But even the latest inventions of technological progress and scientific thought will not replace what each of us, small and adult, constantly needs, because this is how the mental organization of a person is arranged. And what is needed is good communication, sensitive understanding, caring participation.
This need is especially felt by the older generation. Therefore, the profession of a social worker remains one of the most necessary and in demand. There can be no indifference here - in the field of social services, you need to work with an open heart towards people who need outside help and care. This is the opinion of the social worker of the Center for Social Services for Elderly and Disabled Citizens Evdokia Vasilievna Ryaboshapko.
SPIRITUAL WARMTH FOR THE THIRTEEN CHILDREN
Evdokia Vasilievna ended up in the social service by chance, but today she is sure that it is in this work that her vocation is. “For many years I worked in a completely different field, but four years ago the company started layoffs, I had to look for a job,- says our heroine. - A friend recommended to contact the head of the department of social servicesTatyana Nikolaevna Fedotova, There was a vacancy for a social worker. I knew that this was not an easy job, primarily physically, but still agreed - I always found a common language with the elderly, and the very idea that my work would be useful, addressed to specific people, somehow warmed me. Yes, Evdokia Vasilievna admits, at first it was difficult, because older people do not always easily make contact, they do not immediately trust a stranger. But gradually, step by step, she learned to understand her wards and today her work brings only positive emotions.
The workdays of a social worker are busy. Evdokia Vasilievna has thirteen wards, and six of them live on the south side of the city, and seven on the north. The social worker visits everyone twice a week. The range of responsibilities or, as they say today, social services is quite wide and individual for each elderly person. The most voluminous layer of work is housekeeping. And if in the apartment of her ward she only works on cleaning the premises, then in private houses there are more worries. In the summer, help the elderly in the garden, in winter, clear the paths of snow. “Last winter there were big snowfalls, and one of my grandmothers, who lives in her house, constantly found herself in a “snow blockade”,- says Evdokia Vasilievna, “Of course, it is difficult for an elderly person to remove snow on their own, so for almost the whole winter I did not let go of a shovel.”
In addition to domestic, household chores, among the duties of a social worker are the purchase of food, medicines, essential goods, escorting wards to hospitals and government agencies, obtaining prescription medications. All this requires a lot of time, patience and effort. But no less than physical help, older people need support, sincere, sincere communication. To listen, to comfort, to help with a kind word - all this is not included in the list of "social services", but sometimes it turns out to be the most important for the wards of Evdokia Vasilievna Ryaboshapko: “Sometimes you will do everything, you are already going to leave, but you can’t: something is bothering an elderly person, he is upset, which means that you definitely need to talk. And when, after a sincere conversation, they say that the heart has become easier, it means that your work is not in vain.
NOT IN SERVICE, BUT IN FRIENDSHIP
Her wards speak warmly and with gratitude about Evdokia Vasilievna. We caught the social worker at Lydia Kuzminichna Perkina. The old woman confesses: “I don’t know what I would do without my assistant! Evdokia is an amazing person, kind, sincere, sympathetic. Coming to the house, the first thing he is interested in is my mood, health. She carefully, meticulously fulfills all my instructions, responds to requests for help at any time, sometimes even visits on weekends - it turns out that her schedule is irregular. And I don’t want to call the duties of a social worker “services” at all, because Evdokia Vasilyevna does everything conscientiously and with her soul, as they say, not for service, but for friendship. Our social worker has twelve more people like me, elderly, with their own requirements, and sometimes whims. And it is immediately noticeable that work for her is not the oppression of some duties, but a sincere desire to be necessary, useful. And we are infinitely grateful to Evdokia Vasilievna for this.
When the working day ends, Evdokia Vasilievna hurries home. Here she is also looking forward to a large family, adult children and a little granddaughter. In the stream of endless cases, a woman finds time for her hobbies - gardening, embroidery. Both work and hobbies of this nice woman are sincere, “cozy”. Speaking about her profession, Evdokia Vasilievna admits: sometimes it is not easy, but she never had a desire to change her field of activity. Social work is an opportunity to do better world around and change yourself, becoming more tolerant, more attentive, kinder.

Responsibilities of a social worker:

This Federal Law defines the state policy in the field of social protection of disabled people in the Russian Federation, the purpose of which is to provide disabled people with equal opportunities with other citizens in exercising civil, economic, political and other rights and freedoms provided for by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, as well as in accordance with generally recognized principles and norms international law and international treaties of the Russian Federation.
Chapter I. General Provisions
Article 1

Article 2. The concept of social protection of disabled people

Article 3
The legislation of the Russian Federation on the social protection of persons with disabilities consists of the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, this Federal Law, and other federal laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, as well as laws and other regulatory legal acts of the subjects of the Russian Federation.

9) development and implementation of federal targeted programs in the field of social protection of disabled people, control over their implementation;
10) approval and funding of federal basic programs for the rehabilitation of disabled people;

Article 5
The jurisdiction of the state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of social protection of persons with disabilities includes:

2) adoption of laws and other regulatory legal acts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the social protection of disabled people, control over their implementation;
3) determining priorities in the implementation of social policy in relation to persons with disabilities in the territories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, taking into account the level of social economic development territory of the subject of the Russian Federation;
4) creation of enterprises, institutions and organizations public service medical - social expertise, the State Service for the Rehabilitation Industry, monitoring their activities;

12) assistance in the work and provision of assistance to public associations of disabled people in the territories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation;
