students in the class who have read 10 books or more. It is no coincidence that 4 children from our class became winners and prize-winners of the city Olympiad in literary reading.

And according to the results of the last school year, the class became the most reading class in the school.

Our school library contains 36,000 books. The oldest books date back to 1916. The largest and thickest is “Illustrated Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language by V.I. Dal”, the smallest are songs of Russian poets, epics, proverbs of the Russian people, the most popular in elementary school is Grigory Oster “ Bad advice", the most popular in high school– “I understand the world”, “Everything obvious becomes secret”

The Burylin Library is a rare and rich collection of books and printed publications, which is of great value for all of Russia. The collection of books by D.G. Burylin contained literature in different languages on various branches of knowledge

Stage 3 Activities to encourage reading

The whole class - to the library “What children read in the 19th century”

Reading competition "Fable - the wisdom of life"

Competition of illustrations for favorite literary works

Participation in the annual event in support of reading “Library Night”

Stage 4 Group project: “Read, reason, create”

Stage 5 Creation of book trailers: group and individual

The most promising channel for promoting any information or resources at the moment is the INTERNET, and the most relevant, popular form is VIDEO FORMAT. BOOK TRAILER is an excellent tool for promoting books and reading. Literally translated: BUK – book, trailer – ads.

BOOK TRAILER is a short video that includes especially bright and recognizable moments of the book. Its main task is to tell about the book, to interest and intrigue the reader. With the help of a BOOK TRAILER you can bring your wildest creative ideas to life and tell the whole world about your favorite book.

The history of BOOK trailers began in 2002, and the trailer was first shown to the general public at the Louisiana Book Fair in 2003. However, the creation of book trailers has gained popularity since 2005 thanks to the development of video hosting services (YouTube, etc.) and social networks. It turns out that this type of attraction to reading has now become very popular in Russia.

Together with the adults, we began work on creating our own BOOK trailer.

First, we read the book “Legends of Flowers” by S. Krasikov, wrote an essay “What Flower is My Mother Like,” where we declared our love for the closest person on Earth, grew a flower ourselves for March 8th and designed the book using technology Scrapbooking. Scrapbooking (English scrapbooking, from English scrapbook: scrap - scrapping, book - book, literally "book of scrapbooks") - a type of handicraft art consisting in the production and design of family or personal photo albums, as well as the style of decorating gifts, interior items, postcards, etc. Therefore, the theme of our BOOK trailer:"Flowers for Mom"

Then we started the second stage. It was necessary to come up with a creative solution for the future video: to determine the genre and style of the BOOK trailer...

GENRE AND STYLE

We decided that our video would combine the pages of our book and photos of the most striking moments of working on the book.

The most difficult stage was writing the script plan.

After all, in 1-2 minutes we will have to reveal the most interesting moments of our book. And, most importantly, not to reveal all the secrets, but, on the contrary, to intrigue. For this we have collected necessary materials: photos, pictures, shot several videos, selected music, wrote voice-over text.

When the script plan was written and the materials were collected, we moved on to the fourth stage. We edited the video in the programs: Windows Live Movie Maker and Pinnacle Studio

Hooray! Premiere today!

Conclusions from our work

1. A book reduces stress.

The richness and rhythm of language has the ability to calm the psyche and relieve the body of stress.

2.Reading protects against Alzheimer's disease.

When you read, brain activity increases, and this has a beneficial effect on its condition.

3.Reading gives you confidence.

Reading books makes us more literate. When in a conversation we demonstrate deep knowledge of a particular subject, we involuntarily behave more collectedly. Recognition of your erudition by others has a positive effect on personal self-esteem.

4.Improves brain activity.

When reading, we imagine a lot of details: characters, objects surrounding them. Therefore, it is necessary to memorize many things that are necessary to understand the book. This is why reading trains memory and logic.

To truly experience the pleasure of reading a book, you need to find your genre or your author.

Family reading helps to instill in a child a love of reading without coercion.

Reading and discussing a book together strengthens family bonds

Family reading allows an adult to participate in the child’s life and explore the world of his interests.

Reading a book aloud to the whole family by your child improves his reading technique and speed.

A child can ask an adult about misunderstood places in the book and ask questions about what they read. This increases the child’s parental authority

“Family reading is a kinship of the souls of adults and children,” wrote D. S. Likhachev

3. It is necessary to use different forms of attracting children and parents to reading, such as

well-known and new ones to all of us, one of which is the BOOK TRAILER - an excellent tool for promoting books and reading.

Conclusion

Children's writer Astrid Lindgren was once asked: “Does books have a future?” Lindgren replied: One might as well ask: does bread have a future? A rose, a children's song, a May rain?.. It's better to ask: does a person have a future?.. If a person has it, a book has it too. Because once we have learned to find joy and consolation in books, we cannot do without it...

If a child has tears and whims,
Don't take the TV to help moms.
The son will not understand what is there on the screen,
And it won’t get any kinder or better from him.
And don’t miss a moment in this life:
Show the children what a book is.
Explain to the children: evil is always punished.
The good one wins. Everyone must be one.
Truth triumphs everywhere, not force.
The world in the book is huge: what is - and was.
Time and space breathe on the pages,
And the wind of distant wanderings invites you with you.
Children grow up and read on their own.
If you have questions, ask your mother.
Moms or dads, explain to your children:
A book is a priceless gift that shines like the sun.
Let the children love the bright pages -
And faces will light up with a kind smile.
The book will help them understand life
And grow up to the joy of your mother and the Fatherland.

Thank you for your attention.
